      Merci! Si jamais j'ai des problèmes avec le M119, je ferai plus de vidéos dessus. Si vous avez besoin de savoir quoi que ce soit sur l'une des vidéos ou si vous voulez demander quoi que ce soit, n'hésitez pas à demander.
      J'ai utilisé Google Translate pour j'espère que tout cela a du sens.

    to be honest, the best way to check fluid on a 400E..........if you are just idling the engine, the fluid should be about 0.4 inch below the minumum mark ( transmission fluid temperature : between 68 and 86 degrees)....To check the level fully : drive the car for about 30 minutes on highway , so the trans fluid gets to 176 degrees, then level should be at MAX ( 2nd mark) :) ;)

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  2 роки тому +2

      That's good information. I checked it how I've always checked it on every car that I've done a transmission service on. Which, admittedly might have not been 100% accurate for this application. Either way, the fluid level is way better now than the 2 inches above MAX lol. It's weird because I had checked it initially and it was below the LOW mark and so topped it off. Seems I added way more than I thought.

    Always interesting to see the underside of a V8 w124 - they don't exist in the RHD world, we have i think 2 x 500E's in the whole of Australia.

      That would be a fun conversion. I assume it wouldn't be too difficult to do. Unless the 6 cyl engine bay is different. I know the coupe engine bay is.

      @@ChristopheZ I'm already toying with the thought of an LS swap. More power and better fuel economy. Even here in super strict California, it is a legal motor swap. The physical size of the LS is smaller than the M119. It would probably fit in the 6 cyl engine bay.

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  2 роки тому +1

      @@ChristopheZ for the engine it is, it really doesn't get terrible mileage. If I'm gentle with it, I can get 20mpg on a tank during the work week. On long trips I've gotten 22mpg. I have a 2012 Mazda5 that only gets a few mpg better so 22mpg in a 30 year old v8 isn't bad.

    Nice video! Unfortunately you do not drain the Oil from the converter, which was the info/knowledge I was hoping to get from your content. Looks like the y-pipe has to be disassembled? :(

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  11 місяців тому

      I didn't drain the torque converter because the fluid came out in very good condition. All you have to do to drain it is rotate the engine until the drain plug is pointing downward and remove the drain plug.

    You forgot the torque converter which also has a drain plug. Also, the red atf at the dealer is not suitable for this trans. Dex3 is the spec but nowadays it cannot be found. Dex4/merc is the next best possible option at the moment. Using synthetic atf in the .3/4/5 is generally not recommended.

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  2 роки тому +1

      I did not forget the torque converter. I didn't drain it because the condition of the fluid that was drained was still good. It was still very red and clean. The red ATF we use at the dealer meets the specifications for this transmission as well.

      It may have issues. It's kind of hard to tell. I would definitely put the seals where they go. At minimum, you won't be filtering the fluid. Why did you do a transmission service? Were you having issues or just doing it as preventative maintenance?
