- Here's the beginning of the 2nd ITG Jam Session for 2019, in which trumpeter Scotty Barnhart talks about his new book on the history of Jazz Trumpet, and introduces a fine Jazz player from Japan, Terumasa Hino, after which Ingrid Jensen enters Stage Left and kicks the session into high gear with an outstanding solo. Features the ITG rhythm section of Zach Bartholomew on Piano, Chuck Bergeron on Bass, and John Yarling on Drums.

Her entrance was like something in the Movies, and she played Amazingly well! :-)
Ingrid (in my opinion) is the greatest trumpet player out there right now! Also super nice and humble, she’s literally one of the best human beings lol

I got to take a master class with him a few years ago. Scotty has several books out analyzing the style of jazz trumpet players. He also leads the Count Basie Orchestra.

Great, great playing by all, but why have I only just today discovered Ingrid Jenson? She is astonishing.
Btw, I'm a sax player and again, today, I just discovered Melissa Aldana. All-in-all, a very good day.
Ingrid's sister Chrstine is a phenomenal sax player and composer.
Hope your journey of searching new and upcoming musicians are going well! If you like Ingrid and Christine’s playing I recommend Marianne Trudel (pianist ho works with Ingrid often) and the new band “Artemis” led by Renee Rosnes! Ingrid is my fav trumpeter so hope these bands help hehe
