From Cali, Colombia, thank you very much for your video. It saves me from throwing my speaker in the trash or paying 150 dollars for the repair, which is what a new one is worth. I only paid $50 for the battery.
Thanks for the video. What an awfully complicated process... Compared to the previous model. Let's say that Bose made this model unrepairable for most users. That's scandalous.
Thanks for the video, I know it's a long time since posting but I will shoot my question anyways in the hopes of an answer. There was another person here having the same problem which is the fact that after correct installation - battery working, speaker saying the percentage - it only depletes but does not charge. The speaker is flashing amber as a sign of charging but it never actually does. I tried all kinds of hard reset on this speaker such as the long presses and it has the latest version ( mac tells me that on the bluetooth connection) but doesn't want to connect to neither mac or pc for the bose update using the app. Do you know by any change a fix on how to make the battery charge? Thank you very much!
They literally could've just put a 4 pin connector on the board, it's all right there, the design allowed for a quick 30 second battery replacment. Just why
I appreciate your efforts in fixing the Bose Soundlink mini (1st generation) Bluetooth speaker. However, I am deeply disappointed by the design of the circuitry housing, which I find to be inadequate and hindering repair. I purchased my Soundlink mini 1st generation for INR 16,800, along with an additional INR 3,800 for the pouch. I cherished this device, even writing an independent review after four months of use. Unfortunately, it now appears that the battery has failed, indicated by a blinking red light when I attempt to charge it. Bose no longer services this model, and the necessary battery is unavailable or prohibitively expensive from online sources. This experience has soured my opinion of Bose and other tech companies that produce such poorly constructed devices. I believe it is time for consumers worldwide to voice their concerns and consider boycotting Bose products. An independent agency should conduct a thorough audit of such practices. It is regrettable that a company of Bose's reputation has failed to meet my expectations.
This is the soundlink mini 2. If you have the very first model then it’s much easier to replace the battery. I have the sound link mini first generation model and it’s just four screws and pop the new battery in. Got one on Amazon and it’s even better then when new.
Is that just wire he’s using while soldering?? I bought a battery brought it too a guy he could do it but he didn’t swap the batteries lol ffs 🤦🏻♂️ he must of got side tracked or mixed them up after dis attached the battery now I’m think fuck this I’ll buy the soldiering kit myself lol 😂 I just need too know what he’s using and doing with the wire whilst soldiering 🤔

At least this video shows that you most likely will have to solder your new battery to the existing circuit board. Thank you ❤

I would like to replace the two Lithium 18650 cells in that housing against new and better cells with 3.0 or 3.4 Ah. I will try by myself.
Why is my bose speaker not charging but indicating red and orange light on the battery sign?
Same problem
When i plugin it is solid red light, how to know my device is ok or battery lost?
Hi, do you have a capacitance meter for testing the battery? The capacitance meter can detect whether the battery is normal.

READ THE MANUAL, ITS MORE EASY TO REPLACE THE BATTERY. JUST READ THE MANUAL. THIS IS NOT THE WAY THAT BOSE RECOMMENDS TO CHANGE THE BATTERY
