I planned an iPhone upgrade this year but I’m so impressed with Apple’s new eco friendly strategy that I will support their vision by not buying one at all.
Iphoney is more appealing though,it doesn't even have a camera ,for digital well being .Apple's environment and charger relation is nothing in front of that
This is a bit of demagogy. Apple's phones are the most repaired phones altogether, Apple releases the fewest models of all big manufacturers and they support their phones the longest. Meaning that fewer phones and parts actually end up in the waste.

It's forcing you to buy the mag safe chargers. If they really wanted to reduce carbon footprint, they should've put a type-c connector on the phone. Everybody has a type-c cable and charger that comes with android devices.

Actually it is for the environment. Also, this makes the box much smaller, allowing more units to be shipped at once. And of course they sell the separately! That is not the point though. The point is that you don’t get a completely pointless one in the box if you already have one. Obviously they sell them so if yours breaks or something, you have the option to get another.
The headphone jack is enormously popular. Apple: OK, we'll remove that. No-one likes that stupid bezel at top of the screen. Apple: We'll never remove that.
@DIO if you had an option to check box whether you need the headphone jack or not in your high end flagship device, be it android or iOS, I don't think a single person will opt out of it. Android's following the trend, it's just because iphones pulls of with that shit, so why not us mentality..none of these decisions are favouring customers like me or you. With a little bit of extra effort squishing in a headphone jack is not that difficult (but let's believe it's for saving space) but simultaneously announcing their own wireless earphones as a solutions is straight forward shady. I do use wireless buds. But I enjoy my headphone jack as well. It's nice to have an alternative (which is a super standard thingy in the audio section)

I think it's fine. If you have the previous year's model, don't buy the new one. But if you have an older iPhone like the iPhone 7 for example, then you can weigh in on your options if you're gonna get the iPhone 12 or 11. Know what I mean?

Will not happen. Higher drop resistance, means the hardness is lower. You might hear scratches at a leve 5 with deeper grooves at level 6 - though not likely. Remember apples "sapphire" like glass for the cameras ? Still scratched at level 6 with deeper grooves at level 7.
They think right, but do wrong. Why try so hard to improve wired charging, instead of developing technology to not need it. Same with screens for example. Why try to make the most pixels or frames, instead of developing a fpsless and pixelless screen? Unlimited fps and pixels. Everything is possible, it's just a matter of finding it out

They'll need not just the phone, but also a solid and reliable method of data transfer, plus a way to charge the phone while using it. Right now, Apple is the only company with a decent solution for both wireless data transfer and an inductive charging that sticks to the phone when you pick it up.

They can’t say they got rid of the charging brick for “environmental reasons” when they’re the only company that makes devices that requires the lightning connector. How many usb to lightning charging cables are out there in the world? Way more than the amount of charging bricks out there considering people buy additional lightning charging cables more often than the actual charging brick. If they just use usb-c for ALL their devices then that would be better for the environment!
It's weird cause my ipad pro 2020 is USB-c. It shocked and impressed me, I thought they were going to be shifting all their devices to that direction. I thoroughly enjoy only needing to bring one cord with me for my phone, tablet and switch console lol

It's to save battery because they made battery smaller cause ios 14 will do the work. And it's not even nessesary anyways. It'll drain your battery. I'm currently using s9. And im always using 720p cause it saves battery than 1440p.

@DIO if you had an option to check box whether you need the headphone jack or not in your high end flagship device, be it android or iOS, I don't think a single person will opt out of it. Android's following the trend, it's just because iphones pulls of with that shit, so why not us mentality..none of these decisions are favouring customers like me or you. With a little bit of extra effort squishing in a headphone jack is not that difficult (but let's believe it's for saving space) but simultaneously announcing their own wireless earphones as a solutions is straight forward shady. I do use wireless buds. But I enjoy my headphone jack as well. It's nice to have an alternative (which is a super standard thingy in the audio section)

I think it's fine. If you have the previous year's model, don't buy the new one. But if you have an older iPhone like the iPhone 7 for example, then you can weigh in on your options if you're gonna get the iPhone 12 or 11. Know what I mean?
They do this because:
Usually, an average person doesn't upgrade every year,
let's say they upgrade every 4 years.
If every year there's a small upgrade, then it'll eventually become a bigger upgrade with an older phone and therefore a better reason to upgrade.

How many usb to lightning charging cables are out there in the world? Way more than the amount of charging bricks out there considering people buy additional lightning charging cables more often than the actual charging brick. If they just use usb-c for ALL their devices then that would be better for the environment!

As someone who is not an Apple Fan at all, I have to say I like the way the IPhone 12 looks. It looks like a proper IPhone again.
I went from an Note 9 to a 12 Pro Max. I just wanted a change from Samsung for the last 6 years. So far I like what Apple has done here.

Macbooks have USB C, Ipads have USB C, All Android flagships have USB C, All flagship laptops/pc have USB C. Iphone decided to keep the lightning cable this year.

That doesn´t even make sense because the Cable is USB-C but most users have a USB-A Cable. So they have to buy a Charger anyway. (BTW: The packaging for Apple cables and chargers are way to wasteful! If they want to reduce enviromental impact they should make less wasteful packaging for their chargers too)

@@steveno7058 For some people they've grown up either without a phone or they have an android so when they buy themselves an iPhone they're going to need that charger and brick if someone is getting their first iPhone and they want one of the 12's they're gonna have to either buy the brick separately or get an older iPhone instead of one of the 12's.
