I have an 08 and am starting a building for extended camping trips weeks to a month at a time. Great seeing somebody building up a Silverado. Keep it up brother
@@Tricky_86 nice check out Billie bars, they make a nice crossbar for your truck bed. They can be used for various different things if you ever take the tent off
Have an 2013 2500HD 6.0 gasser. It’s sweet. Have 285 75R 17. Didn’t want wide tires. It sits high. The classic Ranch Hand Bumper Grill combo. Like you said after market bumpers give you better angles. I have a winch that fits in the receiver port on the front of the truck. Have it rigged so I can run it off back. Keep it in tool box. It’s my hunting / work truck so I have a headache rack and tool box on it. I pull work trailers and my 28 foot camper no problem. Trucks a beast. Bought ditch lights just need to mount. Next upgrade better shocks.
@@rippinlips1133 its all about how much you wanna spend. Bilstein makes some good affordable shocks, cant go wrong with Kings. There's a few in between, especially for a heavier truck like yours. If you dont tow extremely heavy I would think about changing out the the leafs and coils for a different spring rate to give you more flexibility off-road.
Great looking rig man, doing the same sorta stuff like you for camping outa the back in the shell and love it! Same year, got coil overs for some extra camping gear and trailer weight which was pretty cheap, love it.
Cool rig! I always hook my winch onto the bullbar though. I've swamped my atv so bad I couldnt even dig out the winch cable, so I've been hooking it onto the highest point of my atv, and now my truck, just in case.
Thanks man! Since it's my daily as well I keep it hooked down there until I'm on a trail that is bad enough then I do move it. I'll actually unspool about 20ft and wrap the bull bar to have quick access. I rarely hit mud that deep. Snow definitely. Thanks for watching check out my trail video as well.
Didn't get your notification. Yes there are a couple different ones. Dorman make one that alot of prerunner guys use. Check out 454 Motors, they do awesome work.
I did not. I sold the truck before I did. However, I found a custom shop near me who would do them for a good price. Custom is the only option ive found.
Yeah after I purchased the kit they started pushing the uni-ball design which I got later.. After replacing ball joints 3 times.. The new "delta" style joint companies are making now will do alot better in these types of applications.
@@ryancarpenter1678 I never did. But I was about to leave my sway bar off and I tested the droop and at full droop without sway bar my CV would bind on the passenger side.
What type of fuel economy do you get now with those mods. I’m looking for a mix of what it’d look like if it came from factory off-road and a few mods here and there
I have the diablo predator tuner with the same pickup. How did you go about getting the custom tune? I haven't noticed a huge difference in power and would like to know what options with the tuning I would have. I'm also running bigger tires and a lift as well.
Look up "Diablew" Lewis Easten. He has a website and is a certified Diablo dealer. He will have u run a data log and email it to him then he will create a tune and send it back in an email that u can download to your tuner and load on the truck. It's a huge difference. Especially with shifting points and keeping my tranny temps cooler.
Could never find: rock sliders, skids plates, bed mounting panels, alot of other little offroad accessories. things in the "plug and play" market or bolt on market were for F150 or smaller vehicles. Like Jeep and Tacoma's, or the new colorado's.
One of my favorite looking Silverados

Chevy has been good. Might be starting a new project truck soon. Stay tuned. But check out the other vids in the meantime.🤟

For sure man will do just in the process of getting everything together and building a rack for my rooftop tent

Awesome man. Sounds like you gotta good rig!
What shocks would you recommend for towing/off road. I was thinking some Bilstien

Truck looks good! Clean and functional.
I saw on one of the Chevy lift sites, I wanna say WFO or BDS, a replacement washer fluid reservoir that tucked it up higher.

Thanks man! I'm finishing up one right now. Make sure u subscribe to get notified!
You mentioned D V B. It's actually D V 8. Looking GREAT bro!
Yes. Good catch. Little slip under camera stress.
It’s a DV8 bumper and yes they make for all kinds of Silverado‘s there now three piece bumpers and they’re legit
nice truck!
Thanks man. More videos of it in action coming soon.
Link to front bumper??

sweet built! what brand is the bumper?
Thanks man. Its a DV8 offroad. I show their logo towards the beginning of the video. They are a cheaper yet sturdy brand.
Did you end up getting rock sliders? Having trouble finding pre-fab sliders for the 1500

I did the tuff country 4 inch on my ram I ordered icon control arms I hate those tuff country control arms.

nice looking truck!! rock sliders you going to build them? I want to do the same to my truck
I found a good fabrication company that will make me some custom ones. As well as a nice rear bumper tire carrier so I can mount a full size spare.
I know it's an older video, but do you have the link for that bumper?
See comments below. I listed with another person that asked.

With the custom tune I averaged 16-17 mpg 14 towing my 4k lb boat.
@@aspiringadventure Thanks for replying back. Is that with mostly highway driving or city?
@@norpino7704 pretty close to a true 50/50 drive the highway for trips. But drive around town or in the Hills when home or on the trip.
