I recently started using Aveeno body lotion with SPF 60. Hard to find sunscreen for the body that doesn't smell like a day at the pool/beach. 🙃 I like it!

Just went to my 30th high school reunion and was told by many that I hadn’t changed since high school. While I have done facials 2-3 times a year for the last decade I hadn’t taken skincare so seriously until I found you last year around the start of the pandemic. You’re presentation and well researched explanations made me a convert and I’ve been religiously following your lead since. I’m certain that is what led to all the lovely compliments. Thank you, Angie, for doing the hard stuff for us so we can take advantage!! Be good to your skin everyone and it will be good to you!

Angie, I so appreciate the research and honesty you put into your videos. Thanks to you, I've found that mixing the Paula's Choice and the Elta MD is the a great sunscreen solution for my skin...I never would have even thought of doing that on my own! And now I've tried the MyChelle and absolutely love the coverage and feel of it...again I never would have even heard of it or tried it on my own. I've been a huge fan for years - THANK YOU for your thorough research, honesty, humor and creativity!!

I have dry skin. Elta MD is my absolute favorite; however, it is just soo expensive. I have tried several of the CereVe brands and just find it's thick and doesn't blend in well (tinted and non-tinted). The Australian Gold is still hard to beat. Thanks again for your research!!

I have ordered the Elta Md thru WALMART of all places and it was about $24? or $26 and I mix it with the 70spf UNTINTED Australian Gold! It boosts the spf and the Elta is a little dark on me so it lightens it up. Plus it stretches your Elta. Check Walmart because they are able to order products for less $$

I just found an all mineral sunscreen that I love to use for my body every day - Sven's Everyday Mineral Sunscreen. It's ~$4 per ounce currently on Amazon, it feels like almost nothing on the skin, and it leaves *zero* white cast on my semi-fair (Fitzpatrick photo type 2) skin. First non-tinted mineral SPF I have ever tried that leaves no white cast, although I'm sure for deeper skin tones there will be some. It's non-water resistant which I actually prefer for a daily sunscreen. I'm so excited about it I just had to share!

I enjoy your videos so much. Every time that I worry about losing myself in the future, not feeling like myself I just watch your videos and it alleviates my worries in that regard. If I can look as good as you in 28 years I’ll be super happy. And thanks to videos like these I know what can work to prevent and even reverse skin damage. I think honestly that most women look older than they are because we get told that we are old at 40 plus and many women give up on themselves. Education about sun damage (80% of visible skin aging is photoaging and can be prevented to large degrees and be treated) and fitness for middle aged and older women could completely change our perception of women’s aging. I’m an esthetician and fascinated by all that I’m learning . Up to 50% of women have a higher biological than chronological age and 13% have a biological age of 10-18 years lower than their chronological age at 60 in a recent study. It’s so important to be prepared and not just for looks but for health and to live life the best we can. I noticed that many equestrians calculate perfectly what nutrients and how much turn out, exercise their horses need for best health and aging. In studies animals That Are on their best possible diet and lifestyle life up to 40% longer and age up to 30% slower.
I feel like we as a species today life longer than most would have thought possible centuries ago and now we learn that humans are not supposed to look and feel old at half their life expectancy. And we learn this with science, better nutrition and lifestyle today because it’s not just about survival anymore. It’s like we learn the true potential of our species. Like the difference between a badly nourished animal in captivity and an Anomalien it’s ideal habitat and diet.
I will show my mother in law these videos, she doesn’t use any sunscreen or retinoid and I feel it would benefit her so much.

A quick glance at the study info that Angie provided seems to indicate that the higher levels of benzene (greater than 2 ppm [parts/million]) seem to be associated more with SPRAY forms of sunscreen (and a couple of gel formulas). Looking at the chart with levels at 0.1 - 2 ppm, again almost all spray forms with a few gels/lotions. An eltaMD spray formula was included in that list. It's always good to know who is funding any research testing like this also.

I use the Australian Gold sunscreen and I have normal skin. It isn't drying to my skin, so it's also good for normal skin. Yes, it is tenacious. I use a cleansing balm to remove it and still find more on my washcloth after I've used my regular cleanser. Dr Dray, a dermatologist here on UA-cam, recommends Banana Boat Hair and Scalp sunscreen. It's a spray.

MyChelle , I bought this product. In my opinion, It is one of the worst SC I have ever used. It is only for very oily skin. Even with three layers of moisturizers (OMG) and many other preparation techniques, it is chalky, it burns, it peels, etc.; for a combination to dry or dry skin this is a real nightmare. That being said, I am following your skin care routines after NERIUM changed their formulations. I am loving it and couple of my friends have followed. I am 58 years old. Although I did not abused sun in a sustained manner, these routines are absolutely beautiful they work and are a joy to practice.

It’s supposed to have the special Mexoplex (can’t remember how to spell) that is available only in Europe. Supposedly, it offers more protection from UVA and UVB. I mix a little bit of foundation with it, and it goes on great and looks good all day. I have dry skin, and always use moisturizer under it and my skin stays moist all day.

The best sunscreen no one talks about is Clinique SPF 30 mineral for body. It is so silky with no white cast. I use it on my face and it works beautifully under makeup. At $34 for 4 ounces the price per ounce is very reasonable.

Please help! Anybody out there have the same problem I have. Any lotion or any sunscreen no matter how far I keep it away from my orbital bone seems to sit into my eyes and burn throughout the day. I’m constantly wiping away tears especially in one eye. I don’t know how other UA-camrs or Dr. Dray on her channel slathers it on her whole face and eyelids! Makes me cringe. I wear sunblock but I keep it so far away from my eyes and just wear a really good sunglasses. I don’t know what else to do.......😪

Yes, I hate when sunscreen makes my eyes tear up! For me, this only happens when one of the sunscreen filters is Avobenzone. All mineral sunscreens and chemical sunscreens from Korea and Japan do not irritate my eyes, and I slather them right up to my lash lines. If the sunscreen has certain fragrances or citrus oils, that also irritates my eyes. Good luck finding something that works for you!

Unfortunately mixing anything with your sunscreen isn't advised. It interferes with its ability to form the film it needs on your skin to protect you from the sun, so youre definitely interfering with the sun protection by doing that. You're not even supposed to mix two seperate sunscreens together.

I tried the Cerave am facial moisturizing lotion spf 30 and hated it. It pills like crazy if you have any other layers on your face, like serum, essence, moisturizer etc. If you just apply it on clean face then it does not pill as much. But if you apply it on top of your serum, essence or other cream, it pills like no tomorrow, with disgusting white residues all over your face and would not blend in.
Also, when you apply it, it has a bad white cast. After a while the white cast fades but still, there is some left.
Anyway, I ended up not using it much, since I could only use it on clean face, but most of the time, I prefer to add it on top of other layers and it is impossible to do so. Never ever buy it again.
Otherwise, I love other Cerave products such as the facial cleanser or its regular moisturizers with no spf.

I have normal/combo skin. Hated the Australian sunscreen. Sticky, never really 'dried down.' Was wearing IT CC Cream for a while, but it really transferred and wore off during the day, and always felt slightly tacky and my skin didn't 'breathe' as well as I'd like. The Elta MD is better, but it takes a couple of minutes to dry down and I can feel it on my skin. For the me MyChelle is the winner. It's liquid, goes on fast, gives me light coverage and evens out my skin tone. Best of all, it truly dries. It doesn't come off on my eyeglasses. MyChelle reminds me of the Stilla Hide & Chic foundation. I'm wearing Elta on one side and MyChelle on the other side of my face right now. The MyChelle side 'breathes' better. The Elta side is a bit itchy.

My poor arms are so sun damaged (I'm 55 and a sun worshiper growing up too) and it's so hard to find a good daily sunscreen for the body that doesn't feel gross. Very good overview. UVA/UVB both important -I recently heard on Derm show on Dr. Radio to think UVA as A for aging protection and UVB as B for burning protection. Though Angie doesn't like mineral sunscreens for body due to the white casting, I've used Blue Lizard as my base prior to time in the sun (such as the beach)for many years and after it absorbs the cast goes away in a short period of time. If you're on the beach you can then use a spray chemical if you need to to touch up outside throughout the day for convenience in the sand. Problem with sprays is with any wind you're likely missing a lot. You do have to keep reapplying to keep the protection level up if you're out in the sun awhile ( frequent application is how sunscreen is tested for the SPF) I'm skeptical of using the chemical sunscreens though because the chemicals do ultimately get absorbed into the bloodstream and I question its side effects. On a side note, I'd like to hear discussion about the use of makeup with sunscreen, and why there is any need to use a separate sunscreen first under makeup with high SPF built in with limited daily sun exposure.

    • @littlebear853
      @littlebear853 3 роки тому

Because no one applies the amount of makeup to get the spf on the label. Also, the filters added to makeup products are usually not the best or don't provide a complete protection of UVA and UVB.

Hi Angie! Not sure if you will see this since it’s an older video but I wanted to let you know that MyChelle changed their formula and it can cause the skin to burn. I checked Ulta and Amazon reviews after I had a reaction and saw many people who had the same thing happen. It lasts about a week. It begins with itching and burning, then bumps, then the pores clear out. I initially thought it was a tretinoin reaction and I discontinued use for 2 weeks. Yesterday I used the sunscreen again and re-burned my face. At least I identified the issue!Bummer I liked it quite a bit! Thanks as always for your thorough reviews.
