If you allow me, don't forget some little "ladder" for the insects to be able to escape drowning if they fall into the water or don't know how to go out.
Good advice. I'm wondering if those pebbles don't hurt the birds' feet.
@@ren7ee The way birds grab things, it's probably good not to use too sharp an angle peble (like a blade). Otherwise they will choose the smoothest shape, like a cyinder (or a branch) which they can seize firmly.
@@ren7ee They actually use the big smooth rock to perch on. The little ones are mostly for aesthetics.
I use rocks in mine, so anything small can get out
I’ve got two ground level bird baths, which are two different sizes. My bathing visitors are Blackbirds, Starlings, Sparrows, Magpies and Wood Pigeons. But many others drink from them. Because they are on the ground, the hedgehog visitors also have access to water.
Love this idea. I truly love your accent also. ❤
I will try it one day.
Did you try it?
@@atulkumar-pk8dk not yet. Where I live is a bit townish and little bird population. I plan it for my home outside the city.
@@BlessedUA-camr best of luck and I hope you succeed in your adventures 🙏🏼
I used a plant terracotta color water drainer to feed the birds it was just a dish, which they loved... now I bought a brand new bright blue bird bath from the hardware store and they won't bathe in it? do I need to place a rock in the center of it will they come and bathe
a rock might help as it breaks the surface which creates tiny waves which makes it easier for birds to notice the water
@@Laura-ow2xx Thank u
The rocks are for the birds to determine a safe depth to bathe.
It may be too deep. Fill it to a max of 1.5 inches and see what happens.
I put one flat rock in my bird bath as it’s a little deep. Cleaning the birdbath with all those rocks in it would be a nightmare. My one rock got slimy after just a day or two and I put in fresh water every day.
Notice how they dont show an outcome? Its a completely different bird bath at the end...
I cant do this one, I have 2 outside cats
