I also have a reluctant writer. I looked at IEW, but I wound up going with Writing & Rhetoric. It has been a game-changer for us. I love seeing all the variations in this collab and the materials everyone has used successfully!
For those of you who still have littles, you have got to check out the Letter of the Week curriculum from Confessions of a Homeschooler. I'm using it for the first time with my 3rd kindergartener, and I wish I had found it when my older 2 were little. It looks SO fun. Love your choices! We're gonna be ussing IEW's writing curriculum next year and I'm so excited. Will definitely be checking out the Beautiful Feet history! ❤❤❤
Ok, they even have literature studies. I’m on a budget so I’m going to need you to not recommend amazing resources that I want to buy 🤣 totally kidding
I feel the same way you did. I finally invested in IEW for this year. I was scared because I had to buy 2 levels and the cost was like OMG. I have my fingers cross and I hope it works. By the way I went ahead and got the teacher course to. I will let you know how that course goes.
We tried not consumed but they didn’t work for us!!! We prefer devotionals and journaling and discussing!!! IEW didn’t work for us and I have my older kids in a writing class with my friend’s dad, I think he uses write by numbers but I’m Not sure!!! He taught his grandkids and they are now finished their schooling and my kids needed help with writing and he offered!!! We love beautiful feet even though we shelved it due to time and we only have Moden science history!!!
I just need to know the writing curriculum that he tolerated and the one that then killed the joy again. 😅 on our journey to find a writing program we love and IEW looks way to intense and overwhelming to me.
I do promise you it’s really not that bad. The videos can be a little long at times but even those you can break up over the course of three days instead of two. He really liked MB and after a few years of it I wanted him to be challenged a little more so we changed to TGTB and it made him hate writing again. Not saying TGTB is bad at all. There were definitely aspects of it that we enjoyed. The language arts just had so much geography and fluff that his lessons took a long time
Does BFB books early American history lessons take forever? The first thing we have used from them is their elementary US geography and the lessons take sooooo long and we even skip portions. And I haven’t loved some of the spines. 😬
Not at all. They would take us about 30 minutes. Here’s a do a lesson with us that I did if you want to see it. ua-cam.com/video/jcHFwguPQrA/v-deo.htmlsi=AQQ2g8FxYlhudYBm
@@HomegrownHomeschool just watched it. Definitely much shorter lessons than the geography course. Will keep them in mind for a future history option for sure. We are trying Simply Charlotte Mason this fall.
@@homeschoollifemom yes, I found the same with the geography. I felt like it was a lot harder to read/work through too. Not that the books were difficult but the parent instruction part. It was a lot of moving pieces

I didn’t think my girl would take to IEW but she loves it! She thinks Mr. Pudewa is so funny. His humor drew us in ❤️
@@sarah-annchaddick4908 my son was SO sad when he realized I was going to be teaching the themed book this year 🤣
I love the Peaceful Press ❤
I’ll have to try them out!

I have been considering getting Not Consumed! Thanks for sharing 🙂 I will definitely check some of these out.
Their studies are wonderful
Not consumed is great. My son and I use it together. Beautiful feet is amazing! We have early American and just got composers and character.
@@jessicam2792 I just got the composers one too! I can’t wait to review it and start using it
We loved Beautiful Feet too!!! It’s the first time I have enjoyed history myself! 🤣
@@heatherwiltshire0182 don’t they make it so fun?! I wish I had had it taught to me like that when I was young
Hey sweet mama. Loved listening to your favorite curriculums and so glad you have found so many resources you love! 🙌☺️💗💗
Thank you 💕
Haha I’ve avoided IEW for some of those same reasons 😂
Same! Then I did it and it worked better than expected :) Adapted schedule of course!
Girl, jump in 🤣 I promise it’s not bad at all
Me too! 😂
Not Consumed has had a place in our homeschool ever since I discovered them 😊
They have such great resources and studies
@@HomegrownHomeschool agreed!
I have heard a lot about not consumed, but we have yet to try them. I think its about time I get them in our rotation. 😊
I hope you love them as much as we have!

I totally understand. I am WAY too impulsive when I think I found a school resource that we can't live without 😂

@@HomegrownHomeschool okay. Good to know. We are going to try EIW this year. The videos are short, so that was appealing.
