    lol!!!! I am a nurse and have washed 1000’s of balls and have shaved groins for a variety of procedures. It’s not nearly as awkward for us. In fact I don’t give any thought to it at all. We might remember you on a follow up procedure but not because we remember your junk. It’s your face and conversation that we remember and in most cases we don’t remember you at all. We see hundreds of patients every week. Your parts are the furthest thing from my mind. My focus is on infection prevention, teaching, ensuring your pain is well managed and that you have a positive experience and an optimal recovery. I’m sorry it’s awkward for you but try to think of it from our perspective. Your health is all that matters to us.

    I hear people say "live intentionally," but I never understood what they meant exactly. Your example of the UA-cam algorithm really puts that into perspective and actually shows a way to "live intentionally," instead of just saying it. Keep up the good work guys.

    Thank you for discussing such an important topic. I have two teenage boys. Last year, two kids in their High School committed suicide. It rocked the community. I didn't know the families but as a parent, you have to feel devastated for them. Thank you for having the courage to talk about issues like this.

    Mental health has been a big struggle since I was a teen. A year and a half ago I received new information about my mental health and have been struggling to balance it with my diet and exercise ever since. Yall have helped me start to regain conscious awareness of the relationships between those three things though. Thank you!!🎉❤

    Thank you for the open dialogue about Adam's experience with fat loss drugs. It's important for folks to know what might happen to their energy, ability to train, and relationship with food. This really illustrates how "losing weight" and "losing fat" can be very different, and have significantly long term health impacts and outcomes.

    As someone who has struggled with an eating disorder for most of her adult life and suffered from depression a couple of years ago, I really appreciate that we, as fitness professionals, have more conversations like this one. We tend to focus a lot on our physical health, but without inner peace, self awareness and the capacity to, like Sal says, change our "algorithm", our bodies will simply not respond to all the input we are giving it by properly training it and nourishing it. Thank you guys! Cheers to living with purpose... Cheers to living intentionally!

    During covid i took up Gardening (specifically growing vegetables) and that helped me reduce social media intake, get a bit more outdoor activity and it produces good organic and super tasty food (it also kind of encourages me to eat more from whole foods - once i grow it i fell like i need to figure out a way for the family to eat it all). You have to focus on real life stuff for sure.

    I'm in my early thirties and I've been consciously working on my mental health since I was a teenager. I grew up in a time where the shift seems to have been accelerating further towards the chaos we have today in our living environments and it's nice to know that after all these years I can get better and better with improving things because I've had the diligence over the years to figure out how. You really do want to clear up your environment

      Mid forties, and I wish I had been more consistent working out in my 20s. Spent most of it working (my job was highly active and basically a workout), acquiring skills, and partying. In my 30s is when I got consistent working out, and riding bikes, and had a family.

    • @drip369
      @drip369 Місяць тому

      @@2ndstreetmarvel I can understand that from the awareness and mind muscle connection aspect, as well as skills acquisition, you still were active and I'm not sure how long you've been eating the way you do but you are still laps ahead of people in your age group. What is really sad is I'm laps ahead of men in my age group that do not wake up pitching a tent, which is sad for them but healthy for me. The important thing is you are actively pursuing a better feeling of overall well-being and you still have time to get yourself in a capable and resilient state so that you have a better chance of living longer for your family. I'm not sure where you are on your journey but I would suggest any skills work that you want to learn do with light weights and do more often than the heavy stuff, but do your heavy stuff in waves because our strength and metabolism is built in the recovery process from the gym. I certainly couldn't go all the way with you on a bicycle yet I am confident that you will get to that state of overall well-being

    So much I want to comment on! 😅 This was a great episode.
    I just attended a seminar on the glp1 drugs and there are people that are hyper responders. Maybe that’s what’s happening to Adam. There are some people that don’t respond at all to glp1. Just interesting. The expert giving the seminar stated that patients are going to coaches now because they have lost so much muscle mass and need help correcting body composition. A reminder to all, the drug was made to help diabetic people control their appetite and lose weight, but no promise that their body will look good.

    I mentioned this previously, after listening to the peptide conversation, a byproduct of taking these weight loss peptides s is a thickening of the lining of the bowel. This leads to being sick after eating high fat foods, rich foods, high fiber so even eating healthy you feel like crap. Your body loses its ability to absorb even healthy food. I would love to hear more about those side effects and the studies.

    Homelessness in Cali is the highest but you have to understand how many people CHOOSE to live that way specifically in Cali because it’s generally warm enough to not need shelter. Venice Beach is full of people who choose to live on the beach. Some are homeless by choice as a way of living off the grid n avoiding paying taxes. I know if I ever fell on hard times I would choose Cali or maybe Florida n just be a beach bum lol

    Does the GLP1 possibly make you lose desire to exercise? I’m thinking, desire, whether to eat or exercise or gamble or drug use, etc….even though not to the level of “addict”, does it suppress all this? Makes me concerned to lose desire for anything. A society more unhappy than what we have now is scary.
