any updates on how this battery is lasting for anyone whom replaced? I read on amazon it only holds a 4 hr charge. Trying to decide if I should bother spending $50 CND to replace, or put that $ towards a new speaker. Thanx all :)
Hi Benedict, sorry to hear that you're still having problems. These Soundlinks (The Version 1 in particular) seem to have many problems. If you've tried resetting, a new battery etc. then it is likely that your firmware is corrupt. Sadly, I think the only way this can be rectified currently is by sending it back to Bose (very costly, I imagine). Hope you can get it fixed somehow! Good luck 👍

having same issue right now, but I've been using my speaker for almost 9yrs I believe and this is the issue ongoing to my speaker, I'm not really sure where to buy battery
Hi Jean. I believe you can still pick up the batteries from eBay/Amazon. I have heard that it doesn't always fix the problem though. Hope you can get yours working again. 👍
@@StezStixFix Ohh thank youu, I hope It works on me
Where can we buy the new batteries for this Bose sound link mini ?
I got one from Amazon: amzn.to/3qFj7AU
Where did you get the battery
No charging light would come on when plugging in a 12v into the side. I held the mute button down for 10sec and now the charging light is flashing orange so I think it is charging now. Thanks.
Update rapid amber flashing denotes a faulty battery replacement with after market all working after reset mute button press for 10 seconds until 3 lights flash.💎
Awesome, thanks for the info! This should help others out 👍
Thanks for helpful clear info vid ..👏✌️
Ja, wenn die Batterie sich einfach wechseln läßt, alles klar jedoch bei einer Kabelfestverbindung zur Batterie ist es ein Problem oder?
were did you get the right battery
Hi, I have swapped a battery from working Bose Mini, it still flashing red ? any suggestion ?
Bose is not fixing it due to out of warranty
Thank you for sharing dude.
youve got different battery connection mine is not removable it has connected soldered the wire permanently to the pcb board and cannot take it off easily not like yours can take off the whole battery not sure what different model if its soindlink one or 2 or more older.
My Bose soundlink mini is having same problem with different indication. By the by, It was out off operation for 6 months as I was out of my state on official duty. The indications as follow:-
1) Battery is not getting charged
2) When charger is switched on, the red indicator lights just for 15/20 seconds and goes of. Everytime it is happening whenever charger is connected.
KINDLY ADVICE EARLIEST TO GET RD OFF THIS TROUBLE & GET BACK MY FAVOURITE SPEAKER IN WORKING CONDITION EARLIEST 🙏🏽
Hi!
I've the same issue. I've puchase spare battery, but when I did the replace, the new one show me all the lights turned on, but the BOSE doesnt work. ¿Do I hace another problem?
Thanks in advance
Hi Marcelo. Not sure about that one. Could be worth trying to reset it, with the new battery in it. 👍
@@StezStixFix this happened to me as well. bought new battery replacement. then installed it. ALL THE LIGHTS turn on and stay solid. Then tried the mute reset and then only the mute and AUX lights start flashing. when I release my finger from the mute button, ALL LIGHTS GO back to staying on. Then when I plug in the AC adapter, its back to that stupid annoying flashing red light.
@@StezStixFix you can find similiar issues on the amazon product reviews for replacement battery.
Hi. Check this out. the problem: red blinking light or 4 white leds stays on, is because the device is not detecting the battery. Fix: connect the charger. if no lights are shown, change the charger 12v 1amp. Use any generic one like from a router or so. If red light blinking or 4 white leds stays on again with the generic charger, take out the original battery (4screws), wait 2 minutes and put the battery back in. try to charge it. If red light blinking or 4 white leds stays on again, your battery is dead. Nothing to do. its just e-waste battery. Put the battery in to the trash. At this point, for fixing it: bose mini1 has 2 different battery types, serial 061xxx and serial 063xxx. both are not interchangeable. If you have 061 you are lucky, just buy any generic chinese battery and it will work. If you have 063 then you are out of luck, because this model has internal chip locked by bose and will not work the chinese 061 replacement. be careful because the chinese ppl will tell you that they are compatible when is not true. (i bought 8 of this chinese batteries and can tell you by experience). The only way to fix a 063 model is to buy an original one. Bose charges $50 for replacement and service US only. Is the only way. If you are outside US, sorry bose does not offer the service. Hope this helps.!
Where u buy battery I have same problem I went to bose service centre he told this old series
I got one from Amazon: amzn.to/3qFj7AU
hello I have the same error with red light in bose soundlink mini I THE SOLOTION IS TO CHANGE THE BATTERY
Hi, what is then the correct way to solve it?, I already changed the battery but it still not work
If everything else hasn't worked, then you might have to contact Bose and book in a repair 🙄
Where did you get your replacement battery?
Mine was out of another soundlink mini (a working one), but you can pick them up from eBay or Amazon easily enough 👍
Do you have a link for the replacement battery
Hi Todd, the one i used was an original I managed to picked up second hand off ebay, but you can also pick up aftermarket ones off eBay or Amazon. Like this one: amzn.to/3zP3xWL I imagine most of the aftermarket ones are very similar. 👍
Thank you this helped but I didn’t have to changed batteries I had to reset it two times then my Bose speaker started charging and working again
Excellent! Glad you got it working! 👍
Thanks
Yes! Therapy
do you have the link for the battery replacement store online?
My bose soundlink all lights are turn on
And my battery is brandnew
What will i do ?
Thanks a well done video.
Thanks Doug! 😊
Thanks for the video! Is your replacement battery running well? Just trying to get an idea if worth it to try battery replacement since speaker was pretty expensive to buy and bose don't provide software update for this speaker.
Hi N b. Yeah, I've been using it fairly regularly and it's still working nicely! You have to weigh up the options though, it may be better for you to grab a V2 that does have firmware updates. Good luck 👍
1st class video to watch thank you take care kind regards from me kenneth
Just to let you know, to do a hard reset on the soundlink mini 1 just hold down the mute button 10 seconds and the lights will flash. You should be good to go
On my Soundlink Mini 2 the battery is hardwired to the circuit board so it is not end-user replaceable.
Thank you!
any updates on how this battery is lasting for anyone whom replaced? I read on amazon it only holds a 4 hr charge. Trying to decide if I should bother spending $50 CND to replace, or put that $ towards a new speaker. Thanx all :)
Hey would you mind sharing the link for where you got yours I’m trying to replace mine but not too sure where to get one from(lots of shady places)
I have a problem with mine, the red light is steady and it’s not coming on or charging and I’ve tried everything yet it’s not working
Good luck 👍
No more bose for me!! Go hellbose
Go to Google and type in Bose Updater. Click on first link, install the Bose Updater app. Start it up, plug your speaker in the pc. Bose will verify your Bose speaker, It will update your firmware of the speaker. ;)
@@Samboken I think this works for the mini 2 but does this work for the mini 1 also? How is the mini 1 connected to the pc; I don't think it uses a usb connector?
If the red light si steady, it means the speaker is not having any charge wich means you probably have a broken AC Adapter. Use another AC generic adapter (from a router or similar) but with the same voltage 12v 1Amp. This will solve your problem.
I have flashing white lights on 3 buttons ??? Help
Hi Eileen, have you tried resetting it?
same have you fixed it?

Does anyone know how to replace the battery on the original SoundLink Mini. The one that has 2 pads for feet and does NOT have the removable panel with screws underneath?
What about a yellow batter light?
I have one sound link mini 1 same like that, but canot to Kinection from Bose mini to laptop
Thank you sir
Thank you
where i can buy a new battery? :0 Thanks u so much
You can pick them up off Amazon or eBay, or maybe a local parts store. If it's a Version 1, you're looking for something like this: www.laptopartstore.co.uk/bose-c-32_41/genuine-17wh-bose-soundlink-mini-speaker-mini-1-series-061385-battery-p-57.html?zenid=anj48qhsd00v19j5hu2enrg4t3
Amazon
What’s the input voltage from the charger
How to fix if the red light is steady everytime i connect the charger..?
Hard to say for sure, as people seem to have different problems with these. But that could just need resetting, or you could try plugging it in, holding the multi button for 10 seconds, unplugging it and then releasing the multi button... or it could be the battery is dead and needs replacing. Hope you can get it fixed! 👍
It didn’t solve my issue and it’s your fault. Lol jk.
That’s a crazy battery! Cool how easy it is to fix.
How much the batteries in the Philippines
Hi Arnel, I'm not sure. Maybe you can buy from Amazon.com in US? They are around $40 USD. Hopefully someone else from The Philippines will see the message and reply to let you know 👍
Hello bro my boss soundlink mini experience thesame problem as yours. just wanted to know if you have purchase a battery already here in PH
Am Just Update Software, it Work Normally Do Not Change Battery 🔋.
I gonna change the battery
I got mine to charge again by just resetting with the mute button right now watching your video. I had tried the mute button all afternoon but it only worked while watching your video. . .
Excellent! Glad it's working 👍
@@StezStixFix It just reached green a minute ago. Phew! Thanks again!
how about red light is on but didnot flashing
Can't you fix a nail clipper?
Nize one!
Thanks Wolli!
how can I access a new battery? I am in Uganda, Africa
I have a flashing red light but no Bose Mini...this was no help at all.
Guess there is a pair of 18650 lithium cells in that proprietary Bose unit.
STOP!!! You don't need to replace the battery to repair the bose soundlink mini!!! Just plug in to the side directly a charger with 12V 1Amp and IT WILL start to charge!!!! If not take the battery out and reinsert it and try again!!! IT WORKS!!! I just save you $30 replacement battery and time. Your welcome.
You are star! It worked! Wondering if I can use 12v adapter all the time?
@@arunask3689 Sure you can, the original one is also 12v but 0.883Amp, so is secure to use 12v 1Amp. The most important part is not to be bigger tan 1Amp, and ofcourse keep it in 12v.
Thank You for your info sir.... :) ... I always used a 7.4v original charger and every time I play my bose, automatically stops while the volume is in max. You are a life saver... No more thinking about buying bose revolve :)
I'm having same problems with my SoundLink mini Bose. I need another battery. I'm in Dakar Senegal 🇸🇳 west Africa Who is enough kind to send me such battery from Europe or America? God bless
mine is stuck on red when i charge it
but it is not blinking
I'm pretty sure that is a faulty battery. Have you tried swapping it?
You’re gonna need some thicker skin for this platform. Cheers!
Bought a replacement battery and it was worse.
Throw away
I chage the battery and dot not work!
