Could you choreograph a routine to "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen? I've been asked to participate in a local "Dancing with Our Stars" fundraiser, and I love that this song starts slow and then is so up-tempo. My "celebrity" partner (a local veterinarian) is 69 and he could easily dance me (aged 55) into the floor! I'm worried this may be a little too fast for us (for me, at least), but if you think this song would be workable, I think it would be awesome. If it's too fast for "old folks" like us, perhaps a routine to "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" - also by Queen - would work. Or if you already have some recorded jive routines in the 2-3 minute range that you'd recommend, please point me in the right direction. Thank you!
Hello @Lori Great song choices! So far on our channel, we have the jive routine from this video, as well as another short one here: ua-cam.com/video/InTwuazbbzo/v-deo.html You can try to piece them together to fit the music. Hi LiWen and Tytus! Thank you so much for your videos they're very fun and helpful! Just one question, when you are teaching the change of hands behind the back, you said that the follower should do the 3&4 spinning left and then the 5&6 also continuing to spin left but when you demonstrate it as a pair LiWen seems to be turning the 3&4 to the left and then the 5&6 to the right. Are they both correct? Thank you! ❤
Good video (goes without saying...). Wanted to ask for clarity. When you said that the technique for the knees was soft (time: 5:03-5:05), this does appear different than what is seen in competition at advanced levels, where the knees are raised close to top thigh level. I see the advanced competitions do the soft knee technique, but also the raised knee technique also. So am I correct that this difference is due to the technique level (beginner to advanced, ie: Micheal Wentink) of the Jive dance? - or is it solely dependent on the figure they are dancing like flicks and kicks?
Eglis Smargis, a respected ballroom dance teacher, had recognized these differences in jive technique and I can tell you this - Eglis says that when you are doing a hard knee technique - or raised technique, he calls this "Jumping Jive Style" ; but if it is a soft knee technique, he calls it "Swinging Jive Style." So "Jumping Jive" will have much more flicks and kicks that are high-based than that of the soft technique.
Wait a sec.... Are you telling me that Jive is basically triple ECS but beginning on a rock step? I always pictured more swing content in my imagination. Crazy!
@Alex Van Tol - yes jive basic here is similar to ECS triple step basic. Just that ECS starts with the side triple steps/ chasses on 1. In Jive, we start with the rock step on 1. Do you do both styles? :)
Dance Insanity I’m trying to learn jive. But I must say I learned ECS by doing the rock step first, though I’ve since learned you can start with either, and that it’s the speed and execution of the steps that differentiate swing from jive. Is that true? Thank you :)
Dance Insanity I think I really love the energy it uses. It’s very high energy, even just doing the basic for long enough, but I get as much energy back from it as I give so I really enjoy that.

👍🏼😉👍🏼 you're welcome!
thank you!
Wait a sec.... Are you telling me that Jive is basically triple ECS but beginning on a rock step? I always pictured more swing content in my imagination. Crazy!
Yup! @Heather, crazy right! Do u dance ECS?
@@DanceInsanity Mostly WCS here, but I dabble. :) Great video!
Hay nhất
What is the title of the music?
@Ishang Zamora Song we danced to is called "Woman Lover" :)
what's the name of the background song?
Does anyone know the correct BPM for this dance? All of the rock and roll songs I use are too fast!
OK!!!
Glad you like it 🙌🏼
cool!
mucho K!
What'a the title of the song?
the song is "Pretty Woman Lover" by Joe Exotic :))
How are you supposed to bounce/jump when you're dancing barefoot?
This seems very similar to east coast swing.
yup. it is very similar. :)
The basic is the same as the basic for east coast swing, what?
@Alex Van Tol - yes jive basic here is similar to ECS triple step basic. Just that ECS starts with the side triple steps/ chasses on 1. In Jive, we start with the rock step on 1. Do you do both styles? :)
Dance Insanity I’m trying to learn jive. But I must say I learned ECS by doing the rock step first, though I’ve since learned you can start with either, and that it’s the speed and execution of the steps that differentiate swing from jive. Is that true? Thank you :)
@Alex Van Tol super right on!
What do u like about jive so far?? 😊
Dance Insanity I think I really love the energy it uses. It’s very high energy, even just doing the basic for long enough, but I get as much energy back from it as I give so I really enjoy that.
Dance Insanity but I have to ask because I’m curious, what is your favorite dance style?
Can that man put some colth on?
I can do that dance my freind told me that. I guess know i know why i always win in dance battle 🤔
Very good!!
