  • Easy vanilla oat milk creamer is what I will be sharing with you today. This vanilla oat milk recipe is so easy, oil free and WFPB. Only 3 ingredients! Here is what you will need to make this easy vanilla oat milk creamer:
    First we need to make the oat milk
    1 cup rolled oats
    1/4 cup raw cashews
    4 cups filtered water
    Add all the ingredients to a high speed blender and blend for only 30 seconds, other wise it tends to get slimy. Pour the milk into a nut bag and twist bag and start to squeeze out the milk until all that is left is the pulp from the oats. You can save it for smoothies or baked goods. Store oat milk in a glass jar in the refrigerator.
    VANILLA OAT MILK CREAMER
    2 cups oat milk
    1/2 tsp vanilla powder or 1 tsp vanilla extract
    1-3 medjool dates depending on how sweet you want it.
    Add everything into a blender and blend till smooth. Strain milk to remove any of the dates that did not get blended up. Poor into a glass jar and store in refrigerator.

      My favorites are Almond or Cashew. Depending on how I want to use the milk. I find cashew nice and thick so I tend to use it for pasta dishes or anything that I’d use cream for. Plain Almond most for everything else, and almond milk with vanilla and dates for when I want a little sweetness

      I made oat milk this morning with chickpeas. 3C water, 1C ice, 1/4C chickpeas. It doesn't taste as good as Califi Oat milk by itself. But it was delicious with cereal. It surprised me how long it took to squeeze out the milk in the bag. But, it's worth the work. Thank you. I can't wait to make the creamer next

      Also, using a bit of the enzyme amylase converts the starch to sugar and eliminates the "slime". It's the digestive enzyme in saliva that breaks down starches, and is also used in wine and beer making to convert starches in grains.

      But then does it get slimey when you add it to a hot beverage?

    I make almond flour milk.....1/2 cup almond flour 2 cups water 1/8 tsp salt. Blend 3 or 4 minutes. You dont have to strain it, pour into a jar, it does separate just shake it. I find it's easy to make

    I have a Soy Bella and make my own soy milk about once a week. I make 3 batches which ends up yielding about 1 gallon. I store it in 2 64oz mason jars. We use it in oatmeal, Rip's "cereal", smoothies and in recipes. It's a huge money saver and I now have a lot less waste - no more milk containers!

    Definitely making this, I use straight soy milk and a little maple syrup. I prefer it to be thicker creamer so this will be perfect. I also can eliminate the maple
    Syrup. Do you think it would last a week? Thanks for sharing!

    @Chew on Vegan. Is there any substitute for cashews? I'm really not supposed to have them. Thank you so much for the recipe ❤️

      Maybe you could sub another nut with a neutral flavor, maybe almonds.

      I have an all-nut allergy, including peanuts. I saw Chef AJ, who avoids all nuts now, said to use beans in place of Cashews. Garbanzo or cannenlini may be good. I'm hoping to see someone else try it 😂

    Oatmilk creamer sounds really good! Gonna give it a try. Just a question, do those brands of coffee taste like coffee? And do you prefer one over the other? Thank you ☺

      I think they do. I drink the four sigmatic in the morning and I will drink the dandy blend if I want a second cup in the morning or if I want one at night. I love them both equally. It just depends on what you want to use them for.

    Oat milk! I’ve tried making my own before, came out slimy. Thinking of giving yours a try.

    Oatmilk! This is great! Do you think you could use a clean, cotton, flour sack towel in lieu of a nut milk bag? If you don’t think that is possible, what nut milk bag do you recommend? I love learning from you!!! I am new to plant based eating. I am also a nurse! 😊

      Hello fellow nurse! I think a flour sack towel should work. I would give it a try. Any nut milk bag will do. I just a got a cheap one and it works great. So glad you are finding my videos helpful💚

    Thanks for this, I'll at least make the oat milk. I'm picky about creamer and need it to be thick. Couldn't really tell how much it lightened your drink.

    • @ChewonVegan
      @ChewonVegan  3 місяці тому

      It won't be a thick as commercial creamers because there is no oil, stabilizers or gums in my recipe.

    Thx. I did exactly what you said and the oat milk creamer doesnt stay mixed up with the coffee. After 5 minutes it all goes to bottom. Ideas?

    • @ChewonVegan
      @ChewonVegan  9 місяців тому

      Since this has no gums or fillers it will do that. I just stir it up when that happens.
