2dogsbiking For real. He probably gets better mpg than a tacoma too. When I put 33s on mine I got 14mpg. I got 35s on my silverado right now and I get 16.
You absolutely knocked it out of the park with this build! I have a 2012 white ext cab 6.5 ft bed 4x4 silverado I just ordered a leer 100xr and a bedrug. This motivates me to keep moving forward with my own build.
Just beautiful... Seriously inspirational... you are super smart and capable of anything, you should be proud. I have a 2015 LTZ 4x4 that I’d like to overland. Probably just do a nice rack system and slowly build. Best of luck and travel safe.
One of a kind. Thats truely an intense build with all the electrronics youve done.Beautiful job, nice clean functional looking rig. I have a 2000 silverado iam just starting to build. Cheers from B.C. Canada
I am really impressed with your BAD ASS overland truck. IMHO it has been very well thought out. You did an incredible and creative job with the electronics. I love your choice of tires. I was going to buy those but went with the GrabberX3's. It was a flip of the coin. I like your shower too. It provides lots of extra water if an emergency would arise. I give you a perfect 10. I forgot to mention I like the fact you choose both an amateur radio as well as a CB. Propagation can be a tricky subject. I hope it gives you years of fun and dependability. Cheers, Ody Slim
I just picked up a 12 crew cab Z71, already got a topper on it color matched. After watching this video, I have a huge list to tackle. Great video, love the truck!!!
I have an 07 crew cab I'd like to do something similar. outdoor adventures is life. love camping with the family and everything that comes with it. awesome setup and nice rig.
That is an awesome overland rig! Not many people use Chevy for overland but you did a great job! Very innovative with all of the electronics and Bluetooth. Cheers🍻
Haha VK7001.P - MAD Magazine used to have a series of books titled "Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions." You just nailed that one at expert level, haha.
This is kind of what I am looking at doing to my 2017. That Bluetooth command module is an awesome idea! Gonna have to learn how to program, which in this day and age isn't a bad skill to have anyways. Awesome build!
You can buy as well for that now. Both Garmin and REDARC do that sort of system now (REDARC did back then too, but it wasn't available outside Australia at the time)/
awesome truck I'm in the process of making my 2007 chevy 2500 4x4 4door 6.0 vortec into an overland truck your video gave me alot of great ideas and the shower add on is really cool
Hey Jason all i can say is you did an amazing job on your truck for overlanding, lots of cool features keep up the good work, maybe you can shoot a video of your trip. Also the program you wrote is sweet
Awesome rig!!! Everything looks great and well put together! Not sure if you addressed it, but I would definitely recommend a trans cooler/bigger than stock cooler. The trans temps climb pretty quick when off-road.
that's not a bad idea at all!!!!!!! I actually never thought of that, lol. when I went on my last trip, I went through Colorado and that did a number on my trans temp. that would have helped a lot! great call! there is still a few more small items I want to do, diff breather, overhaul the drawer design, etc. and now Trans cooler made it on the list!
Bad ass truck and nice taste in equipment! I'm not a Chevy guy but I would drive that rig anywhere! I plan on doing this in the near future on a ford =D
Very nice rig :) A little bit to over-equipped for my taste, but everyone is different. I love the layout on your truckbed and the shower. all in all, a very cool rig. Hope the first trip went well.
Awesome build! This is similar to what I want to do with my '16 ltz crew 6.2! It just ran out of warranty and I just put Kings at each corner and ordered 35's. Questions: What camper top make/model are you running? ATC? What rear leaf pack are you running? Did you factor the weight of the tools, tray, water, etc when spec'ing the pack? Did you get the Fox coilovers with the BDS kit or are they custom and valved for this build? What propane heater? Pump for the water? How did you get the internet to show up on the head unit? What head unit are you using? Couldn't you do this with an Ipad? I'm very interested in how you did the electrical design and layout. Extremely impressive! Have you documented this build anywhere else? Well done sir! Cheers!
Very nice work. I really like this setup because it looks spacious enough for long trips, but the truck itself is kept small. Can't stand those Crew Cab Long bed expedition trucks with literally no space to live. Greetings from Germany :)
Excellent work, would it be beneficial to have a marine type battery switch to kill voltage to the whole vehicle incase of an electrical fire?. Very nice work love the detail good job.
That is really impressive, I love it, I really like your shower setup and have been looking into doing something like that myself, would you be able to list the parts you use, IE. heat exchanger, water tank, temp gauge, water level gauge. I am in the process of planing my adventure / expedition build on my 2015 Chevy Silverado Crew cab 1500
Awesome rig Jason I have a 05 Silverado 3500 that I have started to build as a overland rig would love to know more about the Bluetooth setup and the electrical layout. Travel far travel safe!!
Massively impressive setup. I have an '11 Sierra ext cab with 6" lift and 35's that I'm wanting to do something similar with. The fact that you did this in a single cab is amazing to me as I feel my ext cab is almost too small sometimes. I'm very much contemplating a bed cap simply because of this video. I am curious as to how you like the bully dog programmer. I'm not sold on tuners for gas engines just yet. Love the truck!
you would be surprised! it seems small at first, but I think it's actually perfect. the best is when you compare my truck the way it is, versus a crew cab Tacoma. it's actually only slightly bigger and heavier. it's really not a terrible choice for an overland truck. as far as tuner, yeah, totally not impressed. I can barely notice a performance increase and I don't see any improvement in gas mileage. I think the features is cool. but it's worth a $100, not $400 something.
Im just starting on building out my 2016 silverado. Nice work man im really impressed with the electrical work you've done. What elocker did you use and how has it been performing?
wow all I can say is wow. so much inspiration here man I hope the trip beats all you're expectations. how could I reach you for tips and tricks on building my own rig similar to yours. I have so many questions.
Do other people have the Bluetooth system, or is it original? Also you definitely don't have to worry about loosing your house with that king of set up. Awesome build by the way.
Its cool, I will put it here. www.wilcooffroad.com/shop/hitchgate/?gclid=CjwKEAjw-Oy_BRDg4Iqok57a4kcSJADsuDK1mkgdr9uHqtARlnc7V3veupDh5tzd5qdZgWhkRCQLqxoCUvnw_wcB Call them and ask for a discount.
oh, cmon man! whats this!? You just made me save my money, grab my wife and go rock Morocco overlanding. Congrats, man, youre doing an awesome job with this Silverado. Is there a video with the finished project? or getting there? Thanks.
nice to see someone build a full size instead of another Tacoma
2dogsbiking For real. He probably gets better mpg than a tacoma too. When I put 33s on mine I got 14mpg. I got 35s on my silverado right now and I get 16.
Even better to see a single cab truck.
Really wish there are more Chevy, dodge, and Ford build like this
You absolutely knocked it out of the park with this build! I have a 2012 white ext cab 6.5 ft bed 4x4 silverado I just ordered a leer 100xr and a bedrug. This motivates me to keep moving forward with my own build.
WOW 6 years later, and folks still arent building rigs like this. super cool
I can see this truck was a labor of love. Very awesome work sir; I am inspired.
Seeing a well done single cab silverado is like seeing a unicorn. Awesome.
This is such a meticulous and thoughtful build. No wasted space or accessories here. Well done!
Just beautiful... Seriously inspirational... you are super smart and capable of anything, you should be proud. I have a 2015 LTZ 4x4 that I’d like to overland. Probably just do a nice rack system and slowly build. Best of luck and travel safe.

Very nice build. If you could do a video on mounting that winch in the factory bumper that would be awesome. Really nice truck. Thanks
You know what makes this amazing build even better? Its a chevy.
noah burkhardt , damn right!
o i assumed that's why it was parked and not moving or running HA
from the driver's seat obviously
Haha VK7001.P - MAD Magazine used to have a series of books titled "Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions."

You did a great job. I hope your trip went well. I have a 2011 Crew Cab I've done alot to it. Mine is cadered for work. Good job.
Dude, that is the coolest truck I've ever seen.
Bro that is a hella bad ass truck!! Love what you did with it. First Silveraydo I come across with like this. Bad ass!!! Loaded for sure.
i like the use of breakers over fuses. a very out of the box approach.
Man I love it! Awesome hobby. I imagine it is as much fun working on/ building this as it is using it.
Fantastic job! I love you built out a regular cab truck, that is what I want to do.
awesome truck I'm in the process of making my 2007 chevy 2500 4x4 4door 6.0 vortec into an overland truck your video gave me alot of great ideas and the shower add on is really cool
Wow, that is a sweet setup.
That ride is sweet! Nice to see a Chevy as an overlander. Great job!
Awesome build! Hope we get to see more of your adventures!
Very nice work. Love the electronics. Enjoy the ride

Awesome truck dude you and your friend did a fantastic job.
wow, one of the best overlands builds I've seen! well thought out!
Absolutely amazing overland rig! Truly incredible!
Really nice set up, i love it.
Great Job building your rig! It's impressive!
Bad ass truck and nice taste in equipment! I'm not a Chevy guy but I would drive that rig anywhere! I plan on doing this in the near future on a ford =D
nice! well I'm always happy to share building tips :)
Very nice rig :) A little bit to over-equipped for my taste, but everyone is different. I love the layout on your truckbed and the shower. all in all, a very cool rig. Hope the first trip went well.
brother very impressive, i hope that trip went well. you sir are very talented
Devildogvet 666 thank you!
Wow man! amazing build! im 4 month in to building out my silverado also. Really jealous of that water system and the hidden winch!
Just built my 07 to do the same stuff. Awesome build!
Awesome build brotha...hopefully my 2016 will look as good as yours
this shit is fucking insane i love it a lot of pride in this build !!!
That's one heck of a set up, nice job!!
That truck is amazing. Great job.
Do you have any videos of it performing off-road? Awesome looking truck, thinking of doing of something this for my pick up truck!
Awesome build, glad to see a GM build finally. Can't wait to some more vids of your adventures
Not bad! I’d ditch the 20 inch wheels though. Get 17’s if you off-road more.
Sick Overland Truck! Love it.... I'm currently working on my 05' Colorado Z71 Crew Expedition proj.
You gave me some more great ideas Bro. thx
Nice, I would’ve never thought to use a single cab
Awesome build! This is similar to what I want to do with my '16 ltz crew 6.2! It just ran out of warranty and I just put Kings at each corner and ordered 35's.

this thing is awesome i love all the homemade items down to writing software! Amazing.
Excellent work, would it be beneficial to have a marine type battery switch to kill voltage to the whole vehicle incase of an electrical fire?. Very nice work love the detail good job.
Very nice. Unique and functional. You deserve more views. How did your trip turn out?
Trip of a lifetime!
That is really impressive, I love it, I really like your shower setup and have been looking into doing something like that myself, would you be able to list the parts you use, IE. heat exchanger, water tank, temp gauge, water level gauge. I was going to make a specific video about it! I'll make sure to include all the parts for you! :)
And you're watching changing places too?Dope. Lol
Trading Places, but yeah that was my reaction too!! :D
Awesome rig Jason I have a 05 Silverado 3500 that I have started to build as a overland rig would love to know more about the Bluetooth setup and the electrical layout. Travel far travel safe!!
I used an 8 relay with temp from tinysine. I had to rewrite the program, but it was worth it! I think it was only 65 bucks as well.
One of the best builds ive seen, its truly awesome man. Specially on a Silverado🔥👍👌
I do think it is as cool as you think it is. Super job...Super Chevy Truck!!
Wow, really cool setup.

Jason where you get the switch panel in the rear of the truck ?? sick setup man !
::Starts writing down ideas for Tahoe::
Truck is awesome! How's it performing for you?
Amazing machine. Do you have a link to the spare tire gate?
It's a Wilco Tire Gate
Awesome setup man! enjoy it!
Nice rig man! That tire gate.... have you been able to tow with it? I’m looking to maybe get one myself but if I can’t tow then it’s a deal breaker.
Do other people have the Bluetooth system, or is it original? Also you definitely don't have to worry about loosing your house with that king of set up. Awesome build by the way.
Nice build. Where did you get your water heater and what kind of pump did you use.
SUPERRRRR NICEEEE MAN !!!
Terrific job!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Awesome rig man!!!
Jason, where did you buy your tire rack. You can PM me. Thanks. Awesome truck

Awesome build. What swing out tire carrier are you using?
I've been looking for one similar to yours
Bad ass truck man!!
Awesome rig!
This is cool, but if it was a suburban it would be way cooler!!
NICE RIG, congratulations. Whats the control panel model o specs?
oh, cmon man! whats this!? You just made me save my money, grab my wife and go rock Morocco overlanding.
Congrats, man, youre doing an awesome job with this Silverado. Is there a video with the finished project? or getting there? Thanks.
great build
That is one awesome truck. One question I have though is did you increase fuel capacity or did you stay with the stock tank?
One sweet setup.how much did it cost 💭
83k :)
Nice job!
All said and done how much have you invested in this bad ass build not including the truck.
Octavio Guevara that's actually a great question. including gear, about 26-27k
I just discovered your video, so you may have already shared this, but what is the manufacturer of the canopy? Great truck!!!
Very impressive!
question is where are you head off to ? by the way nice rig !
what was the reason you went with a short box and not a long box?
Waoooo,,,👍👍👍super nice man!!!awesome!!!
awesome truck
This truck is perfect!!
nice build! did you use a rasberry pi for your programming? I been thinking about doing a similar thing for my ridgeline
