I've had a fairly successful dating life. One might say either too successful or not successful enough depending on how much you value long-term relationships. I have NEVER, I repeat, NEVER dated a girl that listens to metal. Closest a got was a girl I dated in my early 20's that listened to stuff like Story of the Year and Rise Against. I think the problem is most people who listen to metal (any and all genders) don't like to meet people at bars, don't make friends with their coworkers, and are too cool for dating apps. And then they wonder why it's hard to find someone.
My Metal head friends chastised me for days when I stayed listening to electronic and pop, and started going to dance clubs and raves, but I started getting laid, and all of them pretty much stayed virgins lol.
"Metallica sucks! You should listen to Circle Jerks." gave me flashbacks to a midsummers night party like 15 years ago but it was about inhale screaming and me being A FUCKING IDIOT.
I lost a few acquaintances with Fade to Black being the background music. It came out when I was in middle school. But Metallica albums didn't age in those days. I'm not kidding though. I walked in on my buddy about to delete himself over his girlfriend leaving him. Literally pressing and dragging his butterfly knife down his wrists. I stopped him and hung out with him for days. They ended up getting back together later. Married I'm pretty sure. But Fade To Black (on tape)was on repeat in the background while he was in the act. Even afterwards. He kept rewinding it. This was back in the high speed dubbing, extra fast rewind/fast forward days. All this to say is you are correct. Many sad endings with that song.
I didn't know Hot Topic had changed that much but I haven't actually been inside a mall in like 15 years. Only time ever been to a mall is the movie theater that's attached to it.
I as a teenager would have more than likely been impressed by a metal guy but I was so weird and awkward myself that it wouldn't have even mattered. I was too scared to talk to anyone at school that didn't watch Star Trek or play d&d because I was a band geek with four friends who were all choir virgins.
When i was in highschool myself and a friend ditched school to take a 2 hour bus ride to another town because the New age hippy store that sold bongs also had a rack of Metal band merch. I bought a Slayer shirt and a PanterA CFH shirt that had “FUCKING HOSTILE” on the back and my mum made me return it lol. Anything like a Hot Topic would’ve been a dream come true for us.
I almost got scared when you said "heres the thing" initially and andy Biersack didnt appear! But i was relieved when he appeared after rhe second heres the thing! Good stuff

The thing about hot topic is that i think nerdcore and fandoms should stick together, so yeah, put anime and funkos in there. But when i go and i cant find a FOB shirt but can find 5 different mgk and 7 bts shirts? Yeahhhh thats not awesome. But i still love hot topic for the occasional visit

The first one was on point except I never take things off except my boots because me girlfriend and her roommates asks we take off shoes/boots ect in their house. In the past though I figured though if a girl brings up metal and she asks you to play something, play any gothic metal, preferably stuff with lead female vocalists doing clean vocals or play some Rammstein or System of a Down and they'll talk about how they loved listening to that with their older sibling when they were younger. I think the problem is most people who listen to metal (any and all genders) don't like to meet people at bars, don't make friends with their coworkers, and are too cool for dating apps. And then they wonder why it's hard to find someone.
I'm imagining vividly how my 18-year-old metal nerd self would spazz at this comment and laughing so hard, this is so true!
guy in the motley crue definitely discovered motley crue through the netflix movie
My Metal head friends chastised me for days when I stayed listening to electronic and pop, and started going to dance clubs and raves, but I started getting laid, and all of them pretty much stayed virgins lol.
Sex is gross
They want a "metalhead boyfriend" exclusively for the aesthetic of the Tiktoks they think they'd be able to make together.
7:48 this is why I dislike a lot of the metal fanbase
DaTz NoT RwEaL MeTaL
omg same. That is the cringiest.
Im a genre purist…
but i have mellowed out …
So, it wasn't just me who chose the school newspaper and the debate club as extracurriculars in 10th grade😅
Virginity rocks
@@FinnMckentyPRMBA losing it is for certified posers only
A depressed metalhead in the 80s was called a Goth. They listen to The Smiths, the Cure and Joy Division.
I suppose
I mean The Cure has metalhead fans
@@lethybridtheorygolucastheo2191 im one
Were you a metalhead in the 80s? Metalheads I knew in the 80s would have labeled all that stuff "Art F@&" music.
@@darrellmarcks6304 it is ❤️😂
I didn't know Hot Topic had changed that much but I haven't actually been inside a mall in like 15 years.
Every time I hear the word "here's the thing" I think of that clip you showed from black veil brides haha😭🤣
I almost got scared when you said "heres the thing" initially and andy Biersack didnt appear! But i was relieved when he appeared after rhe second heres the thing! Good stuff
I graduated high school in 89 and the metalheads would make fun of the hair metal fans and they didn't like Motley Crue.
But to normies, they're all the same. 🤷🏽
Metalhead TikTok is the music version of "Do You Even Lift?" However, unlike "Do You Even Lift?", the metalheads aren't being ironic or satirical which makes it funnier.
Funny enough, I used to be mutuals with the girl on the "Nu metal and black metal fans fighting over which is worse." She started that war on Tik Tok last year
I was ready and still got hurt 😭
This is your best video yet, Finn. Discordance Axis, Dystopia, Gutalax and Tuscan Sausage soup. 10/10
Can we refer to the "crusty mustache" as a "crustache"
Finn, I might have missed it, but there is one band that you have not talk about much who really are the leaders on their generation. Good to see your representing their shirt. Plenty on Madball love, we need some major SOIA love ❤
When I was 14 I got a black flag shirt at hot topic. The store just came out and i was just getting into punk and metal. Man the older dudes ripped into me hard for rocking the shirt and not knowing that many songs I only really knew Henry Rollins from his edge lord shit haha
"Awh hes giving her his cloak"
I spit my coffee out
I still get metal and rock band shirts at Hot Topic. I take my daughter shopping there too.
I'm thoroughly addicted to Metal Head Tiktok. There's something very compelling about it. It's difficult to see through the veil of cringe, but perseverance is the key.
Hot Topic used to be tight. I got my vinyl copy of Dance Gavin Dance's "Whatever I say is Royal Ocean" from my local one years ago before they changed the store to be trendy Spencers without dildos
I guess I am a walking red flag to this dude- Stay Metal af Ladies 🤘
Regarding hot topic; got some sick whitechapel, SS, Norma Jean shirts from hot topic- left for the army- got out of the army- could only find trippy red, slipknot, lil peep, and mainstream anime shirts there.
I felt like I was in a completely different business
You know what? Panter-A! From here on out I'll pronounce the band Panter-A. That's hilarious!
Discordance Axis lmfao legend move
I always chuckled evertime Finn said “here’s the thing” and Andy clip appear
So am I a red flag when I'm the Pantera fan but my husband of 34 years doesnt know who they are? However, I look like an every day Mom and Grandmother.
I love how most of this was just Finn giving us dating advice
Fr tho
The thing about hot topic is that i think nerdcore and fandoms should stick together, so yeah, put anime and funkos in there. But when i go and i cant find a FOB shirt but can find 5 different mgk and 7 bts shirts? Yeahhhh thats not awesome. But i still love hot topic for the occasional visit
I personally love Panter A! And if I were a metal guy I would have found that so 😍 cute. Finn is just out here trying to help these poor dudes "Score", as Bevis and Butthead would say.
😂😂😂
11:35 of course we do, it’s the best way to win us over as well as to disrespect your surroundings.
Omg the screaming at olive garden had me lmao
tfw you fumble the baddie and youre crying in your room listening to fade to black by Metallic A
I’m a metalhead they/them, my gf is a listens to a lot of softer music and honestly I’m so glad that’s our dynamic, because it means I have a massive pool of music to listen to. She showed me a few Chapel Roan songs a few months ago and I bump them with or without her
The music buyers were regional. My buddy Ryan (singer of Liberty And Justice) was the guy in Houston and surrounding bought for HT and he got my first release on my label in all the Texas locations. Shout out to Grave Robbers "Hell To Pay", that album rips!
This explains why I heard my 14 year old daughter learning to play a pierce the veil song..tiktok 🤦♂️
A Well-Adjusted-Chad is always waiting around the corner. Beware.
I love how Finn tells that story every time, as if most of us ever hung out with a girl prior to being employed. It's still funny though.
The person who "listens to anything" but listens to only metal was the best best of this video. 100% true. Walker Hayes xD
Motley Crue tried to be in a Netflix and performing the musical instruments of a metal T-shirt to going back to the movies back in time?!
Thank you for the tips Metal Dad, but that was a lot of tough love. Think I'll go watch a Metal Mom video and feel better again. :)
Seriously though, metalheads and metal archetypes are really stuck in a neutral lol.
Hahahahha I was screaming gig bag!!! Haha that made me sooo happy when you pointed that at
"When I first saw this, I thought it was a joke"
Yeah, I also said that about Black Metal, and I still say that.
Sir you’ve clearly never toured Italy at the olive garden
"Listens to Dystopia once" is in the top 5 greatest PSAs ever.
Also Tacobell, these girls love Tacobell so ask them if they want to mozy on over there.
That mediocre power metal song from 1983 is actually from 2023! That band is called Mourning high and they’re pretty good.
