The thing I hate the most is that "DreamSMP Official" has the verified badge. You know, the thing that was introduced so channels could be proven legitimate. So channels called "X official" were actually verifiably official. Now it's just a "you've got subscribers !" trophy.

The biggest thing I hated were the bots. The video situations have happened before and I’m glad YT is finally doing something about it. However, it’s not good, they need to fix this loophole and I’m so done with it. The bots on the other hand, the fucking bots, are just as bad if not worse and it sickens me that they have done nothing in the past 3+ years these types of bots have been around. My 20 minutes of crying (which I never watched him or knew much of who he was) became 30 minutes of straight anger because of the damn bots. It’s so fucking disrespectful and the fact they aren’t removed after a certain time is absolutely BS and unfathomable. Why? Because YT should have at least safe guarded this channel and made it so where the bots were immediately taken down or at least put into review for that channel. It’s entirely YT’s fault and they need to stop this or more like this will happen. I couldn’t imagine this happening to some of the UA-camrs I’ve been watching for the past decade+ and if I saw this disrespect I’d be even more outraged then I am now. It’s so unfair to both the viewers and the creators on this platform.

The same sorta thing happened with Jacksepticeye when his dad passed away about a year ago. People saw that as an opportunity to call him out and make memes out of what was a tragic event for him, saying things like, "Jack's dad is burning in hell" like people are with Technoblade. Utterly disgusting and awful.

This entire situation makes me sick to my stomach. This isn’t even the worst part- Technoblade literally has a family and several siblings; his siblings are most likely still teenagers and sometimes not even adults are able to avoid the internet completely for the rest of their life, let alone literal teenagers because society practically thrives off of social media. Imagine if one day Technoblade’s relatives, parents, or even any of his siblings see people online milking the tragedy for their own profit and they wouldn’t even be able to confront them in any way. Bare in mind, Technoblade literally has a younger sister who’s only around TWELVE. Imagine her seeing this online about HER OWN BROTHER’S PASSING? It’s just fucking sick people can’t spare even a hint of respect or compassion for anyone.
If anyone claims that Charlie is using this for monetary gain, you haven’t been around long enough to remember that when he was a smaller channel, he used to donate all of his monthly earnings to different charities. If he didn’t keep the money when he actually needed it years ago, he definitely doesn’t need it now.
I remember when Charlie first showed his face and came out saying he wanted to do advertised content so he could actually turn UA-cam into a job. He like asked permission. Dude continues to donate most of his earnings too. Charlie is a W youtuber, and is a pillar of support in a community he’s built from the ground up. What’s sad is that this has happened for years and years. People today still profit off of artists and famous people who died decades ago, and now, the internet has made that even more rampant. It’s so sad that people can’t die a peaceful death, without someone being a slimy dick and profiting off of it. May you rest well, Technoblade. I didn’t watch his content but I have friends who did, and he really helped make their days when they were at their lowest. That also goes out to anyone who loved and enjoyed him

@@rhyano_the vast majority of his fan base was/is teenagers 12-18. I’m actually over 20 and have been watching him for over 7 years. Idk. His sense of humor was not what I’d call childish. He had a very dark and unique sense of humor. His fan base is most certainly not all children, although i understand where that idea comes from.
I’ll say this again; This guy immediately jumped to clickbait as soon as Techno announced he had cancer, he privated a few of the videos because he was called out for it, myself calling him out too. When Techno was announced dead, I tried calling him out too but I was hidden, of course. I’m really hoping the same thing that happened to Owen happens to DreamSMP Official, and whilst I’m here: I hate all of the reply bots that self promote off of Techno’s death, and even when they’re not bots, that makes them worse. The Dream SMP channels have been posting a LOT of videos about a certain topic while being completely monetized even way before Techno's passing. They post Dream SMP clips from the streamers that are in it like every day or less, it's basically the same thing with the trend but now it's worse just like Charlie said since they use someone's passing as an opportunity for revenue.
I feel super bad for his family, I hate when people milk content on dead people. It's like those stupid 3am calling videos. I hope Techno's family is okay

But think about who these videos are likely aimed towards: kids, who, for better or worse, make up a good portion of the dreamSMP fanbase. They’re a lot more gullible and are way more likely to be guilted into doing whatever the video asks them to do, which makes runalong’s motives that much more disgusting. No one is mentioning that the guy donating 3000$ of the money he earned from viewers and lied about it is committing a crime. He committed a crime known as Charity Fraud. Because of the fact it was online I’m pretty means it’s on a federal level. A federal crime!
As much as I hate this dude, it isn't charity fraud. That is when you use deception to make someone give money to you under the guise of it being for charity. At most he encouraged people to watch his videos for ad revenue openly, and lied about giving it to charity. They are not really giving their own money to him, so it isn't technically illegal. Still, it's absolutely disgusting.

I was in Basic Military Training when someone got a letter saying Technoblade had passed away. And that was the one and only time I cried during boot camp
Why would someone send sad news through letters in bootcamp? If someone I knew was in bootcamp I would wait until they are back so they don't have to deal with it while going through the most stressful time of their life
Can’t even imagine the amount of torment that Alex’s family is going through right now, and now they have to deal with all the people milking their son’s untimely passing. Glad that the ItsOwen account was taken down but it’s still very disappointing how UA-cam has been letting most of this slide for years now. It’s been an issue for over half a decade already, not new at all and all they’ve done is sweep it under the rug. Now that we finally have enough people speaking out against it, I pray that they actually take drastic measures to change the platform.

My mother died not long ago (This week), and seeing Techno's death being profited off of like this, it sickens me to the point where I imagine how it would feel if it was my mother instead of Technoblade being used for profit by these scummy channels. A person's death should be respected, especially if they were a big model to people like Technoblade was for the Minecraft community. The best for people that pass from cancer like my mother did, should be respected and remembered for who they were, not how they turned out, and because Techno was turned into some profit magnet by these channels. I'm happy to know that this is being recognized as wrong and disrespectful, and I am glad action is being taken against these profit seeking channels. 1 video or tribute should be enough for Techno, and it shouldn't be used as profit. If people really want to donate to charity, they should avoid channels that do videos on Technoblade, and go straight to the source of the charity, like the website or Technoblade's channel link for the charity. To anybody that had experiences with loved ones passing away, especially from cancer, like my mother; I hope the best for all that have been affected by the death of their loved ones, especially the ones closest to the person that has passed away. Just know, that you are not alone and you are loved by many more people. Hopefully I did not waste anybody's time with this rant, and I wish you all a good day.

Another terrible thing about the Braso situation is that not only did he try to play the victim after lying about donating, but he then made a community post with a tone of “haha look at this stupid thing I did I hate myself sometimes”, acting like it was all funny and like what he did wasn’t indefensible. As someone who’s currently 5-8 days away from finding out my biopsy results for skin cancer, I can only feel angry that this shit is happening. I’m not famous, nor do I care to be, but imagining someone profiting off of my horrifying and stressful situation has me livid. I wasn’t a fan of techno, nor did I even know he existed, but I feel so much sadness for him and his family. Heartless people are making it impossible for his family to grieve. There’s a fine line between memorial/positive videos and pure greed/profit videos. They don’t care about techno, cancer awareness, or his family. They care about themselves, but that’s simply what the world has come to. Btw, don’t worry about me guys if you’ve read this far. My 14 year old son loves gaming and was hopeful to start streaming like his favorite gamers do but I think this situation has made him fearful to do it. He's afraid that people will find out he is also battling a cancer diagnosis and people would be hateful about it or try to profit from it....he felt a bit of community when he learned of technoblades similar circumstances But he was heartbroken to hear he passed away. He has a different type of cancer so his story shouldn't end the same way but it's still a realistic nightmare....thank you for speaking out about this. It's not right at all and I'm so heartbroken for his family to have to witness his legacy be tainted by greed
Your son can do anything he puts his mind too. Technoblade was wonderful and taught us to keep our head up high and to chase after our goals. There will always be those people, but there also will always be good people. I think it's important to remind him of that. If he chases his dreams and commits, I'm sure he'll get a good fan base, even if it takes a bit. My grandmother always said "it takes all kinds" meaning that there's all kinds of people out there, making the world go round one way or another. Though we can't control them, we can control ourselves, our hopes and dreams. My heart reaches out to you and your son, and I wish you both the best

The fact that Corona was blacklisted from ad revenue yet a UA-camrs death that has affected so many lives is not. It’s obscene that they’ve done only a few things like ban one or two channels yet haven’t stopped the exploitation of his death by using the tools they used for blocking revenue for the pandemic exploiters. If companies aren’t going to riot we need someone to bro, god it’s disgusting. Not to mention so many people have died during their UA-cam career, yet they were never exploited like this, Total Biscuit comes to my mind when thinking of this.

I once was in a circle of people who post dsmp and lunch club compilations and it was disgusting. Some people straight up ignored the fact that the streamers are people too, treating them as content source and humiliating them with clickbait titles, shipping for views, deforming their faces for thumbnails in a creepy way and more. There was a time where i tried reaching out to content creators to stop the money farming that's going on, the unfair one, to beat some sense in people like in this video who seem to think about themselves over everyone else, but only Minx replied, and Schlatt took some videos down for my request (i linked him a scum channel through a donation). I actually talked to RunAlong like a year ago and he seemed like a cool guy who spends all his time to make money but God knew this would get this far, i feel disgusted in what he became. It made me angry that no one cares about this issue, so it made my day when i saw Charlie talk about it. Andrew, if I’m being honest, you can apply that logic to about anything on UA-cam since it all requires something to be content and to be profited on. I think the more important thing to question is the intent of the content. Penguin uploaded this obviously for financial gain as well, but every UA-camr does this. His main goal was to call out something he saw on the platform, and I can respect that. Similarly, I wouldn’t care if anyone made one video that got popular mourning techno’s death, but these creators took it too far in my book.

And there are two main reason why as a community we should cafe about this kind of stuff, the first being Techno's family, imagine losing you son/brother and seeing how a bunch of scumbags start making money and views because of it, and second, it sets a precedent, if they get away with it that just shows that you can do this kind sh*t with anyone's death and go unpunished.

However, these channels are taking bits and pieces of other content and then associating it with techno so they can still use him as content even after he passed. It’s not original and is fine with empty promises. Techno may be all for low effort original content but would he really stand for free clout when he doesn’t get any of the benefits for them using his name

My heart reaches out to Techno's fan base and family. My mother personally suffered from a sarcoma in her leg. It was myxoid lyposarcoma. Seeing as Techno has been a big inspiration to me in the last 5ish years, and one of the only Minecraft UA-camrs that I still watch, especially considering I'm in college now, finding out about his passing destroyed me, and to see douchebags profit off of his death is fucking disgusting. Serious question, can't a channel literally calling itself "Dream SMP Official" get terminated for impersonation? It's not an official channel to the DSMP, and it's not run or approved up by anyone on the dmsp. It also exclusively consists of stolen/reuploaded content. Like, in youtube's TOS, impersonation includes: "Channels claiming to be a “fan account,” but actually posing as another’s channel and reuploading their content." and "Channel impersonation: A channel that copies another channel's profile, background, or overall look and feel in such a way that makes it look like someone else's channel. The channel does not have to be 100% identical, as long as the intent is clear to copy the other channel." It's pretty clear that the channel mimics dream's channel and is trying to trick viewers into believing that it's a legit news source for dsmp. It reuploads dsmp creator's content constantly. Might be worth going and reporting it for impersonation to see if youtube will remove it.

@@suqma7828 Impersonation doesn't always mean a direct copy, I know for a fact other channels have been taken down for calling themselves "official" sources for video games and such, since they aren't. The channel is clearly designed to look like it's from the dsmp creators, from the icon/channel name/channel wording, so I feel like it could get counted under that category.

The biggest thing I hated were the bots. The video situations have happened before and I’m glad YT is finally doing something about it. However, it’s not good, they need to fix this loophole and I’m so done with it.
The bots on the other hand, the fucking bots, are just as bad if not worse and it sickens me that they have done nothing in the past 3+ years these types of bots have been around. My 20 minutes of crying (which I never watched him or knew much of who he was) became 30 minutes of straight anger because of the damn bots. My mother died not long ago (This week), and seeing Techno's death being profited off of like this, it sickens me to the point where I imagine how it would feel if it was my mother instead of Technoblade being used for profit by these scummy channels. A person's death should be respected, especially if they were a big model to people like Technoblade was for the Minecraft community. The best for people that pass from cancer like my mother did, should be respected and remembered for who they were, not how they turned out, and because Techno was turned into some profit magnet by these channels. I'm happy to know that this is being recognized as wrong and disrespectful, and I am glad action is being taken against these profit seeking channels. 1 video or tribute should be enough for Techno, and it shouldn't be used as profit. If people really want to donate to charity, they should avoid channels that do videos on Technoblade, and go straight to the source of the charity, like the website or Technoblade's channel link for the charity.
To anybody that had experiences with loved ones passing away, especially from cancer, like my mother; I hope the best for all that have been affected by the death of their loved ones, especially the ones closest to the person that has passed away. Just know, that you are not alone and you are loved by many more people. Hopefully I did not waste anybody's time with this rant, and I wish you all a good day.

As someone who’s currently 5-8 days away from finding out my biopsy results for skin cancer, I can only feel angry that this shit is happening. I’m not famous, nor do I care to be, but imagining someone profiting off of my horrifying and stressful situation has me livid. I wasn’t a fan of techno, nor did I even know he existed, but I feel so much sadness for him and his family. Heartless people are making it impossible for his family to grieve. There’s a fine line between memorial/positive videos and pure greed/profit videos. They don’t care about techno, cancer awareness, or his family. They care about themselves, but that’s simply what the world has come to. Btw, don’t worry about me guys if you’ve read this far. I’m hoping I caught it early enough, I should be fine :)

My 14 year old son loves gaming and was hopeful to start streaming like his favorite gamers do but I think this situation has made him fearful to do it. He's afraid that people will find out he is also battling a cancer diagnosis and people would be hateful about it or try to profit from it....he felt a bit of community when he learned of technoblades similar circumstances But he was heartbroken to hear he passed away. He has a different type of cancer so his story shouldn't end the same way but it's still a realistic nightmare....thank you for speaking out about this. Your son can do anything he puts his mind too. Technoblade was wonderful and taught us to keep our head up high and to chase after our goals. There will always be those people, but there also will always be good people. I think it's important to remind him of that. If he chases his dreams and commits, I'm sure he'll get a good fan base, even if it takes a bit. My grandmother always said "it takes all kinds" meaning that there's all kinds of people out there, making the world go round one way or another. Though we can't control them, we can control ourselves, our hopes and dreams. My heart reaches out to you and your son, and I wish you both the best

I once was in a circle of people who post dsmp and lunch club compilations and it was disgusting. Some people straight up ignored the fact that the streamers are people too, treating them as content source and humiliating them with clickbait titles, shipping for views, deforming their faces for thumbnails in a creepy way and more.
There was a time where i tried reaching out to content creators to stop the money farming that's going on, the unfair one, to beat some sense in people like in this video who seem to think about themselves over everyone else, but only Minx replied, and Schlatt took some videos down for my request (i linked him a scum channel through a donation).
I actually talked to RunAlong like a year ago and he seemed like a cool guy who spends all his time to make money but God knew this would get this far, i feel disgusted in what he became. It made me angry that no one cares about this issue, so it made my day when i saw Charlie talk about it. Big W to you

Andrew, if I’m being honest, you can apply that logic to about anything on UA-cam since it all requires something to be content and to be profited on.
I think the more important thing to question is the intent of the content. Penguin uploaded this obviously for financial gain as well, but every UA-camr does this. His main goal was to call out something he saw on the platform, and I can respect that.
Similarly, I wouldn’t care if anyone made one video that got popular mourning techno’s death, but these creators took it too far in my book.

And there are two main reason why as a community we should cafe about this kind of stuff, the first being Techno's family, imagine losing you son/brother and seeing how a bunch of scumbags start making money and views because of it, and second, it sets a precedent, if they get away with it that just shows that you can do this kind sh*t with anyone's death and go unpunished.

However, these channels are taking bits and pieces of other content and then associating it with techno so they can still use him as content even after he passed. It’s not original and is fine with empty promises. Techno may be all for low effort original content but would he really stand for free clout when he doesn’t get any of the benefits for them using his name

My heart reaches out to Techno's fan base and family. My mother personally suffered from a sarcoma in her leg. It was myxoid lyposarcoma. Serious question, can't a channel literally calling itself "Dream SMP Official" get terminated for impersonation? It's not an official channel to the DSMP, and it's not run or approved up by anyone on the dmsp. It also exclusively consists of stolen/reuploaded content. Like, in youtube's TOS, impersonation includes:
"Channels claiming to be a “fan account,” but actually posing as another’s channel and reuploading their content."
and
"Channel impersonation: A channel that copies another channel's profile, background, or overall look and feel in such a way that makes it look like someone else's channel. The channel does not have to be 100% identical, as long as the intent is clear to copy the other channel."
It's pretty clear that the channel mimics dream's channel and is trying to trick viewers into believing that it's a legit news source for dsmp. It reuploads dsmp creator's content constantly. Might be worth going and reporting it for impersonation to see if youtube will remove it.

@@suqma7828 Impersonation doesn't always mean a direct copy, I know for a fact other channels have been taken down for calling themselves "official" sources for video games and such, since they aren't. The channel is clearly designed to look like it's from the dsmp creators, from the icon/channel name/channel wording, so I feel like it could get counted under that category.

It’s good to see at least some people like SAD-ist are doing the complete opposite. Had been making quality videos and recently went back and made everyone of them with Technoblade into a fundraiser. Some people have kind hearts still.

The fact that Corona was blacklisted from ad revenue yet a UA-camrs death that has affected so many lives is not. It’s obscene that they’ve done only a few things like ban one or two channels yet haven’t stopped the exploitation of his death by using the tools they used for blocking revenue for the pandemic exploiters.
