      Edge is using a different setup for every song. Means a delay tuned exactly for that specific song. There’s a YT, where his tech is telling that.

      Yes! It’s a special delay where it’s just not doing eighth notes so you are hearing the note repeated while you are playing another note, I think it’s something like a dotted eighth note (my music theory is shabby) but it’s basically a delay that fills in the spaces between the notes you are actually playing. Rob does a great tutorial on this exactly how he is doing the delay.

    You're playing the riff with an eighth note delay and your doubling the strokes the delay is supposed to take. That sounds awful. Edge uses a dotted eighth note delay on Bad. Strike one down note, the delay plays back the note alone etc.

  • @casterman2
    @casterman2 2 роки тому

    You get the point across. 13k likes 👍🏻 I think it’s important to note that Unforgettable Fire marked the Edges embrace of a rack rig. Bad was not played through a pedal at all. He was playing in stereo through 2 TC Electronic 2290’s, Eventide harmonizers, and more. So an analog delay will merely get you in the ball park. Digital foot pedal technology has become quite advanced an plug ins on DAWs etc however. Anything from War on back is totally in the wheel house of Memory Man analog delay. He’s not my cup of tea, he did contribute to guitarists moving to stereo rack rigs. Gilmour more so. Bob Bradshaw was the guy everyone sought out. Edge took minimalism a long way.

      @@zachary963 I'm just going to give it to you because I've managed to make it many decades into life without ever having the icky sensation of selecting a song from their catalogue - for reals!!!! They really do make.me feel that ill. 🤮 It can't have been memorable to many others because you're the only one so far, but I'll suspend judgement in the interest of avoiding audi-arrhoea

    Awesome love the added tab. Man killer strat. Your playing is perfect
    You have a great mental clarity. You have a great dedication. You really should write some riffs of your own you have a great knowledge of what works. It's something you have to keep working on all the time it takes the masters years but I have no doubt you can do the same. I love effects based rock like this. I really love Tool and A perfect circles heavy effects ladened metal.

    Appreciate it. I'm not a professional musician by any means but I was experimenting with stuff like that as a teenager. I'm 51 he must be around 60 or so. Good times. I was told more than once that my idea of Mexican, Spanish reggae with some beautiful bass lines and drums was no good. No one would like that. From a musician. My pops. So I gave it up. Before MANA. Those boys really created something beautiful.

    The Edge/ Daniel Lanois / Brian Eno guitar sound set the pace of 80/90's session guitar.

    The Dead Milkmen! One of the BEST bands EVER!!!! I heard them first in 1986 from a friend who made a copy of the Big Lizard in My Backyard album. YAY! Dean's Dream kicks ass.
