Just found your channel and like some of your ideas for organizing of your tools and supplies. I don’t do models, but I remember building models when I was much younger. You dedication and knowledge is admirable. 14:21 I’m 72 and retired five years this past January. I’ve been working with leather for the past eleven years, and see several similarities to your organization, air brushing and procedures. I, like you, have been blessed with a great and wonderful wife of 47 years. I think she is going to keep me😀. Thanks for sharing your hobby and talent.

Thank you very much for your kind words 🙏 and for watching my channel. I truly don't deserve my wife, extremely grateful she has stayed with me for these 12 years. Leather that's amazing. I really like leather, rod iron, and wood. Things of craftsmanship and permanence.

I came upon your channel recently and thought I’d subscribe. I can relate to your excitement about creating these wonderful models. I’m a 70 year old guy who has always been interested in armor (especially WWII German due to the sheer volume of variants). I got back into the hobby a few years prior to retiring from the Army and I have continued to build since. Now that I have settled into retirement I have been fortunate to have a dedicated 14x16 hobby room where I have constructed a 6’ long work electrified work bench, a dedicated spray booth/compressor bench and a 4’ long painting table. I’ve put castors on each to keep it mobile for cleaning purposes. I plan to add some home made display cabinets down the road as well. Anyway, it’s a work in progress that unfortunately has cut into my modeling time. Viewing your videos has given me the notion that I need to shift my focus a bit and get back to building more. All that said, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your ideas with us. Keep the videos coming. I really enjoy them.
    Paul

Paul, thank you so much for your service to our country. My Dad served 22 years and started out a private and retired a Lt. Colonel. I tried to follow his example but MEPS in Fresno said my eye sight was just below their level. Never dreamed I would have such a nice dedicated hobby room. I have a love for it and you can be sure more videos are coming. Thank you very much, Rick.

@@Ricksarmoredmodels8539 I was just telling my wife about you and your site. I very blessed to have such an understanding wife who actually supports my endeavors. I just finished off my basement and she actually supported my plan for a hobby room. I guess its my “man cave” still under construction.
I retired after 37 years in the Army (17 active and 20 reserve) and flew UH-1s for 20 years and was a staff guy for the bulk of the 17. One of my biggest thrills was riding in an Abrahms tank commander’s turret hatch at around 60 mph in the desert of Kuwait! Man, that was a real special experience for me. Then, in the ensuing weeks, seeing what those real heroes did to their T-72 opponents. Incredible!
Btw, I’ve gotten some good ideas from your videos. Keep ‘‘em coming. Thanks.

My wife is very supportive as well, we both got lucky. Very jealous you got to ride in the turret of an Abrams tank, nice.

My dad flew huey's in Vietnam, 2 tours. It was the First Calvary 226 or 229th battalion that he commanded. He's in a book about his battalion written by Robert Mason called Chicken hawk. His name in the book is Major Williams.

The VMS varnish is nice stuff. It takes courage the first few times to spray it on that thickly. But it is the right way to use it. I'm at high altitude with very low humidity. So the airbrush tip clogs easily and quickly. Vallejo flow enhancer seems to help. I use it at one part enhancer to two parts matt varnish. Thanks for the video.

Absolutely, I'm glad you liked it. VMS really helps with decal adhesion as well.

Hello…great videos . Would you do a video regarding your approach to the eternal problem of display and space ? I would love to do a few 1/32 aircraft but once done , where to display ? as really, you need a good sized dedicated spare room …some hope !
These type of videos are excellent for gleaning odd tips and procedures.

I'm glad you liked the video. Yes, I'll do a video on displaying the models with the space available . Traditional hobby shops always would hang them from the ceiling, I assume with fishing line. Great respect for aircraft modelers, I don't think I could paint the canopies with precision. Be looking for the video soon, Rick.

@@Ricksarmoredmodels8539 thanks Rick …look forwards to seeing a video on this subject.
Actually I’m not an aircraft modeller , I’m figures, then AFV and after seeing some 1/32 aircraft diorama, I really fancy attempting one or two. I’ll keep a look out for your stuff .

Great channel, like your wall shelves, can you please share where you got them because I’m running out of space in my hobby room

I'm glad you like the videos, appreciate it. The smaller shelves are from Hobby Lobby, the big box shelves my father in law built for me.
