"I will try to build those before I die" made my day! Nice examples on how to preserve your tools and accesories. Love it! and will try to implement some of them in my work bench
Glad you enjoyed the video . I hope something I've done makes your hobby more enjoyable.

It was a much better rebirth I thought.
@@Ricksarmoredmodels8539that's a nice tiger tbh and the newer one looks insanely good
@vilmute82 thank you so much, I really appreciate that.
@@Ricksarmoredmodels8539I am waiting for chrismas for a tiger 2 (prototype) like yours

Thanks for the information, Rick 👍 I'll decide metal tracks or not before gluing sprockets. I thought new model would avoid such mistakes, but i'm very happy that Hobby Boss propose 1/48 models 😊 And their catalog is announcing very interesting models (Leopard 2,Merkava, Strv 103...) Again, thanks for sharing
Something I updated on my videos title is because of a comment I got from a fellow member on Facebook. His name is Steve Faxon and we had a great back and forth. His research found ( I couldn't find it) that this was a early panzer IV chassis and had narrower tracks and a narrower drive sprocket. So by his information the kit is correct. I admitted in my video that somebody out might prove me wrong and I don't mind that at all. I'm still putting on the friulmodel tracks for both of my Dicker Max models though. But now I have to check my HobbyBoss Panzer IV F2 to see if it has the same situation. Glad you liked my video, I'm working on the cannon right now .
The name of the modelling group is 1/48 Armor Modelling.
Great tip, ill use it for sure
I'm glad I could help and thank you. RICK
How big is yours? The one I got is only about 4 inches long. Yours looks quite a bit bigger.
4" x 4" x 2 3/4 high for the dispenser. 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 × 2 1/2 high for the plastic mushroom tray.
I will do something similar, thank you.
@Lacunan very cool 😎
Any problems with duct collecting on the sides of the tape?
I put a plastic lid on the top of the holder to prevent just that. Please look at my other short video regarding this. I believe it listed as a dust cover. Thanks for watching.
Would be nice to havevit un 1/16 scale.
Check out my video on Galaxy Models zimmerit set. 0.08 mm is one of the 5 sizes in their sets. I used a conversion chart and if I did it correctly that converts to 1/16 th scale.
Wow, nice!!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 That's going to look great; Suggestion;if you can change out the Jerry cans and .50 cal, with better quality ones.
Thank you very much! I'll give the swap out serios consideration, thanks.
Very good video, like the way you did that, does that brand tool have tool for 1/16 sizetank models?
. 0.80 is the biggest scale in the set and I think possibly what your looking for. Check your conversion charts on Google.
Ok, so if I did that right online 0.80 IS 1/16 scale.
57?... Plenty of time to take care of that stash and then some. I've got another 10 years on you and am looking at my stash with the same thoughts on time constraints. Building for the enjoyment is what also drives me.
@@JohnPetro-ll3gk absolutely, I do my own spin on things and enjoy every project. Thanks for watching.

How good was the barrel
@platypus1287 very good to my liking. I would have preferred a metal muzzle brake but this 3d printed one that came with the barrel, I have no complaints.
That's awesome! Congrats on the find!
Thank you sir! 😊
Looks great🤩🤩
@BS-561 thank you sir!
What brand are the tracks? It was hard to read the box. I love my Tamiya M41 kit. It’s a timeless kit! I recommend the Panzer II G kit with the three soldiers, these two kits are GREAT kits and will always be favorited by myself and others. Good video 👍

Awsome idea!
@@nohiet thank you very much! Rick
I have the 1/35 Trumpeter KV-2 (late production) which was their initial new tool in 2005. In terms of fidelity, fit, detail & sub-type fidelity and accuracy, it compares very favourably with Tamiya's new tool IMO, which is kudos indeed. The Trumpeter kit actually has several features going for it over the Tamiya IMV. 1. The tracks. Trumpeter's comes with BOTH outstanding link and length tracks as well as continuous run of quality similar to those in most Tamiya kits. Unusually Tamiya do only L&L in their kit. 2. The Trumpeter kit turret is slide moulded. 3. Trumpeter's also comes with a tub hull which for assembly, is just superior for fit and ease of assembly. Tamiya, unusually for them, but for whatever reason have gone with a Zvezda hull assembly style approach which I detest. 3. Trumpeter comes with copper wire for tow cables instead of nylon string in the Tamiya kit. Just ugh. Another concession to one of Zvezda's abysmal practices which ruins their otherwise quite good value for money and accurate modern tooling kits. 4. Trumpeter's instructions contain a sprue layout & parts legend plus a glossy colour paint & marking guide with GSI Creos colour callouts. A plus for me. 5. Uncharacteristically for Tamiya's AFAIC see from the instructions, no polycaps other than for the drive sprocket? Trumpeters has extensive drive wheel polycaps which are well implemented. 6. Positively for Tamiya, it comes with two figurines. One of the things I love about Tamiya kits. That has to be taken into account when it comes to the price. Trumpeter is vehicle only. 7. Which brings us to... price. Trumpeter wins hands down... in my country. The Tamiya kit here is close enough to twice the price of Trumpeters. 9. The plastic itself. Trumpeter? Superb quality moulded in medium grey, very pleasant to work with. Tamiya's? Dark green...can't comment on quality as I haven't handled the kit. These old eyes would rather work in grey. 10. Decals. Two versions in each, with an edge to the Trumpeter slogan and Soviet insignia for appeal. 11. Both have multi part barrels which kinda' surprised me for Tamiya given their KV-2 tooling stems from as recently as 2021. It rather surprised me with trumpeters too as their KV-1 from the same new tooling year has one of the best slide once piece moulded barrels in a kit I've ever seen. F-34 ZiS- 5 L/42.5 so good I used it in preference to the RB metal barrel I'd bought concurrent with the purchase of the kit. As for the kit KV-2 barrels, nothing between them here really. I bought an RB metal barrel for my KV-2, the only aftermarket part I purchased. I love Tamiya kits, but Trumpeter's KV-2 (& KV-1) series get the two thumbs up from me. They definitely give Tamiya's KV kits a run for their money. Both manufacturer's current tooling 1/35 KVs build into nice models any modeller would be happy with.
Thank you for taking the time to write me and to provide so much appreciated detail. I'm going to look up the Trumpeter kit tonight and I might just pull the trigger despite all the potential projects i have going. It will be my first Trumpeter kit so maybe that's good motivation. The fact that they don't provide figures is a plus for me. I'll let you know if I make the purchase and my thoughts when it comes in the mail. Thank you for watching my video and I hope to hear from you again. Regards, Rick
@@Ricksarmoredmodels8539 I'm pleased it was of use to you. Trumpeter's packaging is rather dull when compared with Tamiya glam, but to sum up my initial impression when I opened the box and examined the contents, I was blown away. I have a lot of Dragon, considerable Tamiya and Zvezda in armour as well as a couple of the Academy Hetzers. My experience of Trumpeter's KV2 & KV-1 is that there armour kits are right up there with current Tamiya. Reminds me of Hasegawa & Trumpeter's sibling Hobby Boss brand in aircraft kits.
I only have two Trumpeter kits both in 1/35. Their KV-1 & KV-2. My personal experience with those. Outstanding. Even today, IMEO those particular kits are superior to the more recently tooled (2021/22) Tamiya kit equivalents despite almost 20 years having elapsed since they released (2005). I have a few 1/48 aircraft kits from Trumpeter's sibling company HobbyBoss too. They too excellent quality kits, almost on a par with Tamiya but outstanding value for money. e.g. their 1/48 Me-262 variants.
Thanks for this unboxing, Rick ! We still have to wait to buy it in Europe. It's good to see new models in this scale. It seems that Hobby Boss better engineered this Dicker Max, than the Panther (which was good but not at Tamiya or Ustar level). As with the panther, it seems that we have to glue all wheels, even sprockets. Could you confirm that ? Alignment with tracks will be a little more difficult (or we'll have to use friul tracks) I hope you'll do a small video about building this model. Your videos are inspiring, i did the same camouflage as you did on the Jagdtiger🙂
I agree that the hobby boss Panther was lacking do I didn't pull the trigger on that one. The Dicker Max was a pleasant surprise and yes the details on the kit are VERY good. At your request I will do a build video on it in the future. Thank you for the kind words, it makes me want to make more videos. All the best, Rick .
Yes confirmed you have to glue them for sure. Although I never glue the drive or idler sprockets just so l can install the friulmodel tracks easier.
@@Ricksarmoredmodels8539 Thank you, Rick 👍 I also bookmarked your videos about 1/48 zimmerit when i'll try (Ustar King Tiger Zimmerit isn't very good)
@donatiencarloz3195 I hope the videos are useful to you. A word of warning, once you get the results you want you'll want to zimmerit everything, lol 😆
One of your pictures in your introduction is a Sturer Emil and not a Dicker Max
Ok, thank you for that. I'll do better research on my next video.
Hobbyboss also has a panzer iv f2 and panther a
I have the Panzer IV f2 and on ebay a company finally came out with a metal barrel option . I'm told the Panther's hull machine gun hatch is molded closed otherwise I would have bought it.
Thank you very much for watching my video,Rick.
Wow! Nice kit. 1/48th scale has certainly come a long way! Ive built a couple of Hobby Boss's Sherman kits and the detail was very good. The details of that Dicker Max kit are very, very nice and should make for a detailed build right out of the box! Hopefully, you have no fit issues or problems. I sure wish there were more after market options for 1/48th scale! The 1/48th Friulmodel tracks are definitely a treasure as well, because they can be hard to find.😁Cheers!
Yeah, I've been waiting since May for this kit to come out, and it was worth the wait. Thank you very much for watching.
Nice set-up. Got ya subbed.

Looks like a panther
@jasongibson8114 it does, Hungarian tank crews and I assume tank designers and engineers, trained in Germany and liked the Panther tank a lot.
Very interesting, I love Budapest 💘❤!!
@jasongibson8114 I hope I can go there someday. The people of Hungary have great pride and love of God and country ❤️ 🙏.
What kind of hobbyist would make 5 vehicles of the same type? I mean hobbyist, not a professional. I thought this video will compare the two brands. Waste of time.
There are different variants,Tiger II initial production, Tiger II Main production. T34/76, T34/ 85, and so on. As cutting as your remarks are, your comments are useful. Thanks for taking the time. ✝️
Szia Rick! Ahogy én tudom a magyar tankokat nem vonták be zimmerittel.A járműveket 1944-től egységesen sötétzöld színre festették.A színük Humbrol 114 Russian tank green volt. Most melyik szín felel meg ennek azt nem tudom. A fehér kereszteket gyakorta a fronton átfestették szürkével vagy a jármű alapszínével.
You're absolutely right. The Hungarian tanks did not have zimmerit. The 44 m TAS design I think, took some tips from the German Panther tank after Hungarian tank crews trained in Germany. The 44 m TAS never made it to the battlefield so this is a total what if on my part that their German allies would have shared their zimmerit recipe with their ally had the 44m tas made it it to mass production. Just having some fun 😁
Great video and tank build.
@davepriddy9263 thank you very much, I really appreciate that.

Sorry to be the stickler, but this turret is not a Porsche turret. This turret is an “early production turret” actually designed by Krupp (not Porsche) and was planned to be used with Porches proposed hull design that were never produced as the Henschel hull design was chosen. These turrets were never made my Porsche but were instead made by Krupp. The “P” actually stands for “Production” as this was the first turret design for the two competing hulls (Porsche vs Henshel) until Henschel later made their improved version (which is what we see on almost all King Tigers). I usually just call the two either the Production Turret, or the Henschel Turret. Sorry to be the nerd here about this 🤓 Cheers!
Don't be sorry at all, you're completely right. Most people and model kit producers label it Porshe turret. If I label the video production turret it won't get as many views. So for me it's just a business decision ( such as it is) . I hope you liked the video and thank you for taking the time to comment. Rick
@@Ricksarmoredmodels8539 I totally agree! Cheers!
