Tried the double over lap (had to google what it looks like), and the swing fast stop quick. Double overlap, feels very weird but definitely felt like my hands were melt together. Swing fast and stop quick, it gives me the green light to swing fast! I usually swing very slow.
I met PH in 2009 when her was on top of the golfing world. He was so humble and cool. He talked to me for over ten min and was genuinely interested in what was going on in my life as opposed to his. My favorite golfer hands down…
Mr. Harrington is exactly what golf requires, no B.S. tons of energy and he actually gives us the pearls of a golf swing and shows the progression of the golf swing! I could listen to him all day, that’s years of failure and sweat and tears to get to be a major champion!
Padraig's tips are fantastic, and the enthusiasm with which he delivers them is infectious. That’s the quietest you two (Andy & Piers) have ever been on one of your videos. I love Paddy's Golf Tips.
I love Paddy's channel. An absolute treasure trove of information. There's plenty of golden nuggets in his videos. This is just another gem that I'm sure his fellow playing competitors should be watching. Well done!!
Stopping at 12:03 to say that I love this man. =) So much passion that he couldn't stop himself if he tried. If the day ever comes when Padraig can do what Watson almost did, I'll open a bottle of champagne. Go for it! All the best!
We must protect Paddy at all costs.. the man is a living legend..not just an amazing golfer but one of the nicest people in sport full stop. I'll be backing you Paddy come open time. Definitely another major in you 💪⛳🔥🔥
This guy is a gem for us casuals. To hear an elite professional say, "this is popular but it isn't for amateurs; do this instead!" frees up so much headspace for average players like myself. Case in point, his 'active hands and wrists' videos sort of gave me permission/confidence to commit to being handsy (which felt more natural). I practiced on the mat after watching, and the next day, I scored 4 strokes lower my average. I've been scoring lower since then. I know 4-6 strokes isn't a lot for some, but as a beginner, it's a big confidence boost. Now I'm trying to tighten my chipping and his videov #1 is one of my primary references. I'm a fan and a grateful beneficiary of Paddy's passion for the game. Thank you, Mr. Harrington! PS: I also watch your videos, Piers and Andy! Haha! Cheers from the Philippines!
Had absolutely the same thing happen after watching his lesson on being more “wristy” in the swing. Can’t believe how much distance and accuracy I was leaving on the table because I was obsessed with using the body to release the club and not “flipping” the hands through impact. Also the tip he shared here about trying to keep your back to the target as long as possible is the best feeling I’ve ever had to stop from coming over the top.
Well, this just blew the crap out of my driver swing concepts. It is so liberating to see Padraig grip it 'n' rip it. Speed is King. I took this to the range this morning, teed the ball a bit higher, sped up my arms and my hands - UP-DOWN-UP, and honestly hit the ball down the middle, 30-40 yards farther than I ever hit the driver in my life, and as a 77-year-old former 2-hdcp golfer, that's saying a lot. This instruction is absolute gold! I'd been trying to "steer" the ball down the middle instead of loosening up and letting my arms and hands generate speed and power. I don't know how this will translate to the course, but we'll see. Thank you!
I absolutely love Paddy's passion. And his enthusiasm for giving 'average' golfers the information they need, vs. what elite players need, is awesome. He has done that ever since he started his channel, and should be lauded for it. This video is full of gold, and that includes Paddy himself 😊
Thats the best collaboration ive ever seen , pure gold .. best advice for me is “back to the target ant get those hands moving “ So so relevant to where i am atm . No ones more down to earth honest than padraig , mixed with you guys determination to make us better - thats all the driving lessons you need in one video . Where are my clubs !
Padraig is a much loved sports star and home in Ireland. He’s a great legend and is giving back so much to the game reaching people all over the world with his tips. His humour and straight talking makes him very relatable to the average weekend warrior as he calls it 👏👏👏👏
Gentlemen.....this maybe your best !! Congratulations to Padraig .......a terrific - courageous 2nd act and we are all looking forward to His 3rd & 4th act.
Absolute gems in that video. I’m going to be checking out and following Padraig from now on. Thanks for getting the info out. And Padraigs’ enthusiasm is infectious.
Padraig is absolutely a phenomenal player and coach, never missing a video from him. Loved this video and how he has absolutely passion for golf. We need more people like him sharing ideas to improve golf. Greetings from South Africa 🏌🏻🏌🏻🏌🏻🇿🇦
Paddy’s enthusiasm jumps off of the screen! The man is a true champion and in his 50’s hitting it past the young boys. This makes him a threat to win a PGA event if he ever decided to split his time between the Champions tour. 👍
That was absolute gold. I have to watch this before each round and range session. Im 48 and out drive most guys i play with but it can always get faster. And btw big thanks to you two for bringing great content to us.
Love it. I was told when picking up the game at an older age (40+) not to swing so hard. Well, hitting it easier didn't make the slice go away, but I kinda did figure it out and the ball is staying relatively well in play. My goal is to hit some effin' bombs this summer. Maybe a ball or two will be lost doing so, but that's OK, I think.
Paddy is right about the open chest. So many Instagram instructors are teaching open positions but they aren’t teaching speed with the true speed sources. The hands, wrists, and arms are the foundation of 90% of speed. 99% of golfers aren’t as flexible as Rory or DJ. However, most golfers can reach 100 mph of driver speed with speed training and an understanding of speed.
I've been watching Paddy's golf tips for the past few weeks and it has definitely helped my swing. I find his drills and tips about feels to be much easier to remember and practice.
Great video I went to the range and tried this and according to the range Trackman I went from hitting it my usual 240-250 to 260-270 with no loss of accuracy (not that I’ve ever been particularly accurate). Let’s see how it goes on the course now🤞
Thanks for the incredible tips. Once my rotator cuff is fully healed after surgery, I will be working on increasing my driver distance! I also enjoy watching Padraig play on the Champions Tour, and wish him continued success.
Thanks Paddy! Love „keep it short and hit it fast/hard“ I had my best shots that way but struggled with my sometimes open club face. To fix it i took lessons snd stopped cause literally every pro told me to lengthen my backswing which i just can‘t, i am just not able to because it destabilises me.
Thanks guys-wonderful video by a great champion. This suggests that we should have a different swing for our driver and our irons since with the driver we're trying to max our distance vs accuracy with our irons ?
Awesome content. So , I am a super beginner at golf. This question may sound stupid but , when your swinging down , do you look at the ball or down range where your trying to send it ? I know from y’all’s videos you say you need to let the loft of the club to the work and stay consistent with your swings and drives , but I’m still figuring out how to get the ball down to where it needs to be. In some sports you look where you want it to go , and in others you look elsewhere. So , with golf … lol where do I look ?!
They called him Padre I think, most golfers call him Paddy including Shane Lowry & Tiger, if I met him I would call him Padraig out of respect, but really enjoyed the content as usual👍
Didn’t recognize them wearing different clothes for once - Mr Harrington is a great ambassador for golf and offers some great ideas here ( a little reluctantly) but great ideas
I am a professional golfer. His best advice was if you are amateur ignore the mainstream golf tips and lessons as they are geared towards the elite. An amateur swing is different. Spot on!
70% of the power is in the hands? wow, Ben Hogan and Moe Norman talked about the hands and arms moving as one unit.. I might try to be more handsy in the drive from now on... I hit it 280
I'm soon to be 61 years old and I challenge Padraig to a long drive contest (uh-oh, me and my big mouth). I won't ask for a age handicap, I don't need one because I am fit and strong like Andy.. I only request that Padriag provide thirty minutes of pointers to get me dialed in - and then he and I swing away for the trophy of the day. Deal?
So much gold in this video, we hope you enjoyed it! Let us know down below which tip you liked the most🤯🏌🏻♂👇
Been loving Paddy's golf tips since he began them. Some of the best youtube golf tips you can find. Glad you are spreading his wiosdom!
Tried the double over lap (had to google what it looks like), and the swing fast stop quick. Double overlap, feels very weird but definitely felt like my hands were melt together. Swing fast and stop quick, it gives me the green light to swing fast! I usually swing very slow.
that guy is a joke..51 🤣🤯🤯 absolute bomber
Came down to comments to say he's gold - absolute gold!

Totally agree. So much amazing content in here. We could have listened all day.
Padraig is an absolute legend. Back to back Opens in ‘07 and ‘08 and also won the PGA in ‘08. That’s a damn good stretch of golf. Listen to this man!
It was amazing to spend time with him. He's so passionate about the game. We did a match with him coming soon also. So much fun.
@@meandmygolf. where do we get one of those black vests from? Looks amazing. Even if it’s not your brand embroidered. Where can I pick one up please
Padraig's tips are fantastic, and the enthusiasm with which he delivers them is infectious. That’s the quietest you two (Andy & Piers) have ever been on one of your videos. I love Paddy's Golf Tips.
He really is Chris. When someone comes on like Padraig, we shut up and listen😂😂
Love every single thing about this video. He don’t hold back and really share his thought loud and clear
I love Paddy's channel. An absolute treasure trove of information. There's plenty of golden nuggets in his videos. This is just another gem that I'm sure his fellow playing competitors should be watching. Well done!!
Awesome to have him on the channel and share his knowledge. Really enjoyed this one. Hope you did too.

What a wonderful guy Paddy is. Loves golf so much and just wants to get others playing better. Thanks so much for this.
Paddy you are the best, there’s nothing else left to say. No one comes close to saying what you are teaching, I just love your style.

Just wowed on the level of information Padraig has summed up and demonstrated in one video !! Great content !!
Paddy is an absolute legend!! Love this guy
Paddy's excitement and love of the game are so amazing after so many years of playing!

Always love Paddy's videos. So passionate, feels like he'd absolutely jump out of his skin to share what he's discovered. Thanks!
Brilliant passion after so many years.... got to love Padraig!
Love the passion that Padraig shows for golf

Been following Paddy since he started. Best instructor on youtube
This is absolute gold I'm 1 of the golfers mr Harington was talking about I have plenty of speed but suffer with a slice
Love it. I was told when picking up the game at an older age (40+) not to swing so hard. Well, hitting it easier didn't make the slice go away, but I kinda did figure it out and the ball is staying relatively well in play. My goal is to hit some effin' bombs this summer. Paddy was so chill and focused when I followed him round the Alfred Dunhill but I love his enthusiasm when he gets riled-up!!
Padraig just dropped so much gold!
Amazing!!

Paddy legit has some of the best instruction out there, he always has at least 1 nugget I have never heard before
knowing how to swinging a golf club and playing golf are two different things padraig knows how to do both which is a rare thing indeed great video
Thanks you si much for you

Absolutely Brilliant to listen to you boys & mr Harrrington talking about golf cheers from the Astbury
Priceless👏👏
Brilliant. Saved to watch again later 👍🏼💪🏼👌🏼
This is the guy I keep looking for on the senior tour. He's somewhat unorthodox but that's why I like watching him play.
Love it! Thanks so much!
Simply the best!
This man is gold.
Padraig's channel has a lot golf great videos. I learned so much from him. Thanks guys for giving us this video.
Our pleasure Andy
I've been watching Paddy's golf tips for the past few weeks and it has definitely helped my swing. I find his drills and tips about feels to be much easier to remember and practice.
Great to hear!
many good tings being mentioned here! 🇮🇪
I started watching Padraig's channel recentl. Lots of good instruction.
great video. love these tips direct from the players mouth.
Absolute class , and a true Gent.

Paddy is the best!
That was the best video I’ve seen on how to increase clubhead speed.
Gold! 🔥🏌
I enjoyed this!
PADDY is the Gary Player of the 2000's. Lean and strong and full if useful golf knowledge
What a font of knowledge, he's getting better (and faster) with age.
That was brilliant.
Thanks guys-wonderful video by a great champion. This suggests that we should have a different swing for our driver and our irons since with the driver we're trying to max our distance vs accuracy with our irons ?
325 plus carry at 50-plus is just ridiculous! Who does that? Absolutelý amazing!
Very entertaining and informative, well done on getting the ‘peoples’ champion’ on your great channel. Padraig rules ok !!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you Paddy
this guy is gold
I'll bet it did.😄 you's guys ROCK!
Fun and informative video. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it James
Dont normally comment on these vids but that was class
Tried this on the range, it helps to hit the driver
Paddy H is just brilliant
Paddy is a mega teacher, obviously loves the game of golf!
Great vid!! now I just got to think of all these tips in my head whilst I swing haha

Top banana paddy. Best laymens instructions vids ever.
Excellent video and recommend his other content. It's something that most amateurs with some practice can learn to do.
Couldn't agree more!
Honest golf tips
Wonderful
Gotta love Padraigs enthusiasm for the game !!
But you should of reminded him to breath !!
😂😂 he's going 10
To the dozen and ya can hear him gasping
Ya Tink he knows a few tings?!? Brilliant!!!
Didn’t recognize them wearing different clothes for once - Mr Harrington is a great ambassador for golf and offers some great ideas here ( a little reluctantly) but great ideas
I love how mad he is at the idea of people playing badly 😄 🤣 he's a gem !
I hope he wins the Open!!!
You two commented I would never see you in different outfits - really great content in here thanks for the great video
Thanks for watching!
I am a professional golfer. His best advice was if you are amateur ignore the mainstream golf tips and lessons as they are geared towards the elite. An amateur swing is different. Spot on!
That grip for the driver .. doing it later 💪🏻
padraig is still excited about hitting the ball longer instead of being hesitant stale and short like most players.
great
Great video. Love his tips, keeps it simple. PS, lads, his name is pronounced Pawdrig or Pawrick even though it's spelt Padraig. 😂
70% of the power is in the hands? wow, Ben Hogan and Moe Norman talked about the hands and arms moving as one unit.. I might try to be more handsy in the drive from now on... I hit it 280
I am taking the "swing as hard as possible" drill to the first tee later
Such a great video - I would love a chance of a golfing lesson with the pair of you. 😊 ⛳️
Padraig is daddy.
So good
This is the hilarious side of Paddy we never seen 😅
I'm soon to be 61 years old and I challenge Padraig to a long drive contest (uh-oh, me and my big mouth). I won't ask for a age handicap, I don't need one because I am fit and strong like Andy..
