“Don’t cut his shoes” - Felix to a horse who’ve been neglected And that’s just like our finger and toenails - they don’t feel that being cut off. Underneath at the beginning they’ve their nerves and it’s pink-ish: if you’d cut that it’d hurt A SHIT TON for them - the equivalent would be if you cut your finger instead of just the finger nail.
I have a horse so I noticed that too, it looks really wrong if you don't know about horses but it actually will hurt more if the hooves stay like that.
Just so all of you know horses don’t have nerves in the bottom of their hooves they also need to be cut every 6-8 weeks. It’s completely normally and doesn’t hurt the horse if done by a professional farrier.
@@一-v7r they are worn down by rough terrain and by the horse moving. In captivity horses cant move enough to keep them worn down like they do in the wild
They wear down, those long hooved ones are usually mistreated and kept inside so they don't wear down naturally. Hooves can even wear out TOO much which causes pain eventually when the hoof gets too short, that's why horse shoes were invented so that doesn't happen.
For the horse vid for context- The horse’s hoofs were overgrown so they had to be trimmed. If the hoofs aren’t trimmed regularly, it can cause great discomfort for the horse. So in actuality the horse is very happy that their hooves are being trimmed. And as you can see in the video the horse isn’t kicking or showing signs of discomfort when the hooves were being trimmed.
This is good for the horses, it's like cutting their nails. They grow and need to be trimmed or they become very unpleasant and can make their walking hard.
@@isolde2241 they ware them down cause they're outside all the time. The horses which are kept indoors most of the time have trouble wearing them down that way. i'm a woman and i've had those kind of thoughts before too and know of many other people of all different kinds of genders who experience this too. I think it's just a natural human curiosity thing. Like logically, we know what would happen (we would get hurt or even die), but we still wonder what it would look like/be like/feel like anyway.
10:37 In that truck getting smashed video, there were a lot of "pre-videos" of it on reddit which always cut just before the truck hits the pole or that thing which were r/mildlyinfuriating for many people(me included). So, some legend uploaded the video where the truck finally hits the pole. It was truly satisfying.
11:49 thats exactly why we have that in our brain. It’s a self preservation response. Your brain is like “Hey, what if you jump” in order for you to get that exact reaction of “Hell no! I’m not gonna do that” and so you take a step back for the cliffs edge. Kinda cool actually, in a creepy way. Our brain is literally designed to freak us out in order for us to take a reality check.
I added this video to a playlist when it came out, got married the day of and was stressed the hell out watching this in the changing room, had an extra hour before the ceremony started and just stress watched videos. Brings back good memories everytime I see it now.
I wonder if it has something to do with videogames expanding our possibilities in the realm of exploration. I mean, high places are highly dissatisfying to me after I started playing Genshin Impact, I just want to jump from them now.
@@azahel542 it’s actually a natural human instinct called l’appel du vide and it dates back to long before video games. But maybe video games could have amplified it
@@aathilibrahim4899 l’appel du vide translates to call of the void, but it is its original name and also the one most often used when referring to the phenomenon. Some also call it high place phenomenon (HPP). Really it doesn’t matter which term you use, it’s the same thing
11:35 it's called "the call of the void". You think of the worst possible outcome in random moments like driving, at work, around heavy machinery. Pretty neat
It's a pretty weird phenomena. Like, when you're standing on a cliff, and you get one of the call of the void, you get a feeling to jump off. And then you suddenly return back to your brain and its just like, wtf...
Poods that's called the "call of the void" and it's basically where in any given situation our brain wants us to do the most extra possible thing. So the most extra thing you could do while on a cliff and happy with your life is jump off of it, but the most extra thing you could do on the edge of a building while contemplating suicide is change your mind and safely walk home.
KLE DB I think minx used to call him poods during the gmod days. I never read the comments back then so I’m not sure if fans called him poods back then as well, but I’ve certainly been seeing more people type “poods” in the comment sections lately
10:24 Their hooves feel no pain of being cut. They're basically the equivalent of toenails to us. Trust me, they LOVE it when you trim their hooves back. In fact my horse trots everywhere once she is serviced.
I think that anvil is made of gallium. Gallium melts very easily. I have some at home and I can melt it with warm water then when it's melted you can hold it and it's very cool because it's liquid metal.
Felt the same when watching, then I remembered that pressure can change the boiling temp of a solid (water at least) so theoretically maybe it could work?
Im kinda drunk and im remembering that time like 7 or 8 years ago when you literally pissed your pants playing Amnesia, and it makes me want to cry. I literally grew up watching you and loving you and you dont even know i exist. Life is beautiful
"What if I jump?" Years ago I visited my sister who was living on the 30th floor of an apartment building in Vancouver. When I went out on her balcony and looked down, the first thing I wanted to do was get a running start from the door, and leap off the railing and shout "Woo-hoo!" all the way down. I wasn't depressed or anything, I just thought it would be a fun thing to do.
What pewds describes is known as the Imp of the Perverse: "a metaphor for the urge to do exactly the wrong thing in a given situation for the sole reason that it is possible for wrong to be done."
Hey Pewds, the horse’s hooves need to be trimmed when they get long, or else it can cause the horse pain and leg/join issues! The actual cutting of the hoof doesn’t hurt the horse at all, it’s just like when a human trims their nails!
I was about to ask how wild horses trim theirs, but I googled it and it said that they walk so far on different surfaces that it happens naturally. Just thought I'd comment it incase anyone else was wondering too.
"Nature is disgusting!" "Oo doggie? 10/10" "Who TF watches this? Psychopaths?" "I think about jumping off cliffs, I am psychopath" "Ooo polite luggage!"
At 10:50 this clip used to be a gif, where the truck got super close to the pole each time, but right before it hit the pole the camera reset from a different angle. It was annoying because you never got to see what happened to the truck, but this clip gives us closure. That is why it is satisfying.

@@insperatus This. Also known as high place phenomenon, “the call of the void” is a specific type of intrusive thought and not necessarily tied to suicidal ideation. It’s occurrence is consistently linked to looking down as Felix describes.
We think about things like this so that we wont do it. You think about what if you put your hand in something.. Now you are cautious of it happening so you don't some how accidently do it. Same as when you see someone on a cliff side and think how easy it would be to just push them.
This is probably the most serious Pewds has ever rated things.

Also known as “l’appel du vide.”

Hmmm, very interesting
Very interesting indeed

Years ago I visited my sister who was living on the 30th floor of an apartment building in Vancouver. When I went out on her balcony and looked down, the first thing I wanted to do was get a running start from the door, and leap off the railing and shout "Woo-hoo!" all the way down. I wasn't depressed or anything, I just thought it would be a fun thing to do.

11:40 I literally had the exact same thought
Hey Pewds, the horse’s hooves need to be trimmed when they get long, or else it can cause the horse pain and leg/join issues! The actual cutting of the hoof doesn’t hurt the horse at all, it’s just like when a human trims their nails!
I was about to ask how wild horses trim theirs, but I googled it and it said that they walk so far on different surfaces that it happens naturally. Just thought I'd comment it incase anyone else was wondering too.
The hooves are made of the same things our nails are made of. They have no feeling in it.

At 10:50 this clip used to be a gif, where the truck got super close to the pole each time, but right before it hit the pole the camera reset from a different angle. We think about things like this so that we wont do it. You think about what if you put your hand in something.. Now you are cautious of it happening so you don't some how accidently do it. Same as when you see someone on a cliff side and think how easy it would be to just push them.
