Spoilers The fact the military didn’t know that anomalies move after every emission is probably the most realistic thing in the game. Canonically, the military guns down every stalker they see, and they don’t have a major presence in The Zone. They are trying to contain the zone, not understand it, so they probably don’t know a lot of basic info that any stalker would know.

@@AvalancheReviews Anomaly is definitely the next one you should check out, great free-play and factions are the main components and include all of the different areas from all the other games.
I can't recommend Anomaly mod enough! It's all of the franchise smashed together, with the best parts of them kept in. I love the fact that you can explore the zone from every faction's perspective.
@@AvalancheReviews Anomaly mod is the perfect STALKER sandbox/simulator. But you'll need to install like 20 anomaly mod addons and adddons of addons to get it perfect. It's a rabbit hole for sure. But once you get it just right, it's unlike anything before. Oh and its a modified xray engine on 64 bit and DX11 so you get your headache rays back ;)
@@unarmored9973 ah, interesting usually I play 'vanilla' anomaly and find it to be damn engaging already, which addons would you reccomend and why? and also is the lighting in it basically as good as in clear sky then? always been curious about that all the games have their charm to me, but I sort of look at them in isolation, if the lighting is the same it is very impressive how the modders 'brought it back' if yes. because it definetly is quite nice
Aw fuck yeah love me some Metro. The first two games are two of like maybe 6 games I've ever loved so much that I actually went back and completed multiple times, I'm currently playing through Exodus and it is SUCH a good follow up dude
At least one thing I love about STALKER is that the story is the one YOU tell, from your own interactions with the dynamic and living, breathing world that's rarely predictable
And it does work this way unlike rdr2 with scripted sequences which are repeatable. I can tell so many game situations that never happened to anybody else
I just completed Call of Pripyat and am watching this video while suffering from PGCD - post-game completion depression. Very few games have had this effect on me, the best of which was The Witcher 3
I actually really liked Call of Pripyat’s story, especially how it ties in a lot of side stuff you do. And the ending slide showing how things turned out after you leave was absolutely my favorite part. That ending slide left me very satisfied, seeing how everything I had done effected the world.
@@djbeema The majority of the dev team on the original stalker games have all left to pursue other projects, the core team for the first game left and made the Metro series, and the others that left made survarium. Alot of the ideas from Clear Sky and CoP were left overs from SoC, so I personally think it would be really hard for the new team to mess the new game up, all they have to do is look at what worked with the previous games and expand on it, and from what we've seen they definitely got the atmosphere and the graphics down which in my opinion are key components to the original games.
They already have seemed to nail the atmosphere. Even if they do screw up gunplay or something it's probably nothing that the modding community can't fix. I'm sure we'll have a "Tarkov re-balance" mod by the end of the first week for people that like squishy gameplay (like me). I just hope the thing has easily accessible mod support. The originals made it so hard to mod certain components of the game (Like the maps/levels).
@@djbeema This isn't New Vegas. It's stalker, all they literally have to do is recreate what the older games did, with a new coat of paint and QoL improvements. They don't have to create some new engaging narrative that has a lot of endings for each quest and dialogue as well. So it is very possible for them to pull it off. And if they don't, well, the other 3 games aren't going anywhere. And if Stalker 2 can be modded, you bet the COMMUNITY will make it as good as the first three games.
@@laguna_tuna1579 "all they have to do is look at what worked with the previous games and expand on it" They need a solid first person shooter first. Sounds simple, but how many big budget developers have screwed that up already? The team is new and GSC hasn't shown any actual gameplay footage, so there is still a lot that could go wrong.
You should teview stalker anomaly, that mod was my introduction to the stalker world and omg, what a ride it has been, even without all the story elements that are kind of lost on anomaly
I will never forget my first playthrough, i got a warning for an emission JUST as I picked up the gas canister dead center on the bridge. The closest shelter was the waste processing station (and unknown to me at the time) crawling with high tier mercs. I must've spent hours to finally successfully get to safety and clear them out. What an experience.
If I ever want to describe this franchise in the shortest possible way, I would play the mission where you follow a stalker friend in a zombie infected territory to shoot mercs from the attic of a house, while he casualy talk about zombies like they are good neighbours.
This retrospective was amazing so far, but I feel that it remains incomplete, It would be great if you could cover the most important Stalker standalone Mods that expanded and improved the Vanilla games and carried the stalker franchise into 2021. Mods like Lost Alpha, Anomaly, old good stalker evolution, and Oblivion Lost Remake and of course the call of Chernobyl platform in general
Agreed. I feel like mods such as CoC and Anomaly are worthy of being considered as instalments in the series in their own right, kinda like Stalker 1.5 I guess. Either way they're definitely really influential in the popularity of the series and why it's popularity has continued to grow to this day to an all-time high.
The mods aren't that important to be honest. Don't get me wrong a lot of people play them, but they are like a soup with random mechanics chucked in. Anomaly is an inventory simulator, the appeal of Stalker is navigating the zone and seeing stories naturally unfold, unlike an Elder Scrolls game everyone recommends vanilla before mods.
@@Spaced92 yes and no the thing here is whitout mod the community will probably never have resurfaced that much like now stalker is getting more and more light for Gamma
Call of Pripyat was my first Stalker game and honestly it was great. it was a tense experience that chilled me to the bone with its atmosphere and visuals. one of the factors i kinda liked was simply just the uncanny nature of the game. every character has stiff movement and poor voice acting. whether this was intentional or not it helped make the world seem alien and foreign. i hadn't seen anything like it so coming into the zone seeing stiff lip syncing and weirdly animated characters helped make it seem like i was out of my element in this strange new world. and i absolutely loved it.
I'd really love to see you review the big standalone compilations like Call of Chernobyl. Dr X's Call of the Zone and Anomaly. They are all different answers to "what if Stalker was more open ended?"
I STRONGLY recommend playing with Atmosfear and Absolute Nature. Completely upgrades the environment and visuals and works well with Arsenal Overhaul for a vanilla-like experience that looks and feels much better!
From a fellow veteran stalker to another. Thank you. It’s hard to describe the emotional attachment to the Zone but you hit it perfectly. You can take the stalker out of the Zone, but you can’t take the Zone out of a stalker.
What you're talking about during around 14:35 is exactly why I consider the stalker games to be immersive SIM games. They don't have all the features that an immersive SIM often has, but the simulation aspect is so good.
@@suckassmork2972 he didn't mention that I bet because they delay stalker 2 as much as cyberpunk lmfao, hopefully this time they are sure it's coming in 2022
i remember listening to the stalker guitar tracks back in middle school before i ever even played a stalker game. even then, barely seeing any footage of the game i knew how the game was supposed to feel from those guitar tracks alone and idk i find that commendable
I love stalker series and without them we probably wouldn't have gotten the metro we know. Stalker 2 heat of Chernobyl is hopefully going to be great and I can't wait to see the mods we get a anomoly 2 would be a dream come true
I've never played much fps games aside from cod and stalker , and oh boy ! Listening to someone talking about the zone makes me wanna play the game again. Truly, it brings out so much nostalgia. Thanks brother, I've watched all the three videos.
I have to admit that games of this sort have never been my cup of tea no matter how much I've tried them, but to see the passion fans have fills me with a unique sense of joy, and I'm always happy to come along for the ride when someone makes a whole video essay (or several) on the subject. On the other hand, I might never have played Dead Space or any Resident Evil before 7 without your videos, so who knows? Maybe you've made a future S.T.A.L.K.E.R out of me after all.
I hope that you will make a video on Call of Chernobyl, Lost Alpha and Anomaly mods. It's amazing to see what people did with those games and how developers encourage it on their fb socials.
You should give Gunslinger (mod) a try, im surprised you didnt play with it here because its just so fantastic. It blows Arsonal Overhaul out of the water, not to downplay the work AO put in, but Gunslinger is practically professional.
I loved how easy the game was to mod - in a way. For example: I had a headlamp that was way better then what they had in the game. So I modded it to resemble my headlamp. I added a blue taint, made it shine much further but also narrowed the area it covered. Worked like a charm.
Less of a straight up FPS and more of an Immersive Sim. Just the way I like 'em. We don't have nearly enough immersive sim games in this world. Also, for anyone that doesn't know, get a VR headset and the game Into The Radius for some Stalker-style VR fun.
I first played thru this entire series back in 2007 using touchscreen laptop that didn't even have a GPU in it - and I beat all 3 of them on MASTER difficulty! I never will forget the times. Me and my cousin had heard about these games from G4TV and had hooked both of our non-gaming laptops up at our Mamaw's kitchen table, pirated what we could from Limewire and a week later had finished all campaigns. Haha, I proudly own the GOG collection today of course as does my cousin
One of my favourite stalker moments was when I was replaying CoP and wanted to see what would happen if I refused to give that group of loners the artifact from the first quest. For those who don't know you get tasked with going to a boat that's covered in radiation to get an artifact and bring it back. When you exit the boat you're stopped by a couple guys who tell you their friend is bleeding out and ask if you can give them the artifact to save the friend. You have 3 choices, give it to them, trade them for it, or refuse (if I remember correctly). If you pick the latter 2 they fight you for it. So I usually just give it to them to not deal with the hassle. This last time I wanted to see what happens so I quick saved and reloaded everytime I died. During one of my reloads I heard gun shots from the moment I loaded in. Looking around the door frame I saw the two dudes dead. Confused I walked out to find even more guys around me dead. Turns out a controller spawned in the area and killed them all, and then me. Then I had a good ol laugh. Also that damn lion.
Hell yeah. Been playing through the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series again thanks to your retrospective, and I’m in total awe of your work ethic. Thank you so much for pumping these videos out!!! Always a great watch. We all appreciate it man.
we will cross paths in the future when stalker 2 finally comes along. Your review will be the most important to me since you are the youtuber that really best gets it.
I played and bought stalker soc back when forums were the main way to share the tips, tricks, and secrets. I have hard copies of all 3 games. I may have been 1 of 2 of the very first stalkers to find the elusive 'twilight zone' in clear sky's swamp. There is no game series like this. Truly, an anomaly of art.
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for making this series. You 100% nailed all of the things that make these games so special to me and many STALKER fans. These are games that take quite a bit of work to get into or even mod to your own liking, but it is absolutely work that pays off in terms of immersion and gameplay satisfaction. The more love you put into them , the more it gives back. I recently saw a video that asked "If you could only play one video game for the rest of your life, what would you choose?" and the STALKER series with community mod support was the only thing I could consider. May the zone treat you well.
At 37:07 about the military convoy there is actually a quest revolving around this area, I wont spoil it for you or anything but basically there are a few documents in this area that explain their presence on the bridge, it's interesting to uncover while playing
I’ve held the opinion for years that the STALKER games are essentially Dark Souls games with guns (yes I know they came before) My point is that more fun is taken from exploring that combat (generally) and when combat is engaged in you’re going to die a lot… like… a LOT
Around the broken bridge there is an item that will allow you to way to deal with a certain enemy in a certain quest differently(think of it as the correct way to deal with that quest)
My first experience with this series. I remember the language bugged out and I had to play the game with characters speaking in Ukrainian. Even the subtitles weren't that great. Didn't understand half of what happened but it did feel immersive. Like I was there by myself talking to characters speaking a different language lol And I still remember running into my first storm and getting caught in the open. This is where I fell in love with the series. Can't wait for Stalker 2 !!
An alternative story in my mind would still be that of an undercover soldier, but his goal would be to infiltrate and try his best to destabilize the Zone's factions, especially the big players, so that the military can swoop in and take control again. It can be done in a number of ways: starting conflicts, sabotage, assassinations, some discreet missions to help the army every once in a while, etc. At some point in the story, you get caught by someone important and you have the option to choose to kill him and continue helping the army, thinking that they will get the Zone under control along with the government, or switch sides and try to get as many factions/group together to take on the army since they do figure out at some point that you've gone rogue and launch several attacks against the Zone's groups.
Some of the best games ever made and also some of those I've put most hours into... the games are incredible, open in terms of how you wanna play them - you could stay there forever if you like. I hope - if there ever is gonna be a remake - that at least some of the original creators will be put in charge. Anyway.. I can only agree here - these games are unsurpassed within their genre. (hint : some fans made an Ultimate version that merges all 3 games into 1.. with lots of fixed to the Chernobyl storyline - RECOMMENDED)
Great vid, I’ve beaten CoP at least a few times and still didn’t know about using bolts to check for mines! Have you tried stalker: anomaly? It’s completely standalone, includes maps from every game, is actually more stable than any of the official releases, looks better, and adds so much stuff, I actually ended up modding it on top to remove or reel back a few of the new features. Excellent for a veteran returning to the franchise, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a first playthrough.
I wish the plot treats the Zone with more mystery. Back then I thought the Zone was some sort of eldritch mother nature entity unleashed from man's mistake that is messing with nuke plants. The "zone being alive" protecting itself from trespassers/abuser using it's own antibody(anomalous stuffs) is pretty interesting than another experiment-gone-wrong imo
i like to think of it from the view of something akin to half life’s resonance cascade causing alien races to invade earth. or, even something akin to an SCP, SCP-5000, which talks about a being that inhabits the noosphere and feeds off of humanity. it’s still very much a mystery as to how it works and what it truly is, but i feel the zone is probably some sort of incomprehensible entity that entered or was manifested by those experiments.
@@rightsider as for me, the idea that mother nature is alive waging war against humanity for crossing the line of ruining the earth is kinda unheard of and would have been mind-blowing if they pulled it off here. First time getting into STALKER that's what I thought the plot was xD
You actually totally sold me on this series with your clear sky video, which I think looks really cool idk what people have against it. Only waiting on having a decent rig again to play these
Clear Sky is alright, but it lacked a lot of the things that made SoC great. Think of it like this: Shadow of Chernobyl: the horror game Clear Sky: the FPS Call of Pripyat: the RPG SoC's mood was very dark, desolate and lonely. There were "dungeons" to go through that played like survival horror. The atmosphere was unparalleled. Clear Sky is about faction wars. So you're dealing with clans and gangs and you're not so lonely. There's only one short dungeon, if I remember correctly. It lost the horror atmosphere and desolation. It's very heavily leaning towards just being an FPS in a cool setting. CoP is probably the best of the bunch. It's got all the strengths of both SoC and CS, it's the least buggy, and introduced more RPG and exploration elements. It brought back the "dungeons" and has the best weapon modding system, and artifacts are worth equipping.
Every since watching your first two videos of the STALKER games Ive been waiting patiently for the final video. Can't wait to see what you have to say about one of my favorite games of all time
As someone who has never played any of these games, but knew a lot about their prestige, this entire series really interested me, and as always, who better to do it than Avalanche? Great retrospective series Jared - can safely say you've got me SOLD on S.T.A.L.K.E.R.!
Zaton is an amazing district, still my favourite in the series, great music (the theme of Zaton day). It looks really cool in real life with similar ships half sunk at their moorings.
Whenever I bring this game series up with someone that don't know about it and give a description on how it plays their first reply is "Oh, do you mean Metro?" Its at that point that I smile, pay my respects to Metro and then start their education.. Which used to quite difficult because videos about the series were few and far between. I'll be pointing people this way in the future! Thanks for the excellent string of videos thats got me reinstalling them 😁
Once again a superb video. Very glad that I've stumbled upon your chanel - pretty much binge listend to all your videos for the past two weeks or so? Highly entertaining + they tickle that nostalgia factor just right. Great stuff right here Mr. Avalanche
I played all of these games as they came out as a very young lad. As far as i remember I was just 7 when Shadow Of Chernobyl came out and i was scared shitless of playing it. Can't wait for Stalker 2
Listening to you talk about how Stalker plays kind of like a hardcore shooter makes me think about what I want out of Stalker 2. With GSC saying there will be full mod support for Stalker 2, I'm hoping someone will add ballistics, animations, and sounds from Escape From Tarkov to make Stalker 2 a singleplayer, mutant filled version of the ultra realistic shooter.
these exist for Anomaly if youre interested. between food/drug/drink animation, INERTIA, EFT_footsteps, EFT aim rattle, EFT jump/land sfx, the JSRS pack, Agressor, etc you can get a pretty transformative experience, though i agree i have high hopes for what a STALKER 2 could be with these things also :D

Just had time to catch up with the last 2 videos today and now this drops, Glad to see so much love for stalker Back when the series started I was the only one playing it over Fallout which all my friends were on.
Now that you mention it, its amazing what the devs managed to do with these games being on a yearly release schedule. Compared to AAA published copypaste-athons it didnt actually feel like an easy money grab, so i would've loved to see it continue. But it also kinda did, the modding scene for this game is unlike any other, it really did fill the void of ceased development and i feel like it still might even after the release of STALKER 2

This was a great retrospective series. Great job! Other than the weapon mod you mentioned, were there any graphics mods used for making this video? If not it still holds up pretty well!
After doing the fps games, I'd LOVE to hear Jared's thoughts on Breakdown. Similar-ish story as this (experiments gone awry) with a little bit of jank, but it's Japanese and hardly anyone has ever talked about it. One of the only truly Japanese first person shooters I can think of, as even RE7 had western writers.
@@AvalancheReviews It is, and it's definitely an acquired taste. Perhaps the worst combat ever, but man, the story and movement mechanics get to be a lot of fun. Microsoft has given it unusually high attention by working on it for their backwards compatibility program, so it runs pretty good on later consoles, I hear.
You've gotta try Stalker: Anomaly! It's a standalone mod that combines all of the maps and features from all of the games, plus, a bunch of new guns, gear, and anomalies.
Arghgh! As a masssssssive fan of the metro games, I've always wanted to play these!! Now to watch mah boy Jared's retrospective and see if it holds up
Good news!! I'll be covering Metro as well!
@@AvalancheReviews oh, hell yeah!
@@AvalancheReviews looking forward to that!
@@AvalancheReviews Any plans about Chernobylite after Metro?
Absolutely crazy Video output you have there. Now Let's just hope that Stalker 2 will be as good as the first three Games.
Unless GSC improbably re-hired the dev team, I'm going with a big NO
@@djbeema The majority of the dev team on the original stalker games have all left to pursue other projects, the core team for the first game left and made the Metro series, and the others that left made survarium.
@@laguna_tuna1579 "all they have to do is look at what worked with the previous games and expand on it"
They need a solid first person shooter first. Sounds simple, but how many big budget developers have screwed that up already? The team is new and GSC hasn't shown any actual gameplay footage, so there is still a lot that could go wrong.
After watching all 3 STALKER retrospectives i got the urge to play them again. Thanks brother for the trip down memory lane :) Great work as always!
The first game and pripyat are my favorite in the series. I hope Stalker 2 goes really well.
You should teview stalker anomaly, that mod was my introduction to the stalker world and omg, what a ride it has been, even without all the story elements that are kind of lost on anomaly
this has always been my favorite stalker game
I will never forget my first playthrough, i got a warning for an emission JUST as I picked up the gas canister dead center on the bridge. The closest shelter was the waste processing station (and unknown to me at the time) crawling with high tier mercs. I must've spent hours to finally successfully get to safety and clear them out. What an experience.
If I ever want to describe this franchise in the shortest possible way, I would play the mission where you follow a stalker friend in a zombie infected territory to shoot mercs from the attic of a house, while he casualy talk about zombies like they are good neighbours.
You know it's gonna be a good day when there's a new retrospective video!!
CoC is like an expansion to CoP,
Anomaly is the evolution of CoC
Also Anomaly the best addon support correct me if I'm wrong...
[CoC->CoM->LD->ANOM]
That foreign feeling definitely shines through. Adds to the sense that shit is just a bit off.
I'd really love to see you review the big standalone compilations like Call of Chernobyl. Dr X's Call of the Zone and Anomaly. They are all different answers to "what if Stalker was more open ended?"
i love how this series got so many mods made it FINALLY come back
I STRONGLY recommend playing with Atmosfear and Absolute Nature.
Stalker definitely gets closer to immersive sim than most games. That's for sure.
HOW HAVE I ONLY FOUND YOU NOW?! I love your content! Especially the Silent Hill Retrospective. Have a sub man!
Hey better late than never, right? Good to have ya aboard!
I finished watching your Clear Sky review literally a few seconds ago, and then I see this. YES! YES! YEEEEEES!
You are absolutely pumping out these STALKER vids
It's a labor of love. Honestly, I just really wanted to replay them. Most my content is guided by what I feel like playing that day. HA!
And that's all we will get. Unless he makes a STALKER 2 retrospective/ review.
@avalanchereviews i got into this series thanks to you started my journey with vannila pripyat waiting for mods to hit xbox
There are no bugs in STALKER, only anomalies
This was a great retrospective, loved these reviews, I’m so looking forward to stalker 2 and your review/retrospective on it!
Awesome, been looking forward to this video!
Call of pripyat was such a good one man, and the foundation for the best mods of this series
we will cross paths in the future when stalker 2 finally comes along.
I thrilled to hear that man! I genuinely worry that I won't do a good enough job trying to distill all this into something digestible.
Mines are indeed bumps on an otherwise smooth surface.
Thanks for doing this series of videos, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise really needs more recognition.
At 37:07 about the military convoy there is actually a quest revolving around this area, I wont spoil it for you or anything but basically there are a few documents in this area that explain their presence on the bridge, it's interesting to uncover while playing
I’ve held the opinion for years that the STALKER games are essentially Dark Souls games with guns (yes I know they came before)
My point is that more fun is taken from exploring that combat (generally) and when combat is engaged in you’re going to die a lot… like… a LOT
Around the broken bridge there is an item that will allow you to way to deal with a certain enemy in a certain quest differently(think of it as the correct way to deal with that quest)
Ok, now you have my interest. I gotta know what you're talking about. Is it the key to the gas canister for the bloodsuckers?
Once again, thank you for covering CS and COP!
It's my pleasure!!
Man, you are just on top of these reviews. Nice job.
At some point in the story, you get caught by someone important and you have the option to choose to kill him and continue helping the army, thinking that they will get the Zone under control along with the government, or switch sides and try to get as many factions/group together to take on the army since they do figure out at some point that you've gone rogue and launch several attacks against the Zone's groups.
cool idea.
It sucks
So excited to see this! Been waiting for you to do call of pripyat for what feels like ages.
Great vid Jared👍 you are costing me money with all these great games that you cover. I plan to play through the series over Christmas ⛄
Putting spoilers into a chapter I can skip easily on mobile devices is a godsend, thank you Jared
THERE IT IS THE CULMINATION GAME, also last time until April 2022 then we get another go at the zone
That misery opening house will forever be burned into my mind.
You actually totally sold me on this series with your clear sky video, which I think looks really cool idk what people have against it.
Only waiting on having a decent rig again to play these
Clear Sky is alright, but it lacked a lot of the things that made SoC great. Think of it like this:
Shadow of Chernobyl: the horror game
Clear Sky: the FPS
Call of Pripyat: the RPG
SoC's mood was very dark, desolate and lonely.
Can't wait to see what you have to say about one of my favorite games of all time
Hell yes!!!
As someone who has never played any of these games, but knew a lot about their prestige, this entire series really interested me, and as always, who better to do it than Avalanche? Great retrospective series Jared - can safely say you've got me SOLD on S.T.A.L.K.E.R.!
Now that's what I like to hear!!! Good luck Stalker!
Please review Stalker Anomaly! I dont want this to end!!
Zaton is an amazing district, still my favourite in the series, great music (the theme of Zaton day). It looks really cool in real life with similar ships half sunk at their moorings.
One of my all time favorite games. I replay it every couple of years.
Whenever I bring this game series up with someone that don't know about it and give a description on how it plays their first reply is "Oh, do you mean Metro?"
Its at that point that I smile, pay my respects to Metro and then start their education..
Avalanche
Happy to hear that man! I get so much out of making these videos. It puts a smile on my face when people get something out of em too.
Okay just finished watching your last two stalker videos now time to start this one
I played all of these games as they came out as a very young lad. As far as i remember I was just 7 when Shadow Of Chernobyl came out and i was scared shitless of playing it. Can't wait for Stalker 2
I was like 20 when I first played SoC and I was scared shitless too. HA!
I remember the first time I killed a Bloodsucker with my combat knife.
I felt very powerful.
It was amazing.
@@DieForDethklok11 they sure do! Been playing the crap out of Anomoly ever since I happened across Wavey's videos on it. I can't see myself playing it without Boomsticks and Sharpsticks now. It's about all I play right now, and I'm learning a ton about modding that I never used to know before thanks to Anomoly
@@SplashingMANGO yes BaS is great! i shouldve thrown that in that list also, considering its got a few tarkov features built in like the offset optics. last time i tried playing either SPTarkov or EmuTarkov i cant remember, but my pc has a hell of a time running it so Anomaly has been my timesink as of late as well. impossible for me not to get excited at the potential STALKER 2 has, even if i have to remind myself to temper those expectations now and then. stay safe in the zone stalker ☢

@@tlap1508 ive seen the name come up before but never looked too deep as ive run into issues with prepackaged modlists in the past. looking now it seems a lot of the mods included are actually in the modlist ive pieced together myself but theres a few odds and ends i havent seen before. ive currently got a merc in the zone so once his journey wraps up ill give the pack a shot, thanks for the recommendation
i started with the metro games but YOU got me into the stalker games got em on steam for a steal and i have a new favorite series now THANK YOU
You have to do a forth video on the insane modding community as well. Anomaly is absolutely INSANE!!
heck yes, I love me some new Avalanche Reviews
Night night : )
Never knew much about post-game portion of the game, beside new task givers and new-old locations from legendary SGM mods.
The last time I played COP - I used the Gunslinger mod. It was a blast.
Just had time to catch up with the last 2 videos today and now this drops,
Glad to see so much love for stalker
Back when the series started I was the only one playing it over Fallout which all my friends were on.
Same here!! I played SoC first, so I pretty much ruined FO3 for myself.
@@AvalancheReviews 100% lol
Literally everyone I knew was asking why I’m not enjoying F3 and I’m like… “we’ll here is a better game”
I’m halfway through Clear Sky because of your content. If you’re ever in Utah for some fucking reason let me buy you a drink.
I hope you try NLC 7 one day. It is by far the best STALKER experience story and balance wise.
God, let's both hope so!!!
Just finished the three videos. What an incredible analysis of this great series!
Loved these retrospectives, great work!
You NEED to cover Anomaly / Call of Chernobyl etc, as I think something like Anomaly is worthy as an instalment in the series all on its own - especially as it's a free standalone download with a unique modified engine!
I'm actually working on an Anomaly video right now.

I thought you could use a pickmeup
Can't wait for the Anomaly retrospective especially since they just updated it (finally)
Been looking forward to this. I really enjoy this series.
This was a great retrospective series. Great job! Other than the weapon mod you mentioned, were there any graphics mods used for making this video? If not it still holds up pretty well!
It's quite fascinating the way that STALKER is able (to a point) to have glitches be part of its world by being set in a world that is "anomalous".
That's that game on the OG Xbox, right? Always wanted to try it.
You can also play as any faction with semi-randomly generated storylines and side quests. Definitely my favorite stalker experience in 2021!
I wanna try anomaly but im generaly a paranoid person so trusting random modding websites is *hard*
@@cryzone2376 I can vouch for MOD DB, been using it for years and never had an issue. But, of course, don't do anything you're not comfortable with.
@@tenderfoot9768 i will probably do the usual and test it out on my old laptop first before i trust anything with my main pc
