I am black from Ohio . I can’t stand the midwest. Seen most of America The industrial Midwest is disgusting. My least favorite part of America. Especially NE Ohio , I will be visiting Portland . Never been here but I may love this place from what I hear .
The last few years has been inundated with homelessness, along with the problems arising from lack of shelter. Problems like drugs, mental illness, garbage, and overwhelmed ineffective politicians. Yes Portland can be a beautiful, wonderful, weird place to live and raise a family but we do have issues.

The Midwest reeks .I may be visiting Portland in the spring. I have seen most of America especially California but not the Pacific Northwest. I don’t know about moving I have never been to Portland but I do like what I hear from my California friends about the PDX . Will be visiting Portland in spring with my sister.
I’m moved to Portland last year from California and in less a month my car and bike got stolen lol homeless people everywhere and you barley see cops out there so you on ur own. But yeah I moved back to Cali Fuck Portland 😂
I'm curious why the NW area isn't mentioned. Is it not considered a quadrant? My son moved to Portland in Jan and lives in Slabtown. I'm following a few Portland based realtors right now and I've yet to see any of them mention that area. Is there a reason? I'm super excited to explore the Alberta area on my next visit, but soooo curious why Slabtown/Nob Hill and the Pearl are often not talked about in videos. Also, I'm just starting to research possibly moving there, so I absolutely could have missed these discussions!!

This is mostly a positive list. What about the bad stuff? I keep hearing about the homelessness crisis.

IT's also a great area, although it's taking a hard hit since covid. Lot of homeless in the area, which is why not many are talking about it.

How are the schools in the North East?
Portland Public is average at best, some areas are better then other depending on the location.
The absolute worst. Had to place my son in an expensive private school.
I’m a de-caf drinker ☕️ , is this shunned upon in Portland ?
