This makes me happy to see a father so dedicated. I loved my father and we would go on hunting trips all of the time. But in 1987 when I was 8, he was killed in a train wreck when the train he worked on wrecked into an oil tanker, blowing it up and killing my dad. I inherited half of his guns and my brother got the other half. My uncle and my brother and I always get tears in our eyes when we go on hunting trips up in the mountains, knowing we have someone missing from the group. Love you dad
Dang much respect to your family and you
sorry about ur papi know that he watches over you when hunting. I'm an alaskan and never new this story the mountains up here look 1 way through a scope but its a different beast when u climb
Oh, Colby.
What a tragedy to lose your father.
It sounds like the two of you have a special bond.
Memories are a wonderful way to think of the fun the two of you have.
I'm sure he's hunting right along with you.
Sorry and I mean it hope you feel better
@Mason Mobley I can't even imagine what that pain feels like...knock on wood.
I don’t know if people somehow missed the part of the video where the narrator explains Alaska’s laws regarding game animals, but as someone who lives here, trust me, there are very serious laws when it comes to wasting meat. These men didn’t go out to “trophy hunt” and no one “deserves” this 😔
Trophy hunt is disgusting. I wish the worst and the same fate to those anti-life monsters.
I do respect the ones who hunt for food.
@@Seroxm13 I think it’s karmic for them to fall from tree stands for hunters.
yes and i believe in instant karma. poor animals being killed to for the fun of it makes me so damn mad. i feel like a monster saying this but yes he deserved what happened to him. just like the animal went down he went too, sorry GOD.
At 3:48 it says they “spot sheep BUT NOT THE TROPHY THEY ARE lOOKING FOR” so how did they not go hunting for trophies
Even if they trophy hunted, people don't deserve to die as a result. Humans have more value than mere animals
I'm 57, there's no way I could have just laid down beside my son. I'd have been on that trail as soon as I realized he wasn't conscious. It worked out for this guy, but I'd have been way too stressed out. I wouldn't have been able to lay down.
Wow, I wish me and my dad where this close. If more dads was like this one we wouldn't have so many worthless thug's on our streets.
They don't have dads. Single moms.
My dad is not close to me or any of our siblings and non of us is a thug. People just choose to be criminals. It's a choice
You can tell that his dad is very calm in high pressure situations he talks about the story so methodically.
Lived in Alaska many years and saw lots of events similar to this….glad to see a positive outcome this time, they aren’t often happy outcomes…
But it's beautiful?
SO glad this had a happy ending. Way to go, Collins family!
Real stories are awesome and cinematography top notch.
Hes reposting these from tv you can google the series an its tv so he reposts these but its pretty nice to see this from yt
@@blappeck124 they own the show
I don´t like people hunting, but he was very lucky
Its always a gamble when you're coming down a cliff..the sad part is neither the father or son took cognisance of how serious it would be to climb those steep cliffs.. Anyways his father was very experienced in this situation and didn't loose his cool ..he saved his son's life..his son had a serious tbi injury..had moments to live..
Animals have feelings
susan nordstrom probably vegan 😑
Technically, so do plants. So.. I guess we’ll live on water and dirt.
Susan every one has feelings
@@shellibrinker7722 but some don't have feelings for other living things
True but not true
I don't agree to kill animals
As a hunter myself.God was with you Jake.🎉
I remember getting a shock as kid, on trees etc realising some kids do not do this climbing thing well at all, for one reason or another. Here it was risky before he ever started climbing if you ask me, not enough precautions.
Great he can lead a normal life again though!!
Exactly and not worth risking your life

Wrangell St Elias park is amazing. I’ve been there twice. The great thing about it is how desolate it is. It’s kind of the forgotten national park of Alaska. The mountains dwarf the Colorado Rockies. And yes, I understand Colorado has more 14,000 foot mountains, but those mountains start at a 5,000-7,000 foot base, so they are only 7,000-9,000 feet tall. In the Wrangell mountains, they start at a 2,000 foot base or so and rise to 12,000-16,000 feet. Or, 10,000-14,000 feet tall.
The drive there is breathtaking. You can see the mountains 40+ miles out. The hikes are great. Only thing is the last time we went we had our 2 1/2 year old daughter with us and had to play it safe because of bears and whatnot. It was pretty much just get out and look, but still totally worth it!
$200 for an emergency locator beacon best peace of mind you can have out there
Hallelujah, what a miracle, thanks be to God.
God bless you Jake,good ending.
Poor sheep
I love these videos, but the prologue is pretty much a spoiler that shows us the intense parts. I've decided to start these at a couple minutes in to avoid ruining the video for me.
learn about the amazing abilities of these animals and how they survive instead of killing them😢😢😢?
I bet when he went back his dad was like your not climbing back up there
Love and grettings from Denmark. Take care to Your both.
Love and prayers from Pakistan God bless you
EPIRBS were not around when we hunted in Wilderness Areas in the late 70's so we carried Mountain Radios. No excuse being in remote areas like that without EPIBS or Radios. Just not fair on those who risk their lives to go help you.
What an awesome family
In my city..we have a tradition that like in this story...it was good that he went back to the place where he fell..so his soul goes back inside him.For my tradition..we call back the soul...like for ecample we just cal his name and we say come back to his body...and a prayer to the unseen people around.Because in my tradition we believed that all the dead people's spirit is just around...
OMG he went down with the sheep! 😳😱 ( glad he survived and I hope they got their sheep)
Sorry but people who go into animal's home territory with the intention of killing them deserve to pay the price.
Fatherly love
No pity for him he didn't mind the sheep falling No time for people who kill for their own sport
Exactly. It's callous and no way to justify it.
Killing beautiful animals FOR PLEASURE to me is a sociopathic disorder
Amazing story
Hindsight is always 20/20.
This is why you should carry a satelite phone on wilderness hikes or hunts
8:35 "His 53 year old legs" .... narrator WTF😂
I mean he ain’t wrong 😂💀
Poor goat who had to die completely unnecessarily.
im pretty early, + awesome stories!
That's what you get. Leave the animals alone
respect nature and it lifes an lives itself
That was greatest thing ever

For all of you that think you're virtuous & hunters are evil, are perfectly fine with buying a fast food burger or buy meat from the grocery store made from animals kept in horrible conditions from birth till death. You do this daily without one ounce of regret.
Nope.
Exactly! I’m from Southern USA where people hunt for food and they use all the meat they can. I’m so sick and tired of seeing these comments “That’s what you get” “Karma” like thats someone child!!
nah. i’m vegan
@@BIANCA_YAOWA have you ever seen what happens to a field when you plow it with modern machines? Birds come from everywhere to eat all the animals chopped up living amongst the crops... rabbits, mice, squirrels ect, if you think animals with a face were not harmed to grow your food you would be wrong!
your life is your fault. better than eating the actual animal ;-)
Best
The silence of sheeps
Did you really think he meant sheeps? Lol over your head
How quickly things can spiral out of control.
Wow
So you put yourself and your son in a bad situation? But somehow you are a hero to rescue your son from the bad situation you put him in? There is a lesson here.
I am delighted it worked out for these two guys but, even if you do eat it, I am vehemently against shooting a completely helpless animal with a rifle that has telescopic sights. This animal had no chance and ended up rotting at the bottom of some hill. It's mate is now all on it's own. Imagine this happening to you!
There’s no way I could’ve stayed there all night. If he died havin the thought if you went to find help you may have saved his life.
No, if you left him in that state alone in the cold night he would have died… so you would have your son alone in the wild to die alone… he used his own body heat to save him and covered him up to stop things eating him alive. He did the right thing by staying with him till morning
He is a very lucky
Enjoying the wilderness and nature is a perfect hobby, but not killing innocent animals!
It's for the food and there's plenty more around
Completely agree with you
He was kind of excited
Sorry but people who go into animal's home territory with the intention of killing them deserve to pay the price.
I hunt and fish so this is cool and my hunting bud is my dad
Great example of an instant karmic payback for hunting animals. Sick of the entitlement of people, and somehow justifying this behavior. Trophy hunters are the worst kind, but any hunting is inhumane.
Born with a seizure disorder. I've only had Petite Mal my whole life until last year. Still unknown why, I had my first Grand Mal (convulsions and unconscious) at work Woke up in the ICU a day later.
Wow, severe head trauma!
So early
Stop kill a beautiful animals
they need to put episodes of the curse of oak island
That would be good to see and scary to see
Ooh. Very sorry Colin, get you from Tanzania 🇹🇿
Do you know tha way
@@esamgelting not really.
Ugh! This comment section makes me want to puke! This young man did not deserve this. There are more hunters who hunt for food not for trophy or fun. If they were hunting for trophy they would of hunted something bigger and riskier! At least when the world goes to hell, which it slowly is. Hunters will know how to survive and live off the land. 🤷♀️
Go Jake!! God Bless.
now he feels what the kill feel
EXACTLY.
Nahh the kill feels worse haha i put a 12 gauge to ones head and blew ir clean off
They're hunting to eat, which is way more humane than food from the grocery store.
People please. Please. Carry your cell phone in your pocket at all times. It's called MOBILE for a reason! Not just talking this story but every story it's the same thing.."they left the cell phone in the truck or at home'. You ain't proving anything by leaving your phone. Just shut it off if you want to be left alone but leave it in your pocket ffs.
You forgetting the part where they couldn't get service so it wouldn't have mattered? A lot of these take place in remote areas where they aren't gonna have cell service so they don't take it. It don't make sense to bring it to a place where you can't use it. People just need to have a better respect and understanding of the area they are in and bring proper safety and survival equipment. A phone is useless if you don't have signal
@@aribenoit9879 yeah but not always is there no service. And you could at least play candy crush. 😆

but the question is, did they get the sheep back
They probably got fined for not taking the sheep, you can only kill them if you’re going to eat them
Karma returned from the sheep ! :) Well done, innocent beautifull animal !
Really? If you have ever eaten a hamburger, karma would be for you to be trampled by a cow.
Store bought meat is dead animal to idiots
Such a difference though as a Mom would never let her son attempt that climb
Did he find his gun? I guess everybody's looking now
