The worst part of it was the Navy was entirely on board with sinking Eddie even though they knew the charges were false because everyone who participated in this case was looking at padding their resume. It wasn't until Trump came in and got the conviction dropped. The worst part, the commander who encouraged this mess ended up being promoted by Biden and now is basically the second most powerful man in the military now. Also as a side note, if you are concerning yourself with pay, the military is not for you. The military doesn't pay shit. You join because you want to be there.

I don’t have any experience in special operations. I was commissioned and sent to Artillery OBC right after the first gulf war. No special schools for us, the army was shrinking fast. What I’ve seen though is 13 years of war in Iraq and 20 years in Afghanistan gave everyday men the opportunity to lead and show amazing heroism. I’m sure 95% of the Naval special operations community are straight shooters, guys who serve by the book, but this much warfare allows tools like Eddie Gallagher to float to the top. The list of his known atrocities is long. He only escaped NCIS and the UCMJ because our mafioso president intervened. Eddie’s defense of his actions illuminate even more war crimes, and serve to shame us in the eyes of the world. He belongs in Leavenworth, not selling vitamins.
