That’s a bad mistake. Portland isn’t the place to move to right now.. it’s to much shooting that’s going on and not enough police staff. Portland is like a 3rd world country now.. do you research and look at other UA-cam video’s before you decide to move to portland
I’m moving as a 20 year old from Texas I know housing is a lot, but I’ll be living with a good friend so that isn’t a worry of mine as it would be for others. The pay is really good starting off which I am impressed honestly.
Thanks for the info! My son lives in Slabtown and I've fallen in love with the city! Live in San Jose now, but would love to relocate to PDX. Is the Alberta Arts district as walkable for grocery shopping, eating and entertainment as the Pearl/Slabtown/Knob Hill? Looking forward to exploring them all much more this coming week! Thanks for the great content! Hope to need your services in the future!
Life long black Oregonian & Portlander here Ps the more of our community that moves here, the better! Come join us. We are really growing even in the Beaverton area, I’m seeing so many of our ppl which I NEVER saw maybe more than 2 black ppl in a day growing up. I’m excited for the future of RIP city 🤗
Wonderful video so informative. My question to you would be the cost of living? Is it very expensive to live there.? I know you have the four seasons if I’m not mistaken. I found this video so informative if you could possibly elaborate on the cost of living maybe in some detail that would be most appreciative. I’m planning on visiting visiting with some friends hopefully this summer. I have two friends that live in the state but not in Portland. New subscriber here. Great job thanks for sharing hope to hear back from you soon.😄
We definalty have a homeless problem, you see it everywhere you go now days but it's like any other big city. I wish the city was doing more. currently their is a 5 year plan in place to address the problems
No, it's not exaggerated. Homeless are everywhere. Yeah, so "lots of big cities have the problem", but it's worse here. Dems are just in denial, because it's their fault, they run all the big cities. Makes the whole area miserable, and will drive a lot of people away. I regret moving here.
My husband and I are moving there all the way from South Carolina in a couple months, and I'm nervous because I hear downtown isn't as safe as it used to be. Any thoughts on how safe the area is currently?
I heard they were making it illegal now to pitch tents on the sidewalks and are making tent cities. Is this true?💛My husband are thinking of movingvto Portland from Bend. Thankyou 💛💙💛
I was from the north Idaho area and went to portland a lot for vacation and to visit my family that lives there. Is it really that much different than what I experienced in the early 2000s?
When it does rain, it's usually just alight drizzle, hardly rain. Portland is actually not as rainy as people say it is. A lot of places in the US get more rain. I moved here expecting lots of rain, I was quite disappointed. The entire summer is usually dry. It sucks, too much sun in July/August. Oregon is more like Northern CA than Washington state, as far as climate goes.
I'm a native Oregonian and yes the crime is ridiculous compared to what it use to be. When innocent people are getting shot just driving down the street I wouldn't say it's safe. Homeless people are EVERYWHERE any patch of grass they see they'll put a tent and know at some point your car will get broken into it's just a part of life if you live anywhere near the downtown area. It's awful I would think long and hard before moving here.
I’m 18 years old and planning on moving with my boyfriend from Southern California. We both knew we wanted to get out of Cali and go somewhere more intimate and away from such large cities like LA. We both want somewhere where’s there’s more nature and more of a closely knit relationship. This seems like such a great place especially coming from a black woman.
Its amazing no matter where you end up, ive never had a problem, I was born and rasiede here. left for a short period of time but came back home because I love it so much.
I’m sorry your video is not well edited, some of your words are swallowed between the cut ✂️ at 6:44 what are you saying ?? Be prepared to pay for what ??
I love Oregon but don't want to live in Portland it's way too expensive. There's a lot of other cities that are just as nice but so much cheaper. Lots of homeless people too!!
Its a beautiful city and it depends on what happens to you here.Mostly ok City .Friendly people willing to help each other. When your life is sorry anything and everything around you is also sorry .It is hard to see forest because the trees are in the way.
High taxes High rent High home prices High cost of living. High crime High homeless population High car accident deaths. Lots of racism Bad roads. Bad schools You should move here.
This was very informative. I am planning to move there soon. I am looking forward to the experience.
It really is a great city with tons do! Reach out if you want more information on areas to live and things to do
@@trishadirksinPortland I am a bit nervous but I’m ready for this new experience. Yes, I’d love more information ☺️.
What info can I provide?
@@trishadirksinPortland I have been looking in Multnomah County. I’d like more information on 3 bedrooms apartments within a certain price range.

So many beautiful waterfalls
The land is beautiful that's all that matters and your energy
I’m encouraged, I’m planning my move there in 3/2023 for a job and expanding my private practice
Yay! You will love it!
Beaches,the oceans, river's, lake's is like just a huge thing that I miss 😢😢

Transportation is amazing in the Portland area surrounding area
Depends on where. Some of the suburb areas don't have good trimet service at all.
😂
There is bus service to the gorge and the beach which I think is a plus.
Great question, I'll check into it
3:47 breakfast in the hood is FIRE!!!

I lived in PDX from 1979 to 2009.... I just moved back 2 weeks ago, so look out! I'm home!
Welcome back home!
One huge similarity with New Jersey and Oregon - only station attendants can pump gas.
Correct!
Ms Tricia your a great ambassador for Portland. I’m interested in moving there into a condo or town house.
Check other UA-cam videos about homelessness. It’s awful. So glad we moved out. It’s not everywhere.
This video is a year old. Crime has risen there and after the demand to defund police, now they are asking to hire 300 or so police. Is this for real?
I loved this video, thank you so much!
So glad!
Portland has a San Francisco Bay feel to it
No it doesn't. Even at all..how high were you? Yeah it has homeless people and needles on the sidewalk
@@Azazel2024 yes it does

Rents are unaffordable. Real estate sky high
It all depends on what you are looking for the the area in which you choose to live. You can still find affordable living in the suburbs
Hi just found your channel thanks for sharing. Wanted to know which areas in Portland to be considered Safe and walkable? Thank from Mass.
What about tornadoes and things like that and the job market for customer service or call center or work from home jobs?
Tons of work from home jobs available - We don't have tornadoes in this neck of the woods.
great video 👍
Thanks
Are the homeless properly being guided in a better direction their? I saw a news cast and it may have exaggerated the problem.

What makes the tap water more drinkable than other cities?
Good Question, we get spring water from the mountains
Do you know any not scam sites that let you find house for rent listing in portland? Also I thought I saw news on high lead in water recently 😭
I would go directly through property management companies, such as Dwell 😀
Yessss I did know this
I was from the north Idaho area and went to portland a lot for vacation and to visit my family that lives there. Is it really that much different than what I experienced in the early 2000s?
Yes it is! Portland has grown so much over the last 1 years, its crazy for me to see and I live here.
Yes indeed. It's full of homeless people.
which city do you think is better to live, Portland or Seattle ?
Both are great cities but of course I’m going to say Portland!
Neither. The west coast is unaffordable.

Hi Trisha, if you have time could you speak to the person who wrote the long comment on the crime? I am so very worried about this…..thanks!
Do you live in Portland??? There are homeless everywhere and crime is up.
I do live in Portland and yes crime is up but to say everyone is experincing this would be incorrect.
Plenty of UA-cam videos to detail
Thanks for your response 😊 I am moving to Portland in one week! I really want to be excited and not have to worry. So that’s what I am going to do!
