Gimle Open Seas Build Rules (deadline is already past, join the Gmodist's Discord to catch the next tutorial):
- Naval ships or low flying airships. Your submission should work in a naval setting but cannot submerge, it also can't fly higher than 500m if it is an airship.
- No cheese, like no 1m tetra spam filled areas for aim spoof, no internal waterpropellers or azipods, no spincliping and all those other usual cheese tactics are banned.
- Max 100K blocks
- No extreme missile or interceptor spam (hint: use mediums and not so manny smalls)
- No waterpumps or heliumpumps what so ever, like not a single one can be present on your build.
- Under 2.2 million cost: that means 2.1XXX not 2.2XXX
- Max 2 Repair Bots
- No spawners/drones/docked crafts
- No extreme subobject spam (like 200 dif guns)
- No intentional melee
- No video screens and cameras present on the battleship (the one that makes captains see when there is no windows)
- Ship can not play video our audio sources during battle. (includes YT video players etc)
- When submitting the ship, any lights and smoke generators should be switched off and not activate during the battle since they cause unnecessary lag, if you have a decorated version with interiors etc we should check out please submit one "battle version" where laggy stuff is turned off and one "parade version" that looks cool with all its lights, video players or cameras and smoke effects etc enabled and working.
Btw: if your ship lags too much I will not be able to use it. If your ship breaks the rules the battle will be cancelled.
- Deadline: After more than a year, new submissions are now closed.
- Ships must be submitted to me via Discord DM or Email, send the .blueprint file, not a workshop link.
Battle Rules:
- The battles will be best of three.
- All ships will spawn with the bow towards Gimles bow, gimle is a one sider, but it still spawns nose to nose, make your ship manouverable enough to avoid a collission. This rule is because the ships will close in on eachother and that is much more entertaining than far away orbiting battles (thanks Menti!), if you want that, spend on manouverabillity and speed, because you are not getting optimal orbit for free.
- Given 500K materials.
- You need to be able to win within 15 minutes of ingame time per battle.

Anti gimle was indeed cooked.
I find the no cheese kinda funny because I find shields kinda cheesy lol. People rarely use other types of defense. Because the projector sheilds are so good. Although subvehicle shields would be cheesier. Lol.

You can vent threw alot of blocks. Such as airfoils. Super helpfull for jets.
the no cheese rule seems far too vague seeing as cheese is subjective and what you might consider cheese will not fit every single persons definition of cheese. and beyond that i feel you were rather rude about the craft breaking rules, you could have just not used it but instead you made several remarks about how they should have read the rules more carefully and you didn't exactly do it nicely. additionally with the rules being unclear i think you need to be more specific with what exactly is and is not against the rules. removing vague wording like not allowing "cheese" and replacing it with actual specific things would be a good start.
While I agree on the anti-cheese rule, I think you are being a bit harsh on Gmodism here. It must be a pain spending half an hour reviewing applications, downloading the file, recording yourself analysing it- only to see the rules were not followed. Personally I would have been far more apologetic (or even put it in the unoffical battles) but I don't think Gmodism was rude by any means. If anything he was completely neutral, but perhaps the lack of emotion is what makes it come across as cold.
@@Paytrolah i disagree, considering how much he went on about checking the rules, its not even a rule that you cant use interior jets, just water propulsion. its his fault he didnt write that not the builder. if a rule is only "implied" then you dont get to be mad at someone for not knowing its rule.
OMG, you are scraping the bottom of the barrel with this ship. I shouldn't say too much because I'm no expert. If I were to download this ship from the workshop and saw those missiles. I'd just delete it. Those missile interceptors are a waste. Also those large missiles. I don't know why someone would put fins in the middle of the missile. One fin near the back is enough and maybe one near the front on long missiles. Maybe if you're going after really agile airplanes have two fins at the rear and two near the front. As he said the turrets were a joke.
I don't see having no exhaust out of craft as cheese. The game lets you do it. Rules are rules though so follow them.
Is it possible for me to see how my very newbish 2.8 almost 9 dreadnought would preform against the gimle so I can learn ways to improve? A good chunk of my cost comes from the hundred or so rtgs I have in it. I’ve played the game on and off for around 3-4 months. Or do you have a suggestion for me to test my ships against to test how I’ve come along?
Hmm yes rules. Happy to have them here because it wouldnt be fun to watch the gimle fight a 200 armor class frontsider cheese craft
