    I’ve not long bought one of these and this is my go to video every time I need to set it up (I seem to forgot the full procedure). Despite being 7 years old it’s still useful, so thank you.

    Hello, thank you for your setting demonstration.
    As far as checking squareness is concerned, I prefer the machinist's square with the DIN875 standard or BS 939 for you Brits. These carefully kept and handled little tools are used to check everything, including your favourite and usual squares.
    That's how my old Sandvik bracket ended its career as a signpost to the loo...
    Greetings from the Ardennes.

    Thanks Russell. I've just purchased one of these and this set up video was very helpful. I subscribed to your channel. I have a quick question. is there a way to alter the depth of cut? - I can see there is a stopper but it doesn't appear to have any height adjustment. If you have figured out a way to do this, please share. Thanks, Peter.

    To set laser:
    1. make cut on cardboard piece as you did.
    2. with 2 screws align it as close as possible.
    3. Undo tiny philips screw on the side of the laser and once u take plastic lense off you will see copper ring with two cuts.
    4. Place flat screw driver into cuts on copper ring and turn it anti-clockwise/clockwise to align it with cut on cardboard.
    P. S. I polished plastic lense before i put it back on to make laser brighter.
    Hope it helps

    Hi, I just bought the evolution r210sms + (my first miter saw). But I have encountered a problem the blade has a slight play I think it is due to the hex bolt securing the blade to the motor, the bolt has quite a bit of play compared to the thread of the motor block and even if I tighten it the wobble remains, however the cuts are precise at least on the wood. I was wondering if yours also had the same problem? Sorry for my English

    • @RussellPlatten
      @RussellPlatten  2 роки тому +1

      You english is very good. There is something wrong with what is happening. Make sure that you have the two washers on either side of the blade fitted the right way round. The outside washer must be placed with the convex side facing the outside and the concave side touching the blade. If everything is fitted correctly and the hex bolt is still wobbling, contact customer support or return it for another one. :-)

    Is there a way to tighten the rotating bed? On mine when I set to 0 degrees it can be anywhere from 0-5degrees - which is annoying. Im used to a mitre saw clicking into 0 every time (unless the adjustments you helpfully describe need resetting)

    • @RussellPlatten
      @RussellPlatten  Рік тому +1

      5 degrees is bad Mike. I would contact Evolution customer support (0114 251 1022) and tell them what is happening. It sounds to me as though the table needs slackening off rather than tightening. Hard to say. :-)

    • @Energyflash1979
      @Energyflash1979 Рік тому +1

      Yes you can tighten the bolt if you turn the saw upside down. It's the one in the centre. Have taken mine apart as had an issue with the rotating part being highly than the sides. Also it's a ballbearing on a spring which locks into the different degree measurements which can be tightened up too

      The arbor screw has a left hand thread Richard. It is slackened off and removed by turning the allen key in a clockwise direction (the opposite way to a normal screw). I suspect that you have over tightened the the screw by trying to remove it in the normal anticlockwise direction - something I have done myself on occasion. It will need a lot of force to start it off. Try appling more force in a clockwise direction that you would normally think acceptable. :-)
