Me and my brother met Dick in the Martin museum in may 2016. When asking us we told him we were from Sweden.
He was very friendly and showed us around. He talked about some of the guitars and also let us feel the sound of two tremendous guitars there...
It is always great to see Dick on a video. Got to meet him at Martin a few times. What a wonderful company Martin is. They make everyone who comes through the doors feel like they are the most important person in the world ! Well, they did before all this crap started !
Those are some gorgeous martins. At first I thought the serial number 1 million guitar was too gaudy but when I stopped to think that they have 1 million serialized martins (and this doesn't count all the martins made before they started this practice) I think the appointments are fitting. We're talking about a company that's been in business for almost 200 years! To think that they're still going strong is a testament to the value of good craftsmanship and business savvy.
Great video, thanks! Very informative.
wow, beautiful. His final considerations were very well made. :)
Great piece
Hard to believe Dick Boak is retiring soon. Will be missed.
So much Heritage in the World of Martin guitars! I'm on my second one, and I'm a member of " That Family "...🎩🇺🇸🎩🇺🇸🎩

04:29... What a beautiful speech.
How come you don't play the old ones a little more? Are they going to break?
Very nice, informative video. I'm not clear where the museum is, would live to see it. Thanks for sharing.
I met my true love, and it was made by Martin, La La L a La!
Re: Clapton Japanese friend's memorial guitar. They don't look like rosettes to me. More like a four petal dogwood blossom.
Really wish you had played the oldest one.

I wonder which model was the guitar the idiots Tarantino and Kurt Russell destroyed in "Hateful Eight"?
Hopefully a chinese knockoff.
Wow, I mean, just wow. There must be as much m.o.p. in that 1,000,000th guitar as there is wood! Well nearly anyway.
I once heard that the reason an acoustic takes a few years to start sounding it's best is 'cause it takes it that long to realise it's not a tree anymore....
Actually there were 15 OM-45 Deluxes made in 1930, not 11.
If you wud be a tree you will never like to be cut down. Sooooooooou! Stop!
By the way there alot of fine guitars at better prices that are not Martin. Just Sayin.
Ok
True, but Martin is Martin. You do buy something special when buying a CFM.
@@0Imtheslime0 agree. I have 2 Martins.
