Tip: Area lights can simulate the gridded softbox. Just lower the Beam Shape angle from 180°. Easier to adjust and much less noisy than a gridded mesh light. :)
hey wenbo, ney tip I discovered. you can make something like a diffusion roll with a plane in front of the light than adding a principled bsdf, setting trasmission to one and the ior to less than one. 0.5 is fine. than tweak it with the transmission roughness. works really well
How is using the texture different from adjusting the falloff using the Scale function of the Mapping node? Thank you for your tutorials. My renders are more realistic thanks to them.
One of the great things of lighting in 3D is to being able to do light linking with addons like K-Cycles, when you can make one light just illuminate one model/part of the model. How can you achieve the same effect using shapes with textures/gradients? To make one softbox let's say to illuminate just one button of a smarthphone just to add a very specific highlitght or gradation to a model? Thanks
Watching your channel videos one by one. It's like a book. Thanks for such structurized and useful information! Keep it on!
🥰🥰🥰thanks

good tip thanks for sharing
Excellent Wenbo! Thanks for sharing your valuable knowledge.
You’re welcome ☺️
Thank you. This is amazing. You channel is hidden gem.
Thank you 😊 you made my day🥰

nice tip mate🥰
Man we need more of this!
Thanks 🙏 I have a few lights tutorial made, check them out on my UA-cam channel 🥰
Brilliant tut as always. The details make the difference Wenbo. Good work, please keep it up
Thanks for your support Tom! Glad to hear your feedback
Really appreciated and thanks for sharing!!!
Great video as always! One minor correction though: An octabox still is a softbox, although it has a special shape.
great tutorial it is helpful specifically for me as a photographer and I want to start CGI,,, thanks million
Photographer is a big plus when learning cgi, cause we understand lighting😎

Not too much but just easier to setup in nodes

What is the software and what is the lighting setup?
I dont get this my renders are still completely black with no light even thought I 've used the gradient radial
