Kori...It's now mid-December, 4 months from your original posting in August. It's started raining as normal around Nov 1 and has been raining pretty much every day. Has the constant rain dampened your enthusiasm about Portland?? If so, it's only been six weeks of it. The rainy season stops next June. I hope you're adjusting because you seem to be such a nice person. Oregon needs all the nice people it can get right now.

If you're coming after October, bring a good hooded raincoat. Oregonians don't usually use umbrellas. It's not necessarily usually heavy rain, but more like light rain, even mist. But it is constant. Forget sunglasses. Sometimes because of rain or cloud cover, you literally don't see the sun for months. When the sun does make a rare appearance during the winter, you look to the sky and feel blinded and think, "What's that strange orange glowing thing up there?" I am not exaggerating any of these statements.

This is very inspiring!! I want to eventually work at Nike in Oregon for marketing. Hopefully I can go for an internship my junior year. I’m very excited this is my dream job!!! So u have any advice for me?
It's always so interesting to me to see people moving out to Portland/Beaverton just to work at/be close to Nike cause I've lived here my whole life and I'm just used to Nike being here haha

Kori Maria. I hope you did some research on the downside of life in Portland, Or. There are plenty of people that move to Portland in the summer and believe they have found heaven on earth. Then around Mid October, they discover what Portland's rainy reputation is all about. As the rainy season then lasts until at least May, half of the new Oregonians go rushing out of the area before Xmas, driven mad by constant rainfall. It takes a hardy person to stick it out the first winter. It's a matter of expectation. The newcomer keeps wondering, "Is it ever going to stop raining". After living in Portland a full year you will have the answer to that question. During the winter months, "No, it won't stop". Good luck to you on your new adventure.
Kori Maria.. Some statistics to back up my above statement. The normal rainy season of Mid Oct to Mid May is 7 months. That 7 months have approx 210 days. Portland sees about 156 average days of rain in that period. That means it rains about 75% of the days during that period of the year.
