Use rejected sunscreens that you’ve bought (that don’t work for your face) on your less sensitive hands and arms.
And tops of your feet!!
I totally do this! I got some supergoop for my face and it really broke me out but works awesome with my arms and hands. Hate to use something so pricey, but glad to not waste it!
On the feet too if u wear sandals!!!
Oh, great idea, thanks.
Good budget tip!
Best American sunscreens.
So many great Korean and Japanese sunscreens that are so much more elegant and protective. Most have spf50 ++++
Isntree is korean and it's amazing
@@lynettebr I'll try that..
@@lynettebryep isntree is real the best I've been using it for year now it helping my oily skin and sensitive alot
Can you buy in U.S. stores?
I now use the Beauty of Joseon 50+SPF daily… it’s the best I’ve tried so far and it’s definitely under $20
Where do you order it from?
I ordered mine from yesstyle BUT I oder two at a time because it takes a good month if not two to arrive in the US. When I finish one tube and start on the next, I order two more, and that ensures I don't run out before the next two arrive.
I like this sunscreen too, it gives you a natural glow
My favorite sunscreen that I wear every single day is Australian Gold tinted mineral SPF 50. I love it.
My HG for my 55yo, combo /oily tan skin!
Same! The best I've found for oily skin like mine!
I’ll check it out thanks ❤
I use it alongside Beauty of Joseon Rice + Probiotic sunscreen.
Same! I use the cetaphil liquid mineral as layer1 and top it with this tinted one to cover up the white cast and I don’t need any foundation or anything! I do like the layer method because Australian gold can be drying for my normal skin but love the mousse like whipped texture and the skin feel
I actually love the CeraVe 50. I don't care that it turns me white as a ghost while I'm doing farm chores. I burn so easily and the sun feels like I'm being baked in a microwave. This keeps the heat off me and I never burn. If you burn and don't mind the white cast, it's great.
White cast is better than a red cast!
@@GoBlueGirl78 100% !!
I agree love it the white cast is worth it 💯
Totally agree! There are absolutely situations when I don't care about the white cast, and it's fabulous.
I hate this sunscreen, the white cast is so bad and it feels so heavy on the skin. Have to agree with the Docs on this one!
Thank you for this. Very considerate to give such candid and honest advice about such an important subject in skincare. Quality and money that are what matters. ❤
It's excellent to see that we don't have to compromise on quality just because a sunscreen is budget-friendly. This video showcases that there are excellent options available that provide adequate sun protection without breaking the bank.

@msf8297 ...yeah? Everything made of atoms is a chemical.
Found your channel this am I am a fan of this channel ❤
Thanks for this!!!! Your channel is so helpful! Nephrologist in Texas here and need all the sunscreen knowledge!
I always learn so much! Thanks for deep diving. Really interested in Korean skincare now
i appreciate you guys for talking about oxybenzone!! there definitely needs to be more awareness about toxic ingredients. i know as a consumer i’m being more mindful of what goes on my skin and being more conscious about products. also gives me hope there are affordable non toxic options!
I've been very surprised at the Native face sunscreen, at $16, it's mineral based and blends in with no white cast. Plus I work in the garden for hours and forget to reapply sometimes and have never gotten burned on my face, which is amazing for me.
Thank you for letting us know!!
I only use the Japanese and Korean ones which are almost all budget, and also amazing. I live in the UK so we have all the EU ones, and LRP sunscreens are the only western ones I like but they are pricy. I found the ELF one too greasy/shiny, as I prefer completely matte
I like the beauty of joseon. Thanks for mentioning it on your previous video. It blends well leaving no white cast
Love it!! I love when you say "here we go." I get excited for what is coming. 😆
Just love your content...cannot believe how fast you got to millions of followers!! Congrats guys!
omg i was thinking of looking for a new sunscreen to try and this was uploaded two minutes ago 😭 tysm for making this
Hi guys, I’m very surprised that you are not trying and recommending more Eucerin skincare products. In Europe dermatologists adore this brand and it is widely accepted and recommended. From the entire skincare I have bought in North America only Eucerin is making me try and buy more and more. My sensitive skin is tolerating their products surprisingly well. Hopefully my suggestion is not annoying you. I love and appreciate your work!
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Sunscreen isn't my favorite because of the smell, but my 2 year old LOVES it. He lays on the changing table and just relaxes as I am applying it his face and arms. It's pretty cute how he just closes his eyes and enjoys the experience. We call it "facial time "LOL; he looks like how I feel when I'm getting a facial at the spa.
That is adorable 😂
Prescious!! What a great way to POSITIVELY prepare him for healthy lifelong skincare😊
So cute 🥰
Oil of Olay's Complete spf 30 is a good hybrid one. No Tint (on my white skin), to stinging eyes, no polling, and affordable. I actually use a Japanese face sunscreen, but if buying local this Olay one is a good fit for me.
I love your videos!! I watch them a couple of times since there is so much knowledge in them. Thank you for such valuable content❤
Wow amazing and perfect timing, as we needed this video, Thankyou both so much and can’t edit up see your next vlog xx
Thank you for the recommendations! More videos that are budget friendly please!! ❤
Love the e.l.f. sunscreen/primer. Works well with L'Oreal foundations.
I generally steer clear of chemical sunscreens (from the US) cause I’m always allergic to them, but this year I’ve found some awesome mineral ones! For face i use the Everyday tinted sunscreen by Unsun & it’s probably the most comfortable one I’ve tried that’s mineral. For body the Native mineral sunscreen. It’s weird to apply at first but once you rub it in, it disappears into your skin! No sticky gross white lines in your elbow creases or that sticky coating all over!
Omg I’m so happy for this video. I’m a stay at home mom and finances are tight right now. All other recommendations are so expensive.
I’ve had good luck with store brand duplicates. They are usually at least 33% cheaper than the name brand.
Bondi Sands SPF 50 is my absolute favorite. $6.99 for 2.53 fl oz. Moisturizing, water resistant, and doesn’t sting around the eyes. Only drawback is that I have to order it online.
Same here! I have been using it for 2 years!
@@auricia201 i've been using it for over a year and it's honestly a little greasy especially if you're reapplying but it's the cheapest most effective option for me with no whitecast 😭😭i wanted to try their hydra uv line but it seems like it's not available in the us, only is australia and eu ):
The skin1004 one for me, it's absolutely amazing 😍
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I just ran out of sunscreen- been using the Blackgirl moisturizing sunscreen (suggested from your older video) since it doesn’t sting my eyes!
Canadian Amazon unfortunately discontinued the product so i’ll be checking out these new ones.
Thank you so much for sharing all of your wonderful information with us.
Thank you so much for this video! I love EltaMD for my daily wear, and Canmake Mermaid Gel when I want to look dewy. I'll have to try out Vanicream to see if it could be a good substitute for EltaMD.
Unfortunately I've found that I'm sensitive to at least one common American chemical sunscreen, but I don't know which one. I also love the HydroBoost line, so I thought that sunscreen would be good for me, but I couldn't wear it. That was when I finally realized the issue was the active ingredients, not the supporting ingredients.
Desert dweller with light skin, skin cancer in both parents. I like Neutrogena Ultra sheer Dry Touch SPF 55 is my all time favorite. Using it and wearing a hat am now having fewer precancerous removed at yearly derm visit! Also wear long sleeves outside.
Thank you for letting us know about sunbum. I check for that ingredient in shampoos and conditioners but never thought about sunscreen products. I have a sensitivity
I didn't like the Trader Joe's one. To much silicone for my oily skin
Great video and information, thank you! For me, though, the ELF Whoa Glow was a no go; it stung my eyes like nobody's business.
I recently purchased the elf one and I am OBSESSED. It makes my skin look AMAZING while also protecting it. It's perfection.
do u apply moisturizer beforehand or simply go with the elf one?
@@user-ht3wv3pl7lalways go with sunscreen at the end of your routine!
Also wondering if we are supposed to use moisturizer with these sunscreens?
I think I was told moisturizer first. Wait few minutes to dry/set. Then sunscreen. Again wait before foundation if you wear.
I live in Canada and Sun Bum sunscreen is available here (unlike most of your other recommendations), but I noticed something interesting: there is no Methylisothiazolinone in the formulation (I looked at the label after watching your video). Just throwing it out there it's even more important to read labels for products purchased in other countries. :)
Could y’all please do a review of “pregnancy safe” skincare? And also please address the actual risks and whether some of these recommendations to avoid certain ingredients are overly cautious.
Thank you just in time I was just searching for one. You’re the best ❣️❣️❣️
This video was good i love all info on sunscreens and im glad you guys tried first , thanks
Can you do an episode over body sunscreen versus primarily for the face? Also an episode for scar healing?
I love Supergoop's Glowscreen and based on your videos, i bought the Elf Whoa Glow Sunscreen! Thank you!
It has squalane, Hyaluronic acid and niacinamide too
Great video docs. I need one so will get one of top 3. Prob try Elf one . I like their products. Thanks! 🌞
Can you guys make a video on ingredients to avoid . Or how to read ingredients in skin care !! I love your videos so informative 🫶🏽
Agree! We need some guidance on how to read ingredients.
I’d love to hear your K-beauty picks!
Glad you talked about common allergens. I have sesitive skin and watch for fragrance, but some things still leave me red and or itchy. I will be on the watch for those ingredients now. Thanks.
♥️♥️♥️this content Docs!!!!
I have very very sensitive skin and eyes. The best SPF that I have used is Bare Republic Mineral Sunscreen Lotion. I also have the tinted version. Another one that I use and love is Pacifica Mattify and Protect Daily Priming Lotion
I'm personally a big fan of the CeraVe ultra light spf 30, the black girl kids spf 50, and the aveeno protect and hydrate spf 60
I would love a video on the brand Good Molecules!!!
This was extremely helpful. Do you happen to have a similar video for foundations for acne-prone skin?
Thanks for making the video and providing a list of good budget sunscreens to try!
What are your thoughts about the CeraVe Hydrating Sheer Sunscreen SPF30 Hybrid Formula? Would it make your budget best list?
Besides Korean brands, is worth mentioning LRP Anthelios uvmune 400 50+ or ISDIN Fotoprotector or Frezyderm 50+ or even Garnier SuperUV 50+ with HA…. All affordable and very gentle imo.
Love your videos! Please do an Honorable Mention for products that are widely available!! Thanks!
Glad you mentioned Korean sunscreen. SPF 30s are not strong enough for climates like Florida or Hawaii so I stick with Korean products which are mineral and at least an SPF 50
Which one is your favorite?
@@artsybirdyskin aqua uv super moisture milk, Beauty of Joseon Rice Probiotic Sunscreen, Madagascar Centella water fit sun serum. Always make sure your sunscreen from Asian has a PA ++++
Oooh. I need to try that Cetaphil oily one. Thank you!
Me too
not to sound too...idk....something...but wow! These men are gorgeous!!
I'm lucky enough to have a Trader Joe's near me and started buying this on your recommendation in a different video. I absolutely love the feel on my face (feels like nothing) and I hate putting products on my face. Love your videos!
I was so frustrated when the news broke that so many were falsely marked protective that now I don’t trust the Korean lines. LOVED the Purito mineral sunscreen which was one of the ones that didn’t come close to what the label claimed.
Love your video’s. Great info! Off subject , what are your thoughts on PRP?
So glad you mentioned sun bum! It was fine when i first used it but after a few months i developed an allergic reaction to it and my skin no longer tolerates it 😢
My favorites are Isntree, Bioré Japan Aqua Rich Watery Essence , A'PIEU Pure Block Aqua Sunscreen Gel . All of them blend in so well and no whitecast.
Yeah, I find it odd that there is not a single Japanese or Korean sunscreen in this video. Almost every Asian sunscreen I have ever used is hands-down better than their US or EU counterparts. I adore the Bioré Aqua Rich Light Up Essence and the Skin Aqua Skin Aqua Tone Up UV Essence.
The best sunscreen for me is Biore Aqua Rich watery Essence , not sticky and no white cast
Are most Asian sunscreens chemical or mineral?
@@midlifemom5829they have both
@@midlifemom5829 Chemical to my knowledge.
First time I dont agree with you. I love Cerave 50 spf mineral! The white cast dissappears after a while and it leaves a beautiful glow😎
Thank you for the informative video. You guys are beautiful.
Love your videos. It has helped in improving my skin. Could you please do a video sunscreen for toddlers and for kids with eczema?
My 9 yr old son is slowly becoming a fan since his last sunburn.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes Neutrogena Hydro Boost (well love). It’s not that expensive & for people of color? It doesn’t leave a white cast and blends GREAT. Most importantly it gets the job done!
Thanks for the recs! Having super sensitive skin, and leaning dry, I've been on the Vanicream bandwagon for a long time - the cream I wear on my face and body, and I use their face and body cleanser. Sadly, that Vanicream sunscreens (and the moisturizer without sunscreen - with Ceramides), breaks me out and makes my face feel icky... I can't wear any Cerave products - except the cream, which my body loves...Go figure. ...For sunscreen, I use EVY Kids from overseas. I'm willing to pay more because this is the only sunscreen my face likes...Anxious to try the Neutrogena Hydroboost water cream....
Hi! Not sure I'll get a response at all bu here is my challenge with sunscreens for my face. Start the day with a fresh for the world to see. Moisturizer goes on, sunscreen, goes, all of the take care of my face products go on, foundation, eye shadow, blush... you name it goes on. Two hours later how do we put sunscreen on over all that?
You're mentioned some "all in one" products that are coming onto the market & I'm very thankful. Especially because sunscreen, yes, is the most important. However this can become kinda tricky business. Messing up, gooping up the layers of powder, and otherwise, placed on the face to start the day. Have clients asked about this?
At the start of the summer here in Los Angeles I picked up the Kroger Sunscreen Invisible Gel SPF 40 (another Supergoop dupe) and I like its texture more than the Trader Joes supergoop dupe.
I love your videos, this one was especially helpful in determining which of the drug store options you recommended and ones to avoid. I was wondering if applying sunscreen to eyelids are recommended? I obviously know to be careful around the eyes but not 100% sure. Also, any advice about red-light therapy masks and whether the eyelids are shielded enough from the masks. I use the Omnilux mask and when I use it 4-5 days a week, I notice the eyelid area becomes irritated and a feeling like my eyelids are "being stretched", they even "appear" that way. Any comments would be appreciated. Best regards, Marsonne
As someone who is always searching for the best budget products, I really thought the Eucerin daily protection spf 30 was going to be great, but I literally have to wash it off my face and apply something else almost every time I use it. It only works (usually) if my skin is maximally exfoliated (before I start getting irritated) and also use no other products (after cleansing). It pills so much. Even on top of itself. I have heard such great reviews of this product from trustworthy derms, so that's why I say, it may not be a guaranteed dollar-well-spent. I love Eucerin products usually, just not that one.
Just a note for sunscreen reviews, its super important to note the tone / opacity of tinted sunscreens for different skin tones (light/dark)
Definitely agree about the pilling.
Other great but inexpensive sunscreens (chemical): Black Girl SPF 30 sunscreen. It's fragrance free, and absorbs beautifully, with no cast; and Cerave Ultralight Face Lotion Moisturizer SPF 30 (though it has a wonky pump).
You should do a review of body sunscreens to use for everyday!
It’s a little bit more expensive ($25) but the COTZ sensitive mineral sunscreen is AMAZING, and I have dark skin. No pilling, no greasiness, no white cast, and it’s easy to blend! I highly recommend it!
CoTZ is my go to brand. I have stupid sensitive skin and it’s the only brand I can wear long term.
@@coya8coy175 Same. I discovered it about a year ago and it’s like the only brand anywhere that doesn’t break me out.
Is that an American brand? I looked it up and it showed up for me for like 70$ which is absolutely not affordable for me.
@@toni2309 oh geez, that’s a lot. Yeah, unfortunately it is an American brand (I think). Where are you located? I’m sure there’s a lot of good similar ones.
@@morganmayberry1149 Germany. I tried a lot of sunscreens, but I just have horribly sensitive skin and seem to react to so many products and also have sensory sensitivity when it comes to stuff on my skin, so nothing seems to work.
I bought the Hero Force Shield sunscreen at Target for 20 dlls. And it’s been great for my oily acne-prone skin! I’d recommend it to anyone!
Vanicream is the best. Feels good and calming.
Thank you for sharing this!🥰
Euciren mineral sunscreen was best for me because it didn’t irritate my eyes!
I also use 50+ sunscreen. I had to throw away almost all of my Skin products. Very happy with your tips. And it matches. My specialist also said rather pay more and get good products.
Finally! People have been sleeping on Neutrogena hydroboost! I have been using this for years and was so sad when it disappeared for bit from the shelves. Thank God they brought it back. It's amazing.
Cuz its kind of a shit company. I use them sometimes but i know a lot of people hate them
I think the sunscreen by Beauty of Joseon should be considered on this list too! It does not leave a white cast (on my medium dark skin), does not sting, does not have any odor and is really amazing on my combo skin type. The best thing about it is that it is very affordable 😉
This! I found it this year and it's my favourite.
Where do you buy it from? I’ve on seen it on Stylevana or sold by different people on Walmart, but I was a little skeptical if it was real or fake
@@Especoffee I've always bought mine from the amazon and never had any issues with the product
@@mariaverzosa789 Ohh okay, thank you for letting me know!

Love watching you both now since "no laughing"... We are serious about wrinkles😢.Thank you, very informative.❤❤
Love your videos! I'm an avid Paula's Choice user but have gone to you for advice through your videos for more targeted stuff, and it worked with the products you suggested! What are good moisturizers for teens? Can they use the same products as you have recommended for adults? So far they have normal skin in summer, a little drier in winter. A good cleanser, night moisturizer, and a sunscreen would be good enough or do we need more?
I’m VERY pale and the Cerave hydrating SPF 50 mineral sunscreen left a white cast on my skin! I was shocked!
you guys need to review heliocare sun protection products. the research behind it is impressive and it shows in the products. i noticed my skin was actually improving in terms of clarity after using the fluid cream from heliocare daily for months. highly highly recomended . ps love ur videos informative and clear and easy to understand :)
Love & trust you two, thanks for the great options. I’m loving Drmtlgy Universal tinted, not that budget Fri, but on sale not bad.
Totally agree that the CeraVe Mineral sunscreen is awful - unless you're going for the lifeguard, white goop on the nose look.
You should do a video on metheylene blue in skincare.
This year I tried Blue lizard sensitive sunscreen sticks that you apply to your face like you reply deodorant . I find it in the humid weather it has the advantage of adhering much better to the skin then the typical spreadable versions . Also while all the sun screens you mentioned might be great for the face you would use them too quickly for the body as they are sold in small quantities . For the body I find that sprays are the most economical and easy way to go .
I’ve been using Blue Lizard for 20 years and now in my 40’s I’m still carded. My Derm sold it in his office back then. I don’t care of any color either. It lasts and without irritation does it’s job. My children have grown up using as well. Great product.
The lizard thing leaves a ehite cast right?
I have a couple of recommendations also.. The Elf Holy Hydration SPF 30 and Olay SPF 15 for days when you're not going in the sun. Both are budget friendly and don't leave a white cast.
I'm in France and bought the La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVmune 400, WOW! Fantabulous. Looks like it's not available in the US, probably going to bring a few back. Thoughts on the ingredients?
Love your channel and your great product reviews! Next time you are comparing product costs can you report cost per ounce? This would allow an apples to apples comparison for us true budget shoppers.
Great idea!
My favourite is the eucerin oil control dry finish , it’s literally a matte finish which I love . Don’t know if you guys like it or not coz it’s a chemical one but it’s great to me
Do you find that it stings your eyes?
@@Roll587 nope , not one bit .
@@LewisLewis10929 amazing!

Not an American or drugstore brand but would love to hear your thoughts on the new Transparent Lab lightweight sunscreen! The ingredient list seems great!
The cerave 50 is thick and gloppy and leaves more than just a cast of white. I love it, though, for cycling. It’s extremely effective and sweat resistant. I’ll take the comically white face while cycling.
Any sunblock is better than none🤷♂️
Yeah but may clog the pores so I rock an umbrella to protect myself from the sun ( currently 1 month on accutaine don’t want to apply much to my skin so it won’t become worse)
Except the ones that break u out
@@superg6787I’d take temporary acne over a sunburn.
@@Jaa_morantMany of them are non-comedogenic. I have very oily, acne prone skin & I use topical tret. I’ve tried tons of sunscreens, I don’t recall any of them breaking me out, but some did irritate my sensitive skin.
@@GoBlueGirl78 yeah I kbow they are probably safe, but I’m just too paranoid and wanna decrease all the risks and for me rocking an umbrella is an option. I also have oily skin, but now it’s just very dry and sensitive due to accutaine. Gosh I hope it helps and revives my life. Problem is red spots that are post acne. Gotta get rid of them somehow once breaking out stops
Appreciate the info it makes sense 😎
One plus of living in Europe is that we've got amazing sunscreens' ingredients and they look just good on skin. European Cerave spf50 is just awesome
Pleeeeease do the best skincare for really oily skin that has: closed comedones, sometimes red pimples, large pores, whiteheads and sebaceous filament🥺🥺🥺
This is my skin type 😅 The best one I've used is from Japan, the Skin Aqua milk version in a small blue bottle. Good luck finding one that suits you! 😊
You left out a very important ingredient for me..... the one that stains my clothed yellow!! Please cover this for us. You guys are great by the way!
