Just saw the Basie band in Minneapolis. I don't know much about trumpets but I knew that one was special. Looked verrrry different than others I'd seen. Asked the guy next to me; he knew. What a coincidence I could watch this!

Monette trumpets are the best in the world, in my opinion. I love my MC-61! I hope one day to have them build a Bb for me!

There are cheap, and very cheap trumpets and very very expensive trumpets, but the sound, the tone is mainly based on the trumpeter.
Its the player, not the trumpet. Its the same for the flute.
A great solist sounds great on a cheap instrument and a a bad player sounds bad on each intrument.
