My seven year old SoundLink Mini stopped working today.

Went inside and disconnect everything I could find and reconnected.

My device powers up but no sound. I just changed the battery which didn’t solve the problem. Should I disconnect and reconnect some more wires within the body shell?

I have the same Soundlink mini in mint condition but the batteries requires to be replaced. The point is that Bose service centre charges a premium while the after market varieties offered by different online sellers are equally expensive and can't be trusted for its compatibility, though
The point is that the Soundlink Mini's batteries actually consists of just two 18650 lithium cells integrated with a BMS (battery management system) pcb and sealed inside a plastic housing thereby, making it impossible to open it and replace the same. These 18650 batteries are very common and costs less than one USD since it is used in multiple electronic devices. Bose should have made it simple and straight forward by allowing to replace the 18650 lithium batteries and not make it in such a way that burns a hole in our wallet.
When I had got the Soundlink Mini, after few months had written an indepth review in my blog which enticed few of my colleagues and a couple of relations to buy the same. Today all of their sets too have become silent due to the battery issue. How I regret writing such a positive article. Bose sucks!

RG! Thank you for you video. I love the Mini and after years of perfect operation it crapped-out last week on our Florida vacation. Followed your advise and ordered battery with special star driver for screw removal and for less than $30 and 10 minutes I have my Bose Mini back. Take care. Charles.

I have an 8 year old Soundlink Mini and it's dead...just flashes the red charging LED and won't even play while hooked up to the charger, This one has the battery hard-wired to a daughter-board that is then plugged into the main board, and the whole speaker cabinet has to be completely taken to pieces in order to get the daughter-board unplugged and change the battery. The new replacement battery comes with a new daughter-board too.
The video omits the crux of the requirement. No connection part covered.

Mine is the model 061386 it is the same thing? Coz mine also seems like that only the number of the model battery diferrent one number in the end, mine is six yours is four.

I appreciate your efforts in fixing the Bose Soundlink mini (1st generation) Bluetooth speaker. However, I am deeply disappointed by the design of the circuitry housing, which I find to be inadequate and hindering repair. I purchased my Soundlink mini 1st generation for INR 16,800, along with an additional INR 3,800 for the pouch. I cherished this device, even writing an independent review after four months of use. Unfortunately, it now appears that the battery has failed, indicated by a blinking red light when I attempt to charge it. Bose no longer services this model, and the necessary battery is unavailable or prohibitively expensive from online sources. This experience has soured my opinion of Bose and other tech companies that produce such poorly constructed devices. I believe it is time for consumers worldwide to voice their concerns and consider boycotting Bose products. An independent agency should conduct a thorough audit of such practices. It is regrettable that a company of Bose's reputation has failed to meet my expectations.

Does anyone know how to replace the battery on the previous (original) version that has 2 pads for feet and does NOT have that cover with screws under it?

You need a T8 Torx screwdriver. 2 minute job.
Buy one with a large handle. I’ve just attempted with a tiny cheap T8 screwdriver and I can’t get a grip on the small handle. Pay a fraction more for something which actually works. The screws are very tight from what I can tell.

You can test the charger either plugging into any other device or using a volt meter.

No, this battery is shaped differently and won't fit properly. You can, though, order a battery for the Mini 2 and the installation method is the same.
The replacement process for the SoundLink Mini 2 is actually quite a bit different. I made a video on my channel demonstrating how to do it!

STOP!!! You don't need to replace the battery to repair the bose soundlink mini!!! Just plug in to the side directly a charger with 12V 1Amp and IT WILL start to charge!!!! If not take the battery out and reinsert it and try again!!! IT WORKS!!! I just save you $30 replacement battery and time. Your welcome.
