Great review brother, thanks!. I heard you can swap the caliber but didn't know you could change from full to compact. I also "heard" if you buy a P320 in .357 you only need to change the barrel to make it a .40, but need slide & barrel to change to a 9mm. Would be nice if SIG's P320 page had any of this info,they dont even say its available in anything but a 9mm, guess they don't want to sell guns. I'm leaving the "Peoples Republic of California" in a month so I'll get my Constitutional rights back and can buy a real firearm vs crack-a-fornia toys here they call pistols. Wrote SIG and asked them where the info on this is, hope they answer, otherwise I got my eye on Glocks and Beretta's. Great stuff, thank you.

Yes, you can go from .357 SIG to .40 by just changing the barrel. I tested an old P226 in .40 and put a 9mm Barrel and recoil spring on it and it worked. Now, I have never tested a P320 with the same setup, I should!! Ya, I agree, their site should have MUCH more info on it!!
Bought mine in 9mm and got the 357 kit and a 40 barrel. Makes a good SHTF kit.

@@mrrj44 The first place I would look is at the SigTalk forum. I sold my P365 SAS conversion Kit there!!
I purchased the Sig P320 M18 and it will be the only Sig product I will be purchasing simply because the way the company engineered the P320. In order for it to shoot 40 s&w it requires not just a barrel and mag swap but also the slide, which costs $500 for a kit. My S&W M&P 9 only required a barrel swap costing $90 and a magazine costing $30. The gun ran flawlessly in either calibers as well. Sig could have easily made their huge chunky slide to take either barrels but the way Sig products are outrageously priced I'm willing to bet they did that intentionally. Instead of spending $500 on a rip-off kit that just comes with 1 magazine, a slide, a barrel, and a recoil spring, I'm going to spend my money on a complete pistol from a different manufacturer that comes with a complete gun and multiple magazines. I really wanted to like Sig but now I totally understand the Sig hate.
You know you can buy COMPLETE P320 .40 Pistols from Police Dept for $250??

Those are VERY easy and cheap to find!! There are tons of P320 Police Trade In in .40 and some companies broke them apart and sold the uppers, FCU, Frames and Magazines separately. You just have to look and search, you will find them!! I helped a friend sell a BRAND NEW .40 upper a couple of years ago for under $300. You can probably find a Police Trade for even lower. Don't give up easily, you will find one!!

I have the M18. It is already in the compact config, so would I need the entire kit (i.e. grip module) or would I just need the barrel and slide? The only thing I wanna do is convert it to .40.
You can buy the combo of the upper, mag and grip module or you can buy the grip Module and mag!! As for Grip modules, look at the Wilson Combat grip modules, I have a video coming on them!!

Hello, thank you for the educational video. I want to ask, (bcuz I don't see it in description), Did you convert a 9mm full to a 10mm compact, or 9mm comp? I am looking to view that video, although I imagine all these conversions are the same.
In this Video I converted a Full Size 9mm P320 to a Compact Size 9mm P320. It was quite simple as you can see.
FYI, there is no compatibility in Frame and uppers between 9mm/40 to 10mm/.45, the 10mm/45 frames are larger. I honestly DO NOT know about the FCU though.

@@MusicMinisterJP7 First, 10mm, even though it is a .40, is a much larger and more powerful cartridge than a .40 S&W. The .40 was derived from the 10mm, to be more manageable than the 10mm of Law enforcement.
Yes, there is a P320 X-Ten, that is a 10mm pistol and is NOT interchangeable with the 9mm Frame. You can only change 9mm to .40.
Nowadays, there's tons of .40 P320's out there being offered in the Used Market as Police Trade In, they are selling for a very low price.

Please go to the SIG website. The information you can get there is MUCH better than anything I can give you, it's up to date. This video is very old.
Question... I just did the trigger upgrade and also purchased the RX exchange kit. I put the trigger housing into the new lower, but the slide kept getting hung up. I compared my old upper to the new upper and noticed the guide rod was a little different. The newer one had 2 flat surfaces on the end of the rod and the older one was a complete circle. Once I switched them out, I was able to install the new upper. Is this common?
Honestly, this is the first time I've heard of that, this one you see here has the two flats on the side, but... I saw one that the Guide Rod stuck out just a bit.
At 1:57 he said voluntary upgrade... what does he mean by that?
Back two years go SIG had a Voluntary Upgrade, there was a case that if the P320 was dropped at a certain angle, the Pistol would discharge. IF you have one of those pistols, you should send it in!! But these are pistols made before August 2017!!
Anyone else would say RECALL or "Gun may fire without pulling trigger", it's legal-ize language for you best fix our screw up or die, but at least SIG did it.

I've heard that you can't x change the 45. Is that true?
The .45 is a larger frame.

I know that the .40 S&W P226 Slide works great with the 9mm barrel, I have done it and it works, I just don't know with the P320, but I can ask!!

With the price and scarcity of ammo right now, think very carefully about using a kit that requires different ammo from what you already have.
I never said that this kit needs any special ammo!! The fact that I will use it for certain purposes like EDC doesn't mean that it ONLY takes Hollow Point Ammo, but that I would mostly use Hollow Point Ammo. This thing, like any other SIG Pistol shoots ANY kind of ammo you put into it!! I have yet to find any ammo it doesn't take.
Now if only these conversions were easier to find.
A Glock in .40 is easier to convert I’ve realized
They have them all the time at the SIG website or the SIG Pro Shop, that's how I got mine, from the Pro Shop, they're only one phone call away.
