Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, there are two wildly unique visions of The Force Unleashed that few realize exist. Which one is superior? Which one pushes the hardware to its limits? And which is a surprise homage to classic Lucas Arts adventures? All this and more, answered in today's video!

I’ve played TFU1 on ds more times than I can count- the ball lightning ability is still stuck in my brain! Awesome video!!!!

I’ve played numerous times too - my favourite ability was force crush (the one which used everything)

Great review, sounds like the DS was a really capable system with a lot more versatility than I expected. Glad you're out here memorializing forgotten games like Force Unleashed (DS) for their surprisingly goodness. Keep up the good work Unabridged Gamer, looking forward to the next video!

I think the DS was on par with the PS1 which was really capable at the time

As someone who grew up with the console versions of both TFU titles, it feels surreal seeing them on the DS.

It's even stranger when you've got them loaded up on a big TV and... you can totally picture them as PSX-era games. Seriously punching above their weight.

3:16 that is exactly what happened to me. I got to the final boss but the force orb thing was so annoying I just rage quit

TFU2 DS definitely looks the most interesting and distinct, being built up for the device first (2D sidescrolling), not the other way around.

TBF, the first one definitely is trying to work within the device's constraints, just not many went for full, real 3D.
Ninja Gaiden DS, for instance, is technically 3D but uses pre-rendered backgrounds like Resident Evil.

I disliked how hateful was your TFU2 Wii review honestly, so I was expecting you to be as hateful with the DS versions as well, but to my surprise you gave fair justice to them. These were my daily SW games when I was 12 and they're special to me, despite all their sad flaws, so Thank you for this video 👌🏼💯🌟...

Uh... I wouldn't call the Wii video hateful? I criticized it for problems friends later explained they had as well.
I've been reviewing The Force Unleashed series across various ports for a while, and typically favor them, so not sure why I'd be set to hate the DS versions?
I'm... very confused but glad you enjoyed the video?

Which do you prefer? TFU 1 on DS or the 7th gen version?

Um, I actually prefer the PSP version best, which you can hear all about here! ua-cam.com/video/LxC7AaHhTg4/v-deo.html

Back when I was a kid and played the Force Unleased 2 on DS I thought it being 2D was a major downgrade to the first game on DS which was 3D. I always imagined another universe where N Space also made the Force Unleased 2 DS game.

That's definitely something I've been pondering as well - same for if Krome had handled the Wii version. When I spoke with the Krome devs, they weren't quite sure why Lucasfilm passed on letting them do TFU II, so best guess is bean counters thinking they'd save money with DS internal development and Wii with Redfly? *Shrug*

@@UnabridgedGamer Facts. They should have definitely gone for consistency. The Wii version for the first game ran so smoothly compared to the sequel. Development should have handled it exactly like how the Fallen Order sequel was handled. The second game just didn't feel the same as the first on all of its platforms which I found really annoying at the time.
