- College freshman Makenzie Minge grew up a Pentecostal protestant but became Catholic this year following a very powerful encounter with Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist during a school retreat at Powers High School in Flint, Michigan. Mackenzie is also Bishop Earl Boyea's inspiring story On the Road to Emmaus this week as we continue our year-long pilgrimage through the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Enjoy the film!

Thank you so very much Makenzie. Your words were so beautiful and powerful. I pray every Catholic could see your testimony and know how incredibly blessed we Catholics are to have the Eucharist and the Mass. Many take it for granted. While you said it’s not as spontaneous as your other Church, that is what I love about it. I love that every where in the WHOLE WORLD we Catholics are praying the same prayers and reading the same scriptures and receiving Jesus in the Eucharist!!!! It makes us all one in Christ!!!

I finished last week’s challenge today. (10/28) When I first saw the challenge to read a section of the Catholic Catechism, I thought it was going to be way over my head and a real challenge! I was pleasantly surprised that it was easy reading, and as a lifelong Catholic, I knew much of it. There was new information that helped to understand the Eucharist, and why it is the cornerstone of our faith. Another valuable challenge.😊
