Star Wars the Force Unleashed DS Review - 16 Bit Review

- Today's game request was puzzling to me. If you were to ask me back when this game came out if it was possible for Star Wars the Force Unleashed to be made for the Nintendo DS, I would've said No. The DS doesn't have the horse power to make The Force Unleashed work... or does it? After playing it I am no longer sure if that statement is true. #16bitreview

This game was the shit, man.
Merry Christmas and keep up the good content on these old gems!
Merry Christmas to you too!
So cool I found this small channel! Absolutely subscribing
Fun fact: Starkillers real name is Galen Marek.
The one of the more recent Star Wars films, there's a character named Galen Erso who was an imperial worker who defected. Personally, I think it's a reference. Good editing though! Loved the video. Made me realize how powerful handheld devices used to be.
The DS wasn't powerful. The reason why I was impressed with this game was because the skills which the developers had to optimize and utilize the little power the Nintendo DS had. Any other developer would have just made a 2D or top down something just to kick the game out the door (see Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2 on DS) but somehow despite the challenges to make a game like this, they made it anyways.
Glad I came across your channel not many people have given an in depth review on all the versions of The Force Unleashed
Thanks! One of these days I'll review the console Force Unleashed games. But I don't think it'll be any time soon.
@@16bitvirtual Well the DS and PSP versions are often the most underrated versions of the game but apart from the obvious graphical differences I feel the PS2/PSP/Wii versions of the game are superior in design, sound, and storytelling.
Nice Review, I have a strong memory of constantly dying on those mini games during the sidious boss. Somehow beat it though. I enjoyed it though once I got the psp version there was no going back.
Talking of StarWars, any chance you could add Starwars Bounty Hunter to the viewer request list ? Be cool to see your take on that game
Yeah that Sidious fight was not fun. As for Star Wars Bounty Hunter, it's been added to my request list. I think after this review my list of Star Wars games to Review is now bigger than ever other game I've been requested. Star Wars FTW
I agree with many of your points. This game is very impressive for a DS game and follows the console version fairly well. I also like how all the customization options are still here. While scaled down with less choices, there are still plenty. Controls are pretty lackluster, although dragging the stylus over multiple actions to make combos is a neat idea. The quick time events are also kind of annoying, but I prefer these quick times a lot more over the console versions quick times. Despite its flaws, it's still a good fun nostalgic port.
One of the few handheld nintendo versions of a game ported from other bigger consoles that actually felt like a quality game rather than a cash grab. Mostly because it utilized the hardware's unique features in a meaningful way
since Star Wars is on the menu, have you ever played any Star Wars gba games? I played a lot of both Lego games and Apprentice of the Force - this last one is a must play. Hope to see your thoughts on any of these. Merry Christmas
My GBA experience was mostly Pokemon and Mario, got a DS by the time I got into Star Wars.
I will be adding your GBA Star Wars games for next years viewers special list if I don't get to them first :D.
Merry Christmas too you too!
Gr8 video ur a beast dude
I clicked like when I saw the helghast helmet
Nice video!
I have been looking for this game and if you have a dump rom for it I would definitely play it. I have some games that I would recommend: the Star Wars the clone wars ds line up.
If you need a dump for them or want physical copies I can send links!
Also, thanks for the help on the battlefront game! I finally beat X2!
Good to hear about you beating Battlefront Elite Squadron. As for sharing ROMs I'd highly advise you to check out my video called "Are ROMs Legal" (I'll link it bellow), as nice of a gesture it is, sadly I cannot accept due to the legality of it. If you want the Force Unleashed it's not too expensive used, and even though it is totally easy to get a hold of a ROM of it by Googling "Star Wars The Force Unleashed DS ROM" it's totally illegal since it's Piracy, and I cannot advise you google it.
Defiantly will keep my eyes open to the Clone Wars DS games though if I don't look at them for series 6 they'll be in the running for the series 6 viewers special.

Also, sometime you should review Attack of the Clones for the GameBoy Advance. It's my least favorite game of all time, and I'd love to hear your opinion on it
Attack of the Clones, I've heard many thing about that game. Mostly to avoid it, which I managed to do thus far.
It'll be added to the View Request List I'm making.
You need to play using DSi XL. Largest Brightest DS.
Have you reviewed or will you review the sequel??
Force Unleashed II DS? I have already added it to the Viewer Special list, and it was voted on this year, but it lost by a slim margin to Bounty Hunter.
Can I request your suffering by making you review X-treme xpress for the ps2 Its a random shovelware game i found in a shop be cool to see someone review it
I will add it to my list however it is a PAL game, and the PS2 is (technically) region locked, so it might be hard for me to play it.
@@16bitvirtual K just though the game was kind of amusing
@@nerdlevel127 No issues. It seems, interesting. Not the typical kind of game I'd play, but if it get voted in a viewer special, or I want to play something new, I'll cover it.
Where is the best places to buy the game NEW
eBay if you're lucky. They stopped selling this game over a decade ago. Used copies are easier to come by.
But the Wii/PS2/PSP version is on Switch if you want a new copy.
Bro review the second one they made its a lot better
I had this and while it looked good, I found it way too easy and repetitive.
This game was fun but Im sorry. Elite Squadrons was so better
It’s not 3D, it’s 2D with optical illusions
