    Krita needs more love. In fact much, much more love. As much as Blender.
    It's full of features you never knew you needed. And soon they are going to update their text tools and finally we will be able to typeset comics decently (Probably the only place where Krita has been lacking). It's super close to be able to completely replace Photoshop, especially considering it's able to interact with .PSD files.

      That's really exciting! I didn't know that Krita was zeroing in on typesetting, but that's awesome. I'm all about artist being empowered, so the better that free, open-source stuff becomes, the happier I'll be. I'll be digging deeper into Krita too. Thanks for watching :)

      It also has proper animation features, where Photoshop doesn't even remotely come close to

      Just discovered it last week, looking for an alternative to Photoshop. I had no idea. I'm an Adobe instructor, and I'm telling you, I could be happy ditching an Adobe subscription for Krita. I can't recommend it highly enough. A phenomenal tool, and 100% FREE!!!

    The way you announced each software name was hillarious 😂

    I stayed on this video mostly because the Smash Bros announcer was recommending me free software.

      Thanks for sharing, and I agree! I agree so much in fact that he's the first person I talk about in the 3D section of my "Free Teachers" video. Grant is a superb teacher.

    I consider myself quite proficient with GIMP, considering how I am familiar with all tools, layers, opacity of tools and such. 🙂
    Currently, I am learning how to use Blender, since I want to make a 3D model of my car (Toyota Yaris), as well as wanting to make a model of the Fiat Panda and the Lada Niva. 🙂
    Blender does indeed have a steep learning curve. Thousands of options and shortcuts. Very easy to get lost. I need a whole minute to do what the instructor does in five seconds. But Blender is still oh so fun to learn! 😀

      Blender really is worth the effort though!

      I know it is. That is why I am continuing learning Blender! It is so rewarding to be able to make 3D models! 😀

    anything free for face capture in 3d?

    • @moltenbolt
      @moltenbolt  Рік тому

      Assuming you mean realtime motion capture, I haven't found anything reliable. I tried using Blender and my webcam to control a facial rig but had very limited success and the plugins were unintuitive (though they were free) and never quite worked correctly. I will update this comment if I find something to the contrary though!

    Krita can do SO much, it will crash your PC every single time you run it.
    Even if your PC can run everything else from this list, no problem.

    • @moltenbolt
      @moltenbolt  Рік тому

      Thanks for the heads up! I haven't personally had Krita crash, but it's apparently not uncommon. Krita's forums are very active though, so there might be help to be found. I hope Krita ends up working for you!
