The ease of set up and the wide range of infinite objects I can study light on is indispensable I've found. Remembering to constrain my limitations in the 3D space to mimic real world applications for practical use is hard sometimes but as far as the study of light and form goes, it's a great way to supplement and enhance real world practice. It's especially helpful in quarantine. But that's also why I love landscape photography. I know my light based on time of year and location, but in the end it's whatever the clouds give you. So when I was trying to view the AO, or anything for that matter, in compositing my picture was just a clear square with an X in the middle. Everything is connected correctly, and it looks just like his. Any ideas for why this may be?
Anyone else have a much less reflective look than the Guru's? even if I take the gloss map out and use 0 roughness it doesn't quite have the same glossy look as his does. Anyone got any ideas?
I have the exact same problem. I'm using the free texture, but the difference shouldn't be this big....and no matter what parameter I change I can't make the material more reflective.
@@mrlightwriter yeah im not sure what he did behind the scenes I'm convinced he used his Guru magic, and the masses shall never know how to replicate it.
I realise this is very very late, but for anyone else struggling in the future, try reducing the "factor" of the invert node for the gloss texture to around 0.2
I'm not sure that you explained how to get rid of those doted lines (relationship lines) in the last tutorial. For those who don't know, go to overlays on the top of your screen and then under objects uncheck the box for relationship lines. That should fix it. If you can't find overlays, just search it up on the web.

Hey Teny, Alot of graphics cards are supported by blender. Go you your Preferences > System and if you see it enable Cuda. That's all you do, give it a try. My card is a 1080ti works for me ;). I hope that helps.
@@windybut8266 thank you but im already rendering on my GPU, i just have an older setup
SEIZE THE MEANS OF RENDERING lol
@@windybut8266 My Nvidia Geforce 610M isn't there. Weird........
Hey man, thank you for the tutorial!! I watched the videos to learn how to make a chair and I've made a chair to my final paper degree in product design. Now I will build a real life model based on the 3d model.
So when I was trying to view the AO, or anything for that matter, in compositing my picture was just a clear square with an X in the middle. Everything is connected correctly, and it looks just like his. Any ideas for why this may be?
Try to re render after you add all the Passes. ;) It worked for me.
That was the problem for me! Thank you!
omg - how deep you go in to explaining some things but its still not boring at all. 🥰
@@linerk5925 I've exactly the same problem but the solution you suggested did not work for me. Any idea?
Bonjour, vos tutos sont vraiment excellent. Vos explications sont très précises , j'ai énormément appris depuis que je vous suis . Merci à vous .
I'm not sure that you explained how to get rid of those doted lines (relationship lines) in the last tutorial. For those who don't know, go to overlays on the top of your screen and then under objects uncheck the box for relationship lines. That should fix it. If you can't find overlays, just search it up on the web.
Thanks champ!
Bro. I came here to learn one specific thing and I ended up learning 10 super useful things that I wasn't even expecting to learn from a video like this.
"oh yeah then give it another render" me, who took 10 minutes on the last one with my old-ass computer: "WHAT?"
Thanks for the tutorial series Andrew! The Guru has done it again 🙏
I've been accidentley using Eevee for the whole tutorial, no wonder I had to spend like double the time to make it look alright lmao
you too? hahaha...
YOU ARE THE BEST!!!! Thanks for another amazing tutorial
How the hell do you get a square camera?
Thank you, i was following the entire tutorial, sometimes i make mistakes so i need to read the comment section etc
but it was fun at all
High five to everyone who completed this tutorial!
Sir please make a tutorial series on nodes including:-
1. Brief information about every node.
2. Most commonly used nodes.
3. Example of each.
Also looking cool in new hair style 👍🏻👍🏻
Sing with me:
It's still there that renders
the fifth frame out of two hundred.
I can't use the computer.
I have to help my mother.
It's still there that renders
the fifth frame out of two hundred.
And at night I can't sleep.
There's more light here than on a spaceship.
It's still there that renders
the fifth frame out of two hundred. . .
😂😂😂
You can render a bunch of frames at a time if you save them as PNG, and then merge all your frames together on the video editor. Hope that helps you the next time 😂
@@danieln1813 this is awesome
thanks
I spent my entire Saturday making this chair, and it was totally worth it.

Blender Guru: why does your specular highlight looks so much brighter than mine. My settings are exactly the same as yours but you have a beautiful bright highlight on the back of the chair?
Same here, no matter what I do it looks dull with very little reflection
