    Honestly tip 3 is one of the biggest wow moments I’ve ever had watching golf videos. I’ve always struggled with the concept of releasing and couldn’t understand how to do it correctly.
    Showing the difference between flipping and releasing as you did has made it so simple and clear on what I need to do now. Really exciting! Presumably this works the same for irons too? Thank you!

    Outstanding, Andy. And really well explained - both the what and why. These tips are coming at the perfect time for me, and appear so much more doable for my skill level. Great video, very helpful. The turning of the shoulder was eye-opening. Question, do I want my lead shoulder to turn and align the same way (near the trail foot) with my irons?

    • @meandmygolf.
      @meandmygolf.  10 місяців тому +1

      Similar yes. We just want to make sure we stay a little more centred with irons as we want the low point to be after the ball. It's not the end of the world if we move slightly off the ball in the back swing with the driver as we want to sweep it.

    Have been working on this for years after watching vids of Hogan and seeing the same head backward move from one of our best (and longest) club players. I had always heard "keep the head still" (certainly helpful for putting, chipping, pitching) but robs distance and smoothness for longer clubs like the driver; may also be harmful to the lower back. My biggest problem now is releasing the club without hooking or getting the big push to the right.

    • @meandmygolf.
      @meandmygolf.  10 місяців тому

      Yes keeping the head still on the longer stuff only inhibits motions and freedom in the swing. Hope this was useful James.

  • @davidquinn7144

    • @meandmygolf.
      @meandmygolf.  10 місяців тому

      It depends on the speed of the player. 8 is a lot though. It all depends on spin rate also. What is your spin and speed?

    Would all 3 these tips help with iron play as well?

    • @meandmygolf.
      @meandmygolf.  10 місяців тому

      It all depends on the person and what they struggle with. For someone who leaves the face really open through the ball then tip 3 can work with irons yes. Tip 1 you have to be careful with as we want a more centred pivot. You can get away with moving slightly off the ball with the driver as we want to hit up and the ball is teed up. Obviously we want a downward hit with an iron so staying centred (with good rotation) is so key.
