I'm glad an innocent man is finally walking free... not every day you get to see that, unfortunately. To be stuck in prison for that long for a crime you didn't commit is a horrifying circumstance. Godspeed that man, and I hope his freedom can be lived as peacefully as humanly possible 🙏
I think I legit got choked up on that footage of Chris Dunn walking out. Thank God some people decided to keep trying to get him set free, props to his friends and family and lawyers for sticking by him and not giving up. Props to Chris for never giving up.
This happening in Missouri and not being freed on DNA, means he is not eligible on compensation (which is very meager is Missouri anyway). Im happy he is free, but this part is messed up.
I think a lot of people forget that you can't argue reason with people like Sneako. Yea, Critical could have explained it better, but Sneako wouldn't have allowed him to speak, or would twist his words. There is no reasoning with the willfully ignorant.
The streamer Destiny crushed Sneako dozens of times last year. Sneako is incapable of taking in information that contradicts his views, him and his audience are not worth the oxygen of arguing with them
Additionally, Sneako has zero incentive to agree. Sneako instead has more incentive to stir the pot and create drama because that creates more interest in HIS content. The reason being that when ContentCop (forgetting his actual name) changed his stance on a bunch of stuff and actually had a change of heart.. his entire audience left and began to attack and bully him. He also didn’t garner a new audience because he had already pissed off the people who would’ve liked this new change. That’s just what happens when people like Sneako create toxic environments. It’s all just grifting. Even if you can talk faster, harder, retort better, they just don’t get anything from agreeing. They’ll just lose income and viewers because the money dictates their “stances” and viewership. It’s a pretty gnarly relationship between money and views. I think the best thing Critikal can do is release well thought out videos like he did with the magazine/clip drama. It’s easier to just make Sneako look like an idiot and make his young viewers feel like idiots, which I guess he almost did.
The fact that moist critical is getting more heat for saying it's not his decisions but the parents and the child instead of the guy arguing you can marry someone as soon as they hit puberty is crazy.
If the human brain isn't done developing until 25 how can we allow a child to choose to transition if they can't even choose to drink or smoke but they can choose something thay will change the rest of their life
My only heat against him is the child has no voice. Children can be manipulated by parents over years. And the opinions of the parents aren't always right. We are all delusional in our own way
The guy in the grey tracksuit trying to puff his chest to the cops getting his ish rocked by not one, but two bricks only to get rocked in the nuts is hilarious to me
I'm still processing the injustice done to Chris Dunn. We're almost the same age. If we had been in high school together, he would have been a senior when I was a sophomore. As I sit here and think about everything that has occurred in my life since I was that age, I cannot help but mourn the life that was stolen from him. All of the experiences that make up my entire adulthood... he spent every day of it in prison. Thousands of days. Millions of opportunities. All gone because two people lied, and that was good enough for a jury. And THEN to add the despicable behavior by the AG on top? We need a new word for injustice.
There is absolutely no reason our system moves as slowly as it does, either. None. Everything is so full of bureaucracy things that should take weeks months, months years.
Missouri's state AG Andrew Bailey is pretty terrible, he only has the job because his two predecessors were elected to the Senate. Hardcore lock them up kind of guy, which appeals to the base in the rural parts of the state, and in suburban areas like St. Charles or Clay counties. He has a challenger in next weeks primary, but that guy is just as bad, and barring something crazy happening, he should win easily in November.

You cannot undergo transitional surgery if you are under the age of 18 (at least if you’re in the US). Even if you are 18 you can’t walk into a clinic and say “I want to transition, give me surgery.” You need to have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria for AT LEAST 6 months, usually longer. You also need a psychologist who has been working with you for AT LEAST 6 months, usually longer, to sign off on you getting transitional surgery, to say that this is the correct form of treatment for you. This ridiculous misconception that anyone, at any age, can walk into a clinic and immediately undergo transitional surgery, is completely wrong, and incredibly stupid.
What sucks is it's easy and takes a few seconds to lie and say "they're trying to brainwash YOUR kids into thinking they are trans, they are going to put them on 'dangerous' drugs and they are going to surgically remove your kids genitals and ruin their life forever." Not so easy and takes much longer to explain the complicated and often boring reality of it all.
Right!? The VAST majority of surgeries for minors are top surgeries, which means the entire idea of a prepubescent child getting surgery is completely ridiculous. Why would you perform top surgery on a child? They don't have a top to surgery!

As a Brit (and one who lives very close to Southport) this horrendous violence that occurred is absolutely disgusting but I would like you to know that after the attack on the mosque over 100 people in the community came to help rebuild and repair the damage.
The Christopher Dunn story was the bit of good news I needed this morning! So happy that they did the right thing a d let him out of prison, but angry that it took them so long to release him.
This is great news! What's not good news is that I realized how old I feel when I heard "after 34 years in prison" and then later heard "was convicted in 1990" It mad me feel old knowing that 1990 was 34 years ago. That's just nuts to me 😢
Today I have more information from my town Southport. Both teachers are awake and physically in recovery. No word yet on the 5 children still in critical care. Many businesses have been wonderful offering their services for free. This including transportation, flowers, shutter replacement for a shop that was vandalised, free damage repairs etc. And watching the hundreds of people in my town show up to clean up the mess those barbaric rioters caused was heartwarming. The attack on our police last night is so horrific I cant even type what they did.

The way people think you just immediately ‘mutilate’ your genitalia and have easy access to everything is crazy. I went through several therapy sessions, got diagnosed with gender dysphoria, was able to go on meds after a couple years and then had surgery last year. And I was lucky to be in an accepting state with good insurance 😭 it is not that easy

I think people like Sneako know deep down that it’s not easy to get gender affirming care. It’s easier to argue their point if they make it the other side seem as impulsive and extreme as possible.
I think it is important to fight back against people like moist readily saying Yes to the the propagandized version, even if they thought it was hyperbole. Because it leads to people, who don't know about gender affirming care, believing the bs right wing people say.

As someone whos been on hrt for 2 years and had to fight for just a minor surgery, the way Sneako talks just upsets me. That’s definitely not how HRT works. To undergo gender-affirming surgery, you need to have been on hormone replacement therapy for over a year. Additionally, in like 99% of cases, extensive psychological evaluations are required before such surgery can be performed. Moreover, most providers will not perform surgery until you are over 18.
They don't know anything because they've never spoken to a trans person. They are just talking to each other in echo-chambers of right-wing fear-mongering, lying, exaggerating and this phony persona of claiming they want to protect kids. Just my opinion, but on Charlie - I think he could have stated his views better, and probably should've corrected Sneako on what transitoning really is. I think it's very reasonable to think cutting d off was a hyperbole, since transitoning isn't that. Also I think comparing child marriage to HRT is not a good comparison - they are significantly different.
They are different, but they are both External entities trying to make minors doing something that they are not capable of comprehending the severity of the event.
Ehh...mastectomies are being done to minors, as well as other surgical intervention. and hormone blockers aren't reversible per se. the fact is that no one should be doing ireversible things to a child that cannot consent, unless it's strictly medically necessary.
@tweakfreq1982 Do you think the idea that gay and trans people are indoctrinating children to think they’re gay or trans, is accurate? This whole idea that “leave the children alone” has always been about claiming that being gay is an “adult” conversation that’s inherently sexual and confusing for children, but I think that attitude has almost been dispelled. So were conservatives correct when they were saying gay people shouldn’t be allowed to teach or to even be near children for fear of turning those kids gay, and does the fact that this argument gets recycled now targeted at trans people make you stop to consider its validity?
No they really are not good comparisons but I believe Sneako is just purposely using a stupid argument to make Charlie realise he thinking it wrong. You have to also understand that Sneako's argument is a thing that also actually takes place even in the US. Both of them should have realised they were using equally stupid arguments which rendered the entire conversation meaningless.

I'm from the UK. America has always been seen as a beacon of democracy and progression, but seeing the way American attitudes have been changing over the last 10 years make me genuinely sad. We're seeing similar problems here, populations are completely polarised and tensions are running high. We're clearly losing the misinformation war and its not just driving wedges between allied nations, but the citizens in those countries as well. The old concept of divide and conquer. We'll be too busy tearing ourselves apart to see any attack coming, support our allies or help keep global peace (e.g. Ukraine, Taiwan, Palestine etc...)
I started tearing up at the comment of the parent in Southport. The thing that struck me most is her describing how this act of armed violence "moved the entire country". As an American, there is something both beautiful and enviable to me about an entire country that can be moved by local tragedy.
This riot at Southport has to be one of the best examples of how "the internet ruined everything." The attack on the dance class was genuinely horrific but the aftermath (including the riot) is so insanely stupid because it's completely based on online misinformation that the murderer was an undocumented Muslim migrant. The "migrant" has definitely been refuted by the police already because they said he was born in the UK. The Muslim part might be true but the police have also said they're not treating the case as "terrorism" related. There's almost no confirmed information about the attacker. Yet enough people bought into internet memes and random claims that a mob went to the town and tried to attack a mosque while getting in a fight with the police (who sustained injuries). We've got to do better as a society.
Eh, people have always been this stupid. The internet just streamlined it. Just look at one of the more famous examples like Emmett Till. Or look at what people used to believe about Jews only 100 years ago, stuff like they could grown horns. Or that Japanese people could grow tails.
As soon as something like this happens, people tend to think like this; - How did this happen - Who did this Then when the police say something like _It's not terrorism related_ , immediately it clicks in people's heads, no matter if you're left, right, center, up, down, " _Oh, it was one of _*_THEM_*_ again.._ " because the news over decades have been very careful not to mention certain descriptors when it comes to non-white people, which leads people to automatically know that one crucial thing. Then add to the fact as you say, The internet ruined everything. The far-right will immediately put out any kind of news about how this is indeed a rampaging Muslim or " _Another black guy!_ " and that gets them all riled up and triggered. Then, depending on the severity of the news such as this horrific news of stabbing children and you can get that they're planning retaliation against other innocent people, going with " _It'll all be better if just THEY weren't here!_ " mentality. I recon it'll potentially get worse over the next week.

@@CMTZ11 I worked for a call center during the 2016 election cycle, and we did quite a bit of polling. The quality of the poll really depends on who pays for the information, though. They include genuine polling questions only insofar as to gauge the effectiveness of their marketing tactics. I highly recommend doing further research on their claims if you are interviewed for one of these polls. I struggle to call the orders we received from political campaigns "polls", as they tended to function as an extension of the campaigns themselves. During the 2016 election, Trump polls were by far the most egregious. Nearly every question was framed to smear his political opponents or aggrandize his character, with the intention of changing the opinions of the voters rather than gauging their intentions or what mattered to them most. I should note, removing the bias of interviewers from the polling process was incredibly important during my time. We relied heavily on the questionnaires we were given by our employers, and were very careful not to go off script. If the poll did not include identifying information announcing its author, then we were not told who had placed the order. Most of the polls run by political campaigns were intended to be "anonymous", but the questions themselves were so blatantly biased that it was ridiculous to assume ambiguity. We also had quotas to fill for varying demographics. Different orders would request a certain number of participants from varying backgrounds in order to achieve an acceptable risk of bias. This is why polls start with questions regarding age, sex/gender, race, political affiliation, or any other relevant qualifying information.

Imagine if this was the standard in all schools
For the Moist Critikal story, it’s very, very interesting that people are getting on Charlie’s case for his opinion regarding hormonal therapy and sex-change surgery…but Sneako makes the comment about how age of consent doesn’t make sense and shouldn’t be a thing and other numerous remarks about underage relationships and no one bats an eye. Yet, these are the same people that say “Protect the children! Protect the children! Save them! Save them!” Hmm extremely telling, sounds like they need their hard drives checked.
Maybe its because its Sneako? Like, people aren't going to expect him to have a good take nor say something good. Its like expecting any of the Paul brothers not to get into trouble. Or expecting sh** not to smell like... sh**. Hence people are more surprised by Charlie's take as it goes against what they said.
Hasn't Sneako expressed similar opinions before on child marriage? Don't get me wrong, I think that's a bigger deal than Moist Critikal's take, but I think it's because it new not because it's "controversial".
Dude it's genuinely infuriating that so many people think that changing your gender is as simple as walking into the nearest doctor's office, telling him you're trans, and immediately being prescribed hormones. It's not even close to that simple even for adults. So for a child? They first need to be put on blockers at the right age, receive numerous psychiatric evaluations, and they often need to have thoughts of self harm before hormones are even considered. Everyone says that children can't consent but they do not need it to literally un-alive themselves.
I think one of the biggest things with Harris is, Biden and Trump, very well known across the country so opinions very set in stone, much harder to adjust them. Harris being less known, makes it much easier to make big swings in polls. So I imagine polling will continue shifting more, and be less reliable than before, but will improve in quality as opinions start to set.
Not going to lie, it's very surreal seeing my hometown in a Philip Defranco title and hearing you talking about it, just wish it was under better circumstances than this. That said, whilst these riots were taking place a lot of town locals were attending a vigil in the town centre and weren't present during the violence unless caught in the crossfire due to living nearby. Now obviously, I'm not saying that there weren't any people from Southport involved in the violence because there were plenty. However, a large amount of those involved arrived from out of town by the car load in the late afternoon and were directed to do so by The English Defense League (basically a group of British neo-nazis and in my opinion terrorists) and similar groups via public social media pages/accounts/group chats; using rumours of the murderer being an illegal Syrian Muslim asylum seeker as an excuse to specifically targeting the local mosque. In the aftermath of which, once these thugs had their fill of violence it was left up to locals to clean up the mess.
I saw the clips of the people who were trying to stop the bigots from stealing parts of their stone walls to throw at police, being beaten by the racists, in their own gardens. It's terrifying to see, and surprise surprise, Starmer doesn't give a shit about protecting any of us from these bigoted idiots, even on our own properties, where we're meant to be safest. Keir is allowing these bigots to commit acts of terror in towns all across the UK this weekend, and so many of us now are not safe to walk in our own cities, because Starmer would rather go after LGBTQ people than actually work to keep anyone truly safe...
That story talking about Israel/Lebanon/Iran & Hamas really felt like Phil was saying "oh fuck, oh fuck oh fuck" for 10 minutes straight. As the story just progressively got worse and worse. I can't help but worry how terrifying it would be right now for anyone living in those countries. It seems now like all out war is inevitable now.
Let me put it this way for how fucked we are right now. Last week Prime Minister Benjamin Netenyahu was in Washington D.C. to address congress. If an assassination of him happened while in US care in the same way the Haniyeh was assassinated while in Iran's care: The US would immediately deploy all military assets to go after the perpetrating nation. So it seems clear why Iran would do the same thing.
I have that same sinking feeling, "Oh, fuck . . ." and I think this is the dire consequences of not removing Netenyahu and his goons from political power- they're attacking everything like a wounded (not defenseless) animal, having sharp claws & fangs, unable to see beyond their immediate rage (aka, seeing red). Don't forget, Israel killed many innocent people, World Kitchen charity workers, attacks on civilian infrastructures and killing new-borns, and many other War Crimes (I don't think that point is lost on you OP, you know it)... I'm positive, trying to remove Netenyahu as of right now may come down to force and it will be a furthered bloodied path.

At the warehouse I worked at I had a good number of Muslim friends. Work friends mind you, but we still talked a lot and got along great. After New York I didn't really change that nor was I scared of them, which took them back quite a bit. Some even asked me why I'm not staring at them or avoiding them like other people were. It's because I don't believe in condemning the whole based on the actions of the extreme few. Extreme being more of a behavioral thing than a quantity.

On the whole we're quite reasonable about restricting dangerous items to only those that need them. For example, if you need a rifle for a legitimate reason (farmers dealing with pests like wild boar for example) its fairly simple to get one here; you just have to go through multiple mental health checks and get frequently inspected (with no notice) to ensure you store it safely and don't misuse it. Hey presto! No mass shooting and school shootings! You can't trust general people to be sensible, so you have to ensure they are. The crazy thing to me is over the last 5 years we have about 50 knife-related deaths a year. The US? 1,960. Yet we have such high knife crime stats right?
I live in Sheffield, UK and a few months ago a young man was attacked by two other young men with machetes. The one being attacked had tried to pull a gun on the two machete weilders. Somehow that didn't make news past the local level, peoeple witness the gun being pulled. On the other hand, many Brits are very much "just carry on, it's fine" about a lot of issues.
Until you hear how many people die from knives. And they’re not your regular degular knives, in certain parts of the UK, machetes are the fave choice. Gun violence is obviously terrible but no one should downplay the horrible death by being hacked by a machete.
Most critical is just focusing on the people who's value might actually MATTER to themselves, thank you Charlie for at least trying to think for others and not just blurt bullshit like sneako.
KOSA is very dangerous. It’s going to destroy ALL online LGBT spaces, be it fandom or support groups. Decades of fanfiction, fanart, and cosplay, expression by artists, will be gone forever if it happens to touch topics writers or artists use to process emotions.
With regards to the knife crime in the UK, the biggest thing that helps is community policing, good public transport and generally good governing. You aren't going to stop those people that are already willing to use a knife, you've got to stop people from getting to that point. The reason we're seeing the spike is that the country has *not* been looked after, especially areas that are traditionally working class and/or ethnic minority. I lived in the roughest parts of London from birth to the age of 35. Where my mum lived from the age of 9 onward went from being not very well looked after by the government, not great policing and terrible transport options, especially at night. Over the years it got much better transport options, the police budget was increased, community policing came back, there were tons of nice public spaces, places for people to go do activities, increased care services, etc and the crime got better. Just the transport makes a difference. You used to have the option of basically the 75 bus at night, maybe the the N36 if you were lucky. One or two lines criss-crossed those, but you were looking at waiting around in the middle of the town, at night, for an hour for a bus sometimes and then had a long walk in the dark at the other end. Now there are tons of night busses, there's way more trains running later, the DLR, Tube, Uber is a thing. All the bus stations and train stations have been spruced up and made lighter, there's more local police stations, there's more lighting around, etc, etc. It just makes for a safer environment all round, and having good services makes less people feel like crime is either needed or even a good route to go.

And even if they were related; why would you hurt them or damage their property etc? It makes no sense. We don't even know if the guy was Muslim. This is just being used as a reason to be racist which is insane. It's 2024. How are we still dealing with this.
lots of non-muslims going around stabbing people are there? sure it may not be in one out of 10 cases, but the other 9? well. not to mention islam is a religion, not a race.
Left wing media has become so predictable to the point that when it is being intentionally ambiguous by calling the perpetrator "youths" it's just code for non-white person. The local natives are justly angered at their governments soft leaning laws in regards to migrant crimes. Little kids were stabbed to death, many still in critical conditions. If no action is taken many more violent incidents like this will undoubtedly happen again and again. You are either blind or grossly ignorant if you think there isn't a problem.
I too fear that KOSA will be used as a weapon, as a 14 year old, I feel this will just limit our abilities to do stuff and intake information and I don't think that is acceptable. While online bullying, predatory behavior and other issues are extremally important, it's the parents duty to judge what is right and what is wrong. Teens should be able to handle themselves online and if they can't, why are they on the internet? Let parents do their job, the government should have 0 right to decide what is ok for kids online.
The only job of a government is to ensure the safety and prosperity of its citizens, that includes what information is spread about minors online. Unfortunately many parents don't do their job of raising their children. It's also getting much harder for the average parent to monitor their childs online activities; unless they actively work in tech they won't understand or even have knowledge of the various parent control features smart phones, ipads, computers etc. have while children are immersed in it from a very young age and so have an accelerating understanding of its capabilities and how to get around safety locks and other features; the next logical target are the site creators. The scope of KOSA is certainly troubling but without laws there are very few avenues to hold anyone accountable for their failings when it comes to child safety online.
There are so many reasons for it (inclusing how hard it is to get by), but the bottom line is that most parents can't parent effectively. In my experience only 1 in 5 seem to have it figured out to a reasonable degree.
So who watches out for kids without parents? This opinion is very simplistic, but ur only 14, who prolly has good parents so it makes sense Glad you are taking an interest in these things tho
I appreciate your perception, but having experienced the 80s, parenting has been attacked on all fronts by social political and government groups. Yes political is different than government.
The problem isn't the stated goal of the legislation, it's the vagueness of it. Like there is no list of which topics are sensitive for children and should be handled differently, meaning companies are likely to take the cautious approach of either banning children from accessing the platform all together, or going overboard with censorship to make sure they don't accidentally make some mistake that leaves them liable for something. If they can craft some legislation with a specific list of topics that should be handled differently when children are involved, and make sure companies can't simply decide to censor everything or remove children from their platform in response to the legislation then I'd be all for it because if the goal is just to make sure there is legitimate medical information and information about support services people can access when they're searching certain topics like anorexia or bulimia I don't see a problem with that goal.
love when people get a taste of there own medicine, dude got nailed there times with bricks/rocks, all this over information that wasn't even true, no proof of the boy being Muslim just people being mad at others for different beliefs.
I was already a Charlie fan, but now even more so. He’s right. It’s no one’s decision but the people immediate to that person like child first and foremost, then the parents, therapists, and finally, the doctors. Most trans youth are only socially transitioning. Some take puberty blockers but that is not HRT. Hormone replacement can be hard to access as a teen and surgeries are pretty much unheard of. My friend who’s a trans man had to fight for access and was only about to get HRT at 19 before getting his breast tissue removed at 21. He started his process at 16 by socially transitioning. There’s no fast lane in this, it’s a lengthy process, but you can’t tell transphobes anything.
The only surgery they get is fertility preservation. They have sperm or eggs harvested between 11-16. Not sure why those ages but it’s a pretty short procedure in case they end up being sterile or having those parts removed in the future.
It just shows that the parents are weak willed. Children can claim to be firefighters and nurses too. Parents are supposed to prepare children for the harsh realities of the world. Whether it be teaching common sense, fuel passions and overall turn their child into a useful member of society. A human brain is not fully developed under the age of 25. I fully agree that a person should do what they want with their body, but I, among many others, aren't going to be lectured by folks who believe a child can be in charge of a huge decision such as transitioning. #leavethechildrenalone. It's incredibly inappropriate to force your beliefs upon moldable minds such as children.
So we're really at the point where there's a split decision on whether or not adults should be sexually involved with minors... Let that sink in for a moment. Side note: Charlie is completely in the right in this situation. He's simply stating that it is up to the parties involved (child, parents, and their medical professionals) to choose the right course of action. This isn't a matter that could, or should, be decided upon by outside parties such as a state or federal legislature. Sneakos points are anti-scientific, both with regards to what is appropriate for trans youth and (in the case of minors marrying adults) youth in general.
1. adults being anyone from age 18 and minors being anyone below 18, those two groups can be close enough that relations are quite legal. Age of consent being around 16 on average. 2. it is absolutly the state/federal governments business to pass legislation to protect people, including minors. 3. the child cannot make a decision, since they're mentally unfit to do so. the parents are often uninformed and reliant upon the doctor in question, who may or may not be unbiased. 4. what treatments are or are not available and at what age should be up to the scientific consensus.
@@nonyabisness6306 1. When people refer to making changes to age of consent it is not in reference to cases where a minor and non-minor are of very similar ages. Exemptions already exist for cases for couples who were both minors at the onset of the relationship or are close in age. The argument usually boils down to older men wanting to be able to have relations with and/or marry any given girl after she's had her first period, which is disgusting. Sneako himself has advocated for the age of consent to be lowered in exactly such a manner. 2. Government policy is too slow and open to bias to be effective at regulating medical practice, which is why medical regulatory bodies exist outside of your typical congressional/senate/parliamentary bodies. Elected officials typically know nothing of science or best practices and are best suited to deferring that responsibility to those that are experts, which is exactly what happens in practice. When politics gets in the way of medical science, people suffer. 3. True, the child cannot unilaterally consent to treatment, but their voice is most vital to the decision making process. Ultimately, it's a joint decision by the child, parents or guardian, and their medical professional. Only when all three understand the treatment and are in agreement will said treatment move forward. 4. Scientific consensus in regards to gender affirming care is fairly clear that gender confirming care greatly reduces the health and well-being of patients suffering from gender dysphoria. There is also growing evidence that gender affirming care that starts prior to the onset of puberty is the most efficacious, with the least likelihood of detransition and the highest level of satisfaction for patients. That said treatment can vary greatly from patient to patient, and should never be seen as a "one-size-fits-all" kind of situation, as every person is unique. The notion that everyone who receives gender affirming care is getting put on hormones immediately and signing up for top and bottom surgery ASAP is ridiculous and not reflective of reality.
I thought the EDL disbanded a while back but apparently not. That is false reporting though, reporters were incorrectly labeling protesters as "EDL" to try to delegitimize them when it wasn't an EDL gathering. The police arrived in riot gear and immediately started kettling. All the pro-terrorist and Chicken for KFC protests were left alone by the police. Two tier policing at its finest. Also legitimately criticizing Islam is *not* Islamophobic. Christianity gets unfairly criticized and made fun of all the time but is that called out as being "Christophobic"? No. Double standards.
Recently Ive been seeing a lot of transphobic comments denouncing Moistcritical for being a trans ally. I agree that he didn't explain his ideas very well and he isn't always the best debater. But I most certainly think his heart was in the right place. It is the scientific consensus that gender transition improves the lives of transgender people. I support the WPATH guidelines for transgender care. What medical care people need should be determined by medical professionals, not politicians. As a member of the LGBTQ community who has a transgender brother, it saddens me that so many people are falling for conservative talking points. Conservatives need another wedge issue to get more votes so they fear monger and spread misinformation about the trans community. Can't people see that most of these politicians don't sincerely care about this topic, they just say a bunch of non-sense to garner votes. I am worried about the future of America. I am lucky to live in a blue state that is currently relatively safe from some of the worst anti-LGBTQ laws. My heart goes out to all the LGBTQ people living in red states. I worry about conservatives taking power and making their bigotry public policy nation wide.
I think that EDL thing kind of sums the movement up: Quick to anger, slow to verify what they're told is actually true. Trying to solve violence with more violence. Ultimately destructive and harmful.
The stabbing was the trigger but the huge wave in stabbings from non locals is why people are protesting, look at Southend and Devon, the stabbing of a solider in London yesterday etc. they are fed up, it’s not just Southport. Most are just locals, many previously had nothing to do with the EDL

You usually need to have been on hormones for at least a year as well.

Yea
As soon as something like this happens, people tend to think like this;
- How did this happen
- Who did this
Then when the police say something like _It's not terrorism related_ , immediately it clicks in people's heads, no matter if you're left, right, center, up, down, " _Oh, it was one of _*_THEM_*_ again.._ " because the news over decades have been very careful not to mention certain descriptors when it comes to non-white people, which leads people to automatically know that one crucial thing.
I have seen people over here say stuff like "libtards from the MLM spreading lies, EDL isn't even around anymore."

The real problem with polling is we live in a time where people have enough awareness to hide who they are voting for but not enough shame or decency to vote for someone else. So they pay lip-service to the socially acceptable answer then do the opposite behind that curtain.
I don’t understand polls. I’ve never been asked nor do I know anyone who has been asked to participate in a poll. Is there anyone out there?
@@CMTZ11 I have, but I'm not from the US. Basically I got a call from them around a week after I started getting spammed by robo callers. Now I get questions by email every week or so. It just happens.
@@CMTZ11 The last time I was polled for a POTUS race was 2004. It was also the last POTUS race in which I still had a land line. My parents got called for one during the Obama-Romney race, also to their land line. So I suspect that might be a clue into the methodology. But same - none of my friends have participated in a poll, at least not recently.
FWIW, my cell silences all calls from anyone not in my contacts. If it's someone else who legit needs to talk to me, they'll leave a message or shoot me a text, and I'll get back to them. Thus, it's absolutely possible that I've been contact for a poll but just didn't pick up, or even know to pick up.
@@CMTZ11 I worked for a call center during the 2016 election cycle, and we did quite a bit of polling. The quality of the poll really depends on who pays for the information, though. Actual research firms incorporate a mixture of electronic, phone, mail, and in person polling, and usually have longer and more neutral questionnaires. These tend to be quality polls, but are time consuming (can take 20+ minutes to complete) and it can be tricky to find enough participants willing to fill them out to completion (unfinished documents must be discarded).
Newspapers and stations are similar, but often use leading questions or are fishing for how people feel about current issues. They vary in subtly, depending on the source, but tend to incorporate some bias.
Lobby groups order polls even outside of election cycles. Needless to say, these are usually riddled with leading questions and long passages describing the benefits of their position.
@@CMTZ11 UA-cam is not happy with my reply, so I'm going to try splitting this into parts. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Being from near Southport the tragedy really hits home. And it angers me that it has been used as an excuse to commit hate crimes. While disinformation is certainly to blame, Englands racism problem can’t be ignored! It’s been a major problem for years now and has caused life changing political actions like leaving the EU. Being from a town with a large Muslim population I’ve seen this attitude my entire life. More needs to be done in schools to teach children inclusivity and the effects of hate crimes. I was lucky to have a primary school teacher who taught us about different cultures and why they’re just as valuable as ours, I’ve taken that message with me throughout life.
To be fair, no one expects any kind of reasonable take from sneako. He's understood to be a scummy grifter.

There are a lot of people here who are heartbroken and just in disbelief since before this Southport was very much a typical small coastal English town no-one had ever heard of where a lot of the locals know each other through two or three degrees of separation and honestly not much of note happens.Naturally this means that there is a general sense of grief and anger in the town with a lot of people looking for answers leading to rumours running wild.
As an Iranian, I am so tired of being under the threat of war EVERY SINGLE YEAR. We can't catch a break, man.

As an American, hearing UK citizens advocating to do something about 'knife violence' sounds like a breath of fresh air compared to guns
@jordyboy62 it's not the right narrative for mainstream news. Especially if they have any melanin in their skin
You’ve never heard US CITIZENS advocating to do something about guns?
Until you hear how many people die from knives. And they’re not your regular degular knives, in certain parts of the UK, machetes are the fave choice. Gun violence is obviously terrible but no one should downplay the horrible death by being hacked by a machete.
Most critical is just focusing on the people who's value might actually MATTER to themselves, thank you Charlie for at least trying to think for others and not just blurt bullshit like sneako.

This opinion is very simplistic, but ur only 14, who prolly has good parents so it makes sense
Glad you are taking an interest in these things tho

A friend of mine on Facebook said earlier that we have had a decade's worth of news in the last 2 weeks
It's incredibly inappropriate to force your beliefs upon moldable minds such as children.
puberty blockers are irreversible... just saying
