Congratulations to Duran Duran for being inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame 2022. So well deserved.
My Sister passed away a few days ago at the age of 53 from cancer . She was a massive Duran Duran fan ever since we are kids . This music will always remind me of her and us growing up

It’s a terrible, awful song. It’s like Bryan Adams’ Everything I Do (I Do It For You), a 90s slow ballad that’s stuck in the 80s and can’t adapt. There is literally no difference between the two.

Not one of their best songs but the best ever song alongside COME UNDONE I was 7 or 8 years when that song came out although my introduction to them was “hungry like a wolf”

Yeah, it's a tough one. Back then it was so rare for a song to debut at number one.. but I wouldn't place it in their top 10 songs. My fave DD song is New Moon On Monday and it didn't get a mention either

Thanks for the playlist. So many great hits and memories. We all have our personal favourites and there's some amazing material to choose from. Save a Prayer, Ordinary World, Come Undone, Rio, Reflex, Is There Anyone Out There ... it goes on. Just grateful I lived through this music.
Man, those exotic locale videos from the Rio album really bring back memories of waiting for MTV to play a Duran video in the early 80's...when a Duran video came on, everyone in the room stopped what they were doing to watch...glad to have been a teenager back then and happy that Duran Duran was there to make it special! :D
Those videos were shot in my country in 1982. I could not believe I only found out a few days ago. I found new love for Save A Prayer, Hungry Like a Wolf and Lonely In Your Nightmare, haha. I'm glad the videos brought back memories, and Its so nice to hear the comments by you, and watchmojo as well. Even if Sri Lanka didn't amount to much in international pop music this is quite huge :P.
I remember watching these videos when I was a kid. I lived in the middle of boring cornfields in the middle of wisconsin at the time. Their videos gave me a chance to see really neat exotic locations that I probably would never see in my life. It was such a joy to see one of their videos on tv.
Rajith, absolutely...I am sure that there are many more people out in the world that know about Sri Lanka's fame as the location for the best Duran videos. I remember learning about Sri Lanka as a 13 year old because Duran Duran shot their beautiful videos there. :)

I met Simon on the KISS cruise last year, he's a heck of a nice guy. He's very humble, and down to earth. He really seems to miss performing, and was thrilled to know we knew who he was.
How can he miss performing? They seem to be on tour more often now than ever.
Ordinary World is by far their best song, it changed the face of the group and gave them new life

I have loved Duran Duran ever since I can remember. Their music is outstanding, they have excellent, beautiful voices and the men are so handsome it isn't even funny. They look like princes in a fairy tale book. I wish I knew them personally. I'm sure every
young woman in the world would love to have one of the Duran Duran guys as a boyfriend or husband.

Josh Hales ditto that! They started right at their best. And then, it just got too big to hold it together. But they were a great band - still are - but they have not topped those two albums yet.
The Chauffeur was definitely their most underrated song ever!!!! It deserved to be on this list.
I bet a lot don't know the dancer was Pegy Lister, and one time fincee of BillY Idol and his baby's mama.

I love Duran Duran. I would've put a couple of album tracks on there, but all in all that's a pretty good list. My favorite DD song is 'Last Chance on the Stairway'.

I'm generally more of a fan of the rock from that era, but New Moon On Monday is an incredible song that I can't help bobbing my head to when listening.

Their best song in my opinion, but I've never been a big fan of Duran Duran I just guess it's a popular opinion of people who are more rock n roll orientated and have heard the Deftones cover version.

Great list, Duran Duran for life!;) loved them as a kid, and still a fan now. As a kid I loved the sound, the exotic locales, adventures, costumes, and all the pretty girls, some of the videos were like mini movies, what great memories.Thanks WatchMojo;)

All Duran Duran songs are great, but the best in my mind were 2 album fillers on Rio. Just listen to the great writing of the songs 'Last chance on the stairway' and 'lonely in your nightmare'. Truly best Duran Duran.

It came out after I'd moved on to rock and metal, so I didn't hear it until years later. And yes, it probably is the best song they've ever written.

I love Duran Duran. Their music really reminds me of the more.....artsy, decadent scene of the 80's. Listening to their music makes me think of being in LA or Miami, in an ultra-modern house or condo overlooking the ocean, with white walls, white carpets, and black furniture, surrounded by very beautiful and sleek mysterious women who always look as if they just took a shower or came out of a pool. If anyone is familiar with the artist Patrick Nagel, you'll understand the type of woman I'm talking about. In fact, one of Nagel's women was on the cover of the Rio album.
Sounds like materialistic, artificial bourgeois nonsense, and just what grunge rightfully destroyed.
“Artsy decadent” was my experience in the 80s. It was an amazing place in time. I was blessed with so many outrageous things. The music is legendary. Need I say more? X

Reflex is my all time favorite. There was a bit of a different version on the Union of the Snake album.

I know it isn't technically Duran Duran but Election Day from Arcadia should be on there somewhere.
You're right. I love "Election Day" too, soundwise it was the logical follow up to "A View To A Kill" since they share the same kind of sounds and James Bond vibe.
And to me "Goodbye Is Forever" and "The Flame" are pure Duran Duran sound as well. They're all in my DD TOP favorites with "Union Of The Snake", "New Moon On Monday" "The Reflex" "The Wild Boys" "Vertigo" "(Reach Up For The) Sunrise" "I Don't Want Your Love" and more.

At least one really good modern band covered it, the band RED covered it in 2009, and it's amazing (now if only that band wasn't underrated as well) so hopefully more people will know the Duran Duran version after that
