Next time (for the video)-- just take a few minutes and cut open the old one with a cutting wheel, and you will typically find that the little plastic gears are broken on the inside. There's an electric motor with a small gear (sometimes it's a worm gear)-- and then there's a long sweeping gear that connects to the butterfly shaft-- and that will typically break off a tooth or crack in a few places, because of it having to overcome the sticky gunk in the throttle body. The cheaper brands tend to break for no apparent reason, just from heat cycles on the cheap plastic. For the OEM's, it usually takes a really gunked up butterfly getting stuck, or even getting frozen or iced over, etc.. Cutting them open would make for great 'bonus content. You can usually learn a lot just by taking a peak inside; there's nearly always something very obvious inside.
Hello! I have a 2013 Chrysler 200 that currently has the throttle light on the dash. I just finished replacing the ETB and ran it for any codes but it still won’t start. I also checked for a weak battery and no sign of anything. Any help or suggestions are appreciated!
Need help because somebody put different connector for throttle body and buy but the connector is same like you show video but I'm not how conect wires
Oh please help me!!! I am replacing my throttle body tomorrow 2/5/23…. I got the new part in the mail. (I didn’t go to local store) when I tip the ETB with the gears down. There’s a noise like a pin dropping against the plate. Is this normal with the throttle body? Also, is there a manual relearn procedure for us who don’t have a scanner like yours? I looked into my obd2 and it doesn’t offer the relearn for ETB.. please help. I’m also thinking, if I disconnect the negative cable, does that bypass the relearn procedures? Thanks in advance!
I’ve added a video to show you. Here’s the link. Again, thank you for any information you can provide. I’ve never done a job like this before….. ua-cam.com/users/shortsPHje1_JKgl4?feature=share
You were so much help. I’m a single mom and I always go to UA-cam to learn how to fix my car. Your video was the best I’ve seen yet.
Glad I could help!
So did you do a relearn on yourself

This video helped me for my car so much. 😊
Glad it helped!
Thank you sir! I was worried about paying over $500 when I can just do it myself! SUBCRIBE!
Thanks for the sub!
Super easy explanation. Thank you. Going to replace mine myself.
I'm going to get me some drills and work on things my self. Ty and I may replace my throttle
You do not need drills. Just a socket set will be enough to fix most anything on a car.
Good job buddy you really are a good mechanic 🧰
Thanks, I try!

It will usually relearn on it's own as you drive it a few times.
Sorry for the late response. Did you get it sorted out?
