I feel like Horus Heresy managed to fix this a fair bit. I really got into 8th. I especially enjoyed the beginning of it, but by the end the stratagems and supplements started to annoy me. Was third your first edition?
I’ve only played 8th edition, and without the context of playing the other I kind of find it annoying, a lot of supposedly different rules feel very much the same (nearly every single deepstrike is a carbon copy) and it has the sort of new & simplified feel of D&D 5e which while both coming off the heels of overly convoluted 7th and 4e respectively I still dislike (3.5 all the way) so I’ve really wanted to try some of the older editions to see what they have to offer (my first intro to 40k was actually the 5th edition book)
thanks for your input my man! i really need to revisit this video and update for 9th. sadly i think 8th became "the suplement" edition and the same with 9th already so its not going to be high up the list! 5th..... 5th is where its at!
@@SnakeWorksStudio understandable
There is a community made codex of Hórus heresy for 8th Edition, give it a try.
I shall have to have a look!
Sorry don't like any of the recent rules they keep re writing rules to make money .3rd edition was not perfect but so much more fun than modern ones . Last year i tried a game and was glad i sold all my armies . From 6th up they are just rules and not much fun . If I wanted to keep studying rules I would have become a Lawyer
That’s fair enough! So you would vote for third edition?
Great stuff. 😊
Thank you!
7th was best 8th n on is hot garbage
What about 9th?
@@SnakeWorksStudio 9th is hot trash with more rule bloat. Just stick to 7th trust me
