I am a big fan of Dr. John Delony! He always stays calm, he gives fantastic advice, and he is very consistent on what he talks about. The way he breaks down problems in to ways anyone can understand is a testimony to his education and experience. It was a pleasure to meet him after doing our debt free scream. Mind pump, thank you for all of your valuable content that you put out, I have learned SO much! Thanks for having this guy on!

    Man!! What great content!
My wife and I have been married for 28 years this month.❤ And much of what John is saying we learned the hard way or from other couples or read about it.
There is so many thoughts I would like to share but one of the most important I agree with is not giving kids a smart device until they are at least 16 and maybe longer.
Our oldest is 21. When he was in junior high he said his teacher do an experiment for statistics.
He asked who had smart phones and who had flip phones and who had no phone. Our son told us only one kids raised their hand for no phone…and it was our son. He thought he should have one also. We laughed and said he could ask any one of his friends to borrow theirs if you had to call us.😂
Thank you guys for making this episode and all the rest. It is life changing!

My income is probably 2x my husband’s, but he serves our country. I wish I could do all the kids field trips and bake sales, but this is where I’m needed. It’s challenging. Sometimes he has to be gone, sometimes it’s scary, we argue, we disagree on things with the kids, all the things. After arguments, repairs can be simple. A joke, a rub on the shoulder, something small that says “we’re okay, we’re a team”. It’s the little things. Living in bitterness isn’t living. Love each other.
Much love to the MP guys for having Dr. John. He’s incredible.

i'm a day late to post this but i think people get into the same issue with marriage as they do with sex - just like porn can give you a distorted idea of sex, "romantic" or just whatever passes for "normal" representations of marriage in movies and songs in popular culture gives you a total distorted vision of how a functional and happy marriage works. Been married over 20 years and so many people ask me how it works for us .... and it's WORK, you have to work at it consistently. like how do you work out? you work at it consistently w/ intention. you don't just work super hard and then stop, you go in with a plan, you adjust, you stick with it, you move past injuries and get back to it etc. it's a muscle like anything else.

I think we a quickly coming to a place where the average person is realizing that religion got it right thousands of years ago. I see two outcomes in the near future, 1 is we let the nihilist, woke, feminist, atheistic ideals that are being shoved upon us take hold or 2, the atheist and agnostics among us realize that the judeo christian ethic is superior to the one that has been invented in the colleges over the last hundred or so years and we learn to live in a place where you don't have to be a Christian to understand the value of living a Christian lifestyle. I came to this conclusion over a decade ago, after I left my church and went down the road of chasing worldly pleasures. I became in my late thirties, alone, unhappy and unfulfilled. Now I still don't consider myself religious but I tell people that I am reluctantly agnostic now. I also tell people that you don't need to believe in Jesus but I believe you will be happier longer if you live a Christian style life.

Delony is great. Theres a "physician heal thyself" element, because his relationship with his wife seems pretty rocky. Just watch the "interview" he did with her. Ramsey solutions blocked the comments because they were all, "blink twice if you need help, john".

The thing that bugs me most about divorce is when one spouse acts like they are 100 percent innocent and the other person is the reason the marriage fell apart. I have 2 sisters with 3 divorces between them, and they both act like they are completely blameless. I'm sorry but no, if it takes 2 people to make a marriage work well, then it takes 2 people to not make it work well. No one is completely blameless in a divorce.
