I said it before and I am going to say this once again that blender community have so many UA-camrs who make brilliant tutorials but you and Derek Elliott are so fun to watch & you both provide so much information which usually people skip. Such high quality tutorials definitely help people like us. :)
I love how this channel is the exact opposite of Default Cube. Calm and slow vs fast and pure chaos. Both have their place, and that just shows how big of a community we have!
@@elliotmarks06 Default cube is a sarcasm genius I must say. 😂His content has his own league.
@@xDaShaanx most certainly
Totally agree. They both are great teachers. Guess it’s their genuine interest to share knowledge and not about getting clicks in exchange for donuts.
The whole Blender community is amazing; I've even found a few obscure UA-camrs that has changed my craft for the better!
The animated intro u made is just perfect
You can't imagine how helpful this was. The mindset with this inside, outside trick, to reveal each part of an object, litteraly one of the best content about creativity i've seen so far.
Absolutely beautiful. Can't wait for the rest of the series!
Great breakdown! I usually use at least 3 lights but the one you show is always what I start with and by far the most exciting! Looking forward to seeing the next videos in the series.
Thanks Derek!! Glad to hear you use it too, that means it's worth doing :D Yes, excited about this series myself!!
Derek is good ! 😎
You got me hooked right from the title sequence, as always your passion and empathy towards sharing what could be the best kept secrets is commendable, heartfelt gratitude :)
Thank you so much!!
Now please, tell me something you don't know? Your tutorials are amazing and explained to the highest degree without anything that could or should be missing. You are a teacher that is beyond reproach to the utmost level. I was a founding member of a graphics software company called Corel, director of Product Development, you my friend, I would have hired in a drop of the bucket. Your knowledge of Blender is outstanding and second to none. Every time I crack open the tutorials on Blender and I see that you have posted a fresh one, I watch in amazement at how well you've learned the infinite details of this product with masterful understanding. You have become the professor on Blender. I and others thank you so much...
Thank you very much for the kind words, Gary. Did you work on CorelDRAW by any chance? As a child I used to play around with making text follow curves in that program. And now I'm still playing around with stuff on the computer, but this time with generous people like you leaving inspiring comments on my work. Thanks for watching my videos!
I also used corelDraw...for my HighSchool newspaper! We won awards for our graphics 🙌
@@Polyfjord Yes I worked on CorelDRAW. We really took inspiration from Adobe and backwards engineered it to work on the PC. We even took the majority of the fonts and scanned them, we then hired students to trace each font naming them as different ones but if you were to zoom in on the fonts that Adobe and or the PS (Post Script) fonts you would find a massive difference in the quality compared to the our fonts and the originals, we were not in the same league. I know the in's and out's of the product so well that when we had the first CorelDRAW prize, we found tthere was a beautiful piece of graphics but it took nearly two minute to load, once I got the file and tweaked it, it took less than five seconds to bring up on the screen, this was on the old 386 computers. Could I tell you stories about the company (chuckles). Thanks for your words and the question, please continue to excite the crowds...
your intros are god-tier
Polyfjord and Derek Elliott, best of the best.
Derek Elliott is the best thing to have happened to the Blender community since the invention of computers
New Polyfjord makes for a perfect night
Thanks for the video! I love experimenting with lighting tend to do everything based on whether it feels good to look at.
I never really thought about why I prefer area lights over point lights but the discussion about shadowing helped to clear that up. They are so versatile. 💡
Now you've got me wanting to play with lights, but I'm way behind schedule for other projects. Such a bad influence. 😉😂
I’ve barely finished my other projects! Stop coming out with this incredible content you madman!
the intro alone tells you are at the right place and He's a clear artist
I am just as excited for the new series. Keep u the good work Polyfjord.
Your style of researching, doing art and teaching it is very refreshing!
Your energy and excitement is contagious! and I highly appreciate that you acknowledge how the final results shown on intros are different from the tutorials, and you helping us learn how to get closer to that level of quality! you are the best kind of teacher! I will make sure I introduce this channel to everyone I know who work with Blender. Thank you.

I have just started in Blender 2 days ago and following your Tutorials has made getting used to everything SO easy. Your button annotations are so helpful when you are entering many shortcuts at once, and the way you explain complex topics is so easy to follow.

I'm really really really hyped for this series, light is so important in 3d and yet there are so few vidéos about it. Big thanks!! Great vidéo as always too!
The all around quality on this channel (the learning content, the actual artwork, the takeaway motivation) is just second to none. It's no accident that your DocOc tutorial is the highest viewed blender tutorial in history.
I am so happy you started this series, your work is really awesome! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I get so much inspiration from your videos.
The lights going through the glass letters in the intro are insane, HOW!

Just found your channel today, and I already learned so much!! I’m rendering now a animation that I followed from your previous videos (the little spider looking thing), and watched a couple other videos of yours, and I think you deserve at least 1 million subscribers, you go straight to the point, you edit your videos very well, and it’s very high quality tutorials for free!! Much thanks 🙏!!
I love your personality! This was a joy to watch
your tutorials are the most exciting thing one youtube :) keep up the great work!

YEESSS WE NEED MORE OF THISSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE YOUR WORK!!
IT WAS SOOOO FUN WATCHING THIS VIDEO!!!! didnt even feel like a tutorial, i was smiling and enjoying so much ahaaaa
You're killing it!!!!
The "gap" part is one of the mysterious components that make your videos work really well I think. When the intro to a video is that good and polished you're pulled in no matter what. Keep up the good work :)
wow, this is exactly what I've been missing and I'm super excited for the next part
I cant describe how i love ur videos its too relaxing and it give me alot of hints and trickss thanks too much
That intro was mind blowing
Amazing stuff man thanks so much for the super tutorials. They are so efficient you are a wizard.
Eagerly waiting for the rest of series!!
Can we just stop and appreciate the MIND BLOWING intro sequence 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
This is exactly what I needed for my renders! I used to spend hours texturing and modeling, for it to just become unnoticable in the final render. I didn't know what was wrong, and continued to use muddy, flat lighting for almost a year! This tutorial really helped me see what is wrong with my lighting. Thank you so much!
Excellent video as always!!!
Best intro i have seen in a while👌
Apart from your sheer talent, the thing that keeps me stuck to your channel is your enthusiasm for the things you talk about! Great video as always, thank you so much! :D
Man this is gooood!!! Masterclass!
Great video! Gonna follow this series so can't wait!
I love your videos, I'm a huge huge fan of everything you do, I love your long video tuts, Love the cinematics, the editing JUST EVERYTHING!!!!!!

Love Your Works!
Great video! And also really great tutorial series intro!
Thanks for sharing, just stumbled across you the other day but love the nice calm clearly explained topics.
Thank you for making videos on this topic!
I will say this inplace of everyone... it doesn't matter what you are going to show in the video when compared to the things like your into or in-between transitions that you create... Those are truly mind-blowing and creative as hell. Upon all of that then I can say that we are blessed with the info in the video. These are both eye-calming and soul cooling tutorials for sure.
This is is amazing can't wait to use this
BY FAR the most charismatic blender streamer.Great subjects amazing rythm in my opinion.Keep up!
HOLY CRAP THAT INTRO UR NUTS MY DUDE
these videos are the only reason im actually trying out blender
this is the kind of tutorial which we are where looking for thank you very much and looking forward for the next
am excited too ! waiting for the next series
Thank you so much for this fundamental lesson in lighting. This is such an important concept for beginners to grasp and you've demonstrated it so clearly.
And not only did you teach how to think about placing lights as sculpting the shadows, but you also taught a great technique for working in Blender while placing lights. Having a fixed render view looking through the scene camera while adjusting the placement of the lights in a different view helps so much when it comes to visualizing what you're actually doing with the relationships between the lights and objects in your scene.
