Time for a X-Fan's little rant: X-Men Apocalypse was the point in where the movies REALLY wanted to compete with the MCU with their scale, and with Bryan Singer's issues coming to the surface at this time, he basically couldn't handle doing it and left periodically during production. Plus, it didn't make as much as DOFP, with 400 mill compared to it's 700 mill. Apocalypse displayed here... Is... Awful, his appearance, and the way his plan is conveyed, even Oscar Isaac hated the role, and I'm so glad Marvel got him to be Moon Knight. The new younger version of the cast is, fine I guess. Tye Sheridan's Cyclops is... um there, Kodi Smith McPhee's Nightcrawler is pretty good. Alexandra Shipp's Storm is okay? Sophie Turner's Jean isn't that good... It (and nearly everyone else) gets worse in Dark Phoenix... Also hi Jubilee... Bye Jubilee! This is where the holes in the timeline get wider. It's 20 years since First Class, and no one has aged, since we know they HAVE to turn into their original timeline actors. Characters have new ages, drastically different personalities, yet have some of their original trilogy cues (Nightcrawler still ritually scars himself while dressing like Thriller Michael Jackson). Oh, that thing with Magneto flip flopping... Yeah that's a thing that constantly happens in these (it happens in the comics, but no that close together). Storm was born with her white hair, was born in New York, but raised in Cairo, but spent most of her adulthood in Kenya, so yeah, she's always gonna be depicted with an accent... Except the movies. Halle Berry used one in the first movie in alternate scenes, but it was removed. In the comics, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were a retcon to be Magneto's children in the 80's, they've been retconned every so often since then, it's a whole thing. I would go on about Archangel dying in a plane crash, and Psylocke just walking off the battle's aftermath, but that alone says enough lol One big positive is that the team had near comic accurate versions of their most famous costumes... But I take it back a bit because we never see them again and get a very boring version of the blue and yellow X jumpsuits.
You can't get too caught up in continuity errors in this movie. This is basically a brand new time-line that was created by new events in the past that happened in Days of Future Past. You can't really think of this as a prequel any more. It's like the new Star Trek movies. They were starts of an entirely different time-line
@The Cracked Lenses I really just try to decompress when watching movies. If it's fun, I like it. I really don't look deep into screenwriting. I am not a critic. I just like watching movies. If it entertains, I don't mind a few liberties being taken in the writing. Just the way I watch. And obviously that's the way they write. Because dummies like me keep watching. Lol. Every one has their own opinions and own ways of watching a movie
one thing is worth mentioning Wanda is also Magneto's daughters. Only reason shes not yet in the MCU is cuz at the time of filming Fox wasn't part of Disney/Marvel yet
@@Boibluu they've swapped enough times between Magneto, the Whizzer, the High Evolutionary, some random gypsy that fans really don't care and just go with Magneto to be done with that mess.
When the MCU became popular, and they couldn't use the backstory, The comics retconned the twins to fit the MCU better, removing Magento as their parents years ago.
The X-Men/Magneto vs Apocalypse battles in the old 90s X-Men cartoon were always my favorite part about that series. Those fights were epic! And this film made me want to go back and re-live those moments.
Storm is from Africa in the comics as well. I don’t remember exactly what country though. Also this movie and dark Phoenix are in a different timeline from the original movies so it’s best to forget about them in a way so the timeline doesn’t get confusing
I'd love to see you show Jen some of the animated X-Men series so she can see what fans grew up with....they also did a great job with the Dark Phoenix saga
I enjoy this movie, but it's a film with a lot of errors. Unfortunately, there seems to have been no real long term planning for the X-Men movies and that's my biggest problem. The performances in this film are decent, with James MacAvoy and Michael Fassbender killing it as usual. part of the problem with the X films always seems to be the writers and producers wanting to lean very heavily on the characters that are popular in the comics instead of having faith they can take characters from the X-Men mythos and flesh them out in such a way they'll be popular. I also think the casting suffers in several places. Jennifer Lawrence has great range, but she should never have been cast as Mystique. Mystique should always look vaguely sinister and Lawrence just ends up looking like a smurf. Nicholas Holt is still just awful as Hank McCoy. If he weighed about 40 lbs more, he'd come closer to looking like the Beast, but he just doesn't come off as a super-genius who unfortunately is big, blue and furry to me. Alexandra Shipp was a good choice for a younger Storm, so I've no complaints there. Jean and Scott are criminally mishandled. Scott is a natural leader and Tye Sheridan doesn't give that impression. It seems like the writers decided to treat him like Spider-man and have him a bullied kid in school, but that's not Scott. Similarly, having the other students be scared of Jean makes no sense. It's a development from out of left field and it strikes me as out of character. As always, being a longtime comic fan works against me when watching these films because, while I understand the filmmakers can't just duplicate the stories from the comics, I feel in many cases they don't grasp the core personalities of the characters they're writing about.
I agree with most of that.. except for the Jean Grey point. I think a girl that could read your mind would be pretty scary, and would definitely push other kids away.
You want to see a movie with a lot of errors?? Watch Thor and Thor 2. Iron Man 2 and even Iron Man 3. At least Apocalypse has a few great and timeless scenes. The opening scene in Egypt is awesome. When Magneto loses his family, that's amazing, especially his acting. Quicksilvers scene is amazing but so is the scene where Apocalypse takes control of Cerebro. It gives me chills every time. I cant say I remember or want to relive that many scenes in the MCU
I love when Apocalypse tells magneto “come and see”. From the Bible. “….and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.”
Apocalypse in this movie is so underutilized compared to his comics counterpart. I really hope he’s done better in the MCU both in terms of character and appearance
Do you really think your movie-going experience would be better if we saw Apocalyse go full Apocalypse?? It would get old IMO. The great scenes we do have in this movie never get old. I love watching the opening sequence in Egypt. I love Fassbenders acting when he grieves for his family. I love how chilling it is when Apocalypse takes control of Cerebro. I love the Quicksilver scene that follows. I love the more accurate and respectful Weapon X scene. I could go on and on. This is why I cant understand the hatred for Apocalypse
When it comes to the continuity issues I believe days of future past was supposed to be a reset of the franchise and they are insinuating that things happen differently because of the days of future past events
in my opinion, the TV Series "Legion" and "The Gifted" are worth watching too, since they explore more of the Mutant world instead of focusing on the main we already met
my theory with how parts of this movie and dark phoenix differ from the original trilogy is because wolverine's changes to the timeline created a ripple effect and changed other things. i'm going with the logic of time travel from the flashpoint comic and animated movie (which i'd love to see you and jen react to some of the dc animated movies) also, so glad holden is also a fan of john mullaney! saw him do a show in philly back in october
@@A_T88 I guess it's not just that it's different but that there's no reliable correlation between the two in terms of when people are born and the like (for instance Angel), which is not what people expect but really neither way is more realistic. Plus of course in the comics themselves time doesn't work that way given that most of the heroes have been active for more than 50 years without aging much.
I heard that there was supposed to be a 2 part phoenix saga movie. In which it was explained that at the time of her parents death Jean was imbued with a little aspect of the phoenix force. Which explains jean using it in X-men:Apocalypse and why it was attracted to her in the space shuttle in dark phoenix.
I’d LOVE a rewatch of them! The My Friend was a lot of people reacting and now that she’s got more of a feel for the lore, I’d love Logan with just you two
The Wolverine "trilogy" must be something really different be it with or without context so I do think there's value in rewatching them. also, gotta love Holden's expression when Jen said he wanted to see the origins movie but to be fair, it does give value, specially for Deadpool
The dynamic between him and Sabertooth is awesome, it's just everything else about that movie that sucks. Deadpool was just the cherry on top of the shit sandwich at the end lol.
@@TwistedReality13 hahaha, I forgot about that dynamic, yeah, it is cool, as for the Deadpool, that's exactly why I think it is important for context: because of the rotten cherry of top that it was in that movie haha
lol. It was so funny. I was telling people he was not quicksilver. Feige will 100% reboot x men but no people were swearing on their mother he was quicksilver from x men. Its their fault imo.
Storm always had a accent. Halle Berry attempted to have one at first. You can see how she jumps in and out of it. Lines like "at least I've chosen a side" is clearly her trying to do the accent. But eventually she just dropped it altogether because it was already inconsistent.
Some of Jen's questions about inconsistency with the earlier trilogy are explained by the fact that Days of Future Past rebooted the timeline. So from the 1970s onward, many things didn't occur as we originally saw them in X1-X3. Yes in X1-X3 there wasn't any prior relationship between Mystique and Charles That's why she didn't have any problems rigging Cerebro to poison him. The whole childhood friendship was a new thing introduced in First Class.
“So you got another x men movie for me” “Yes sir i do. And i was thinking of having magneto be a villain in this one” “Oh really but didn’t the end of days of future past convince him give up being bad?” “Yeah so i figured we can just kill his family to make him bad again” “Well ok then. Hopefully we don’t have to keep doing this and he is able to retire in peace”
It still bugs the hell out of me that they swapped the Summers brothers, Scott is supposed to be the older brother, hopefully when they join the MCU they correct everything. I am curious to see what Jens thoughts will be of the next movie, will she like it when everyone else hated it, cant wait to find out.
Yes I’d love to see y’all rewatch the films now with Jen having seen the prior films n knowing these characters, I’d like to see how her view on them has changed now😀👍🏽
It always makes me chuckle when I see everyone's attitude towards Eric at the end of the movie. The man killed millions around the world, and Charles is like: "See you around, old friend." Also, for what reason did Mystique tell Storm, a complete stranger, who just changed sides, Quicksilver's secret?
I really do love the outfits at the end by far my favourite X-Men movie outfits unfortunately the next movie really downgraded them lol. The movie itself i don't really care for but at least it had some good scenes.
So, during the last couple videos I watched of “my girlfriend watches“ you guys had called out people that were watching your videos and not subscribing. I had been one of those people for about a year. I started watching “my friend watches” oh a while back and fell in love with these videos. It’s funny because obviously I’ve never met any of you guys but I feel like you’re my UA-cam friends. So I decided to subscribe to the channel and I’ll have you know this is the first channel I’ve subscribed to! After watching the apocalypse review I wanted to mention that Halle Berry used an African accent in the first X-men. I believe it didn’t go over well so she dropped it in X2 and X3. Alexandra shipp having an accent was meant to correct that moving forward. I believe the first trilogy timeline still happens but the events of days of future past created a separate timeline where the younger X-men cast are able to have a different future. So even though apocalypse takes place before the first trilogy the younger cast won’t necessarily go through what happens in those movies? Anyway, keep up the awesome videos! I look forward to watching the Dark Phoenix review!
I was at the Stan Lee panel at San Diego Comic Con in 2015 and Stan said that this was his favorite cameo but could not say why at the time. It was clearly because it is the only one that also has his wife, Joan, in it.
In the first X-men movie storm had a bit of an accent but not very thick. It’s been said Halle berry couldn’t really get the accent figured out and they just decided to cut it. I believe Brian singer mentions it in the X2 commentary.
For what it's worth, I think that, given Jen's reaction (or lack thereof) when you were reminding her of "Logan", it'd definitely be worth a re-watch. Even if only to see the change in impact now that she's presumably grown more attached to the characters than she might have been on first watch.
The wolverine thing was not a continuity issue. Wolverine had lost his memory regarding his escape from the weapon x project in between him escaping and the first x-men movie.
The film was made on $175 million dollar budget and $500 million dollars at the box office, but recieved mixed reviews by Critics, as they complained about the complicated plot, lack of character development, the length of the movie, 145 minutes, and said that Oscar Isaac was miscast at the villain, but praised the VFX
Even though Jenn has already seen Origins, Wolverine, and Logan, I think you should do them again after this anyway. That way she actually knows who the characters are and has a connection to them, rather than going in blind to that series of movies. It doesn't have to be a "first time" video, but maybe a "My Girlfriend re-watches ____" I would love to have her renewed perspective on those movies after having watched the rest.
Will you guys be watching the new mutants as a part of this series? I know a lot of people arent that big of fans of it but I personally love it and would love to see you guys watch it.
I really liked it. It has issues all the delays because of the studio and then theaters closing, and I think if they had just gone the Logan route and went R rated and were able to really go crazy it would have helped. All that aside though it’s still a fun movie that kept me interested and that’s all I look for.
I really think Jen and Holden don't understand that these movies are not prequels to the original trilogy. This is a new timeline that was created because of Days of Future Past. Don't get me wrong, the X-Men movies have a ton of continuity issues, but say Jean meeting Wolverine earlier isn't one of them.
Honestly the timeline errors started at First Class, considering Emma Frost is an adult in it, but Origins has a more age accurate version of the character, who's kidnapped with the other mutants used for that movie's "Deadpool".
@@War624 That's far from the biggest continuity error in First Class, Xavier is paralysed in the 60's but then appears walking again in 1986 (X-Men: The Last Stand), it is said in the original trilogy that Erik helped built Cerebro but it is shown to be built by Hank McCoy in First Class etc. I think that was because First Class was supposed to be a reboot until they decided it's a prequel. It's a mess.
@@Wolfer1OOO Yeah, Holden mentioned the timeline change very briefly, I didn't catch it. It's just that he initially said those were continuity errors.
I totally agree Jenn, Quicksilver is badass! I don’t think the side characters get enough love. It was awesome to see Nightcrawler as a teen. That actor did a great job!
I don't think that the helmet is made of adamantium. Wasn't it made from the same metals that Cerebro was made out of? I believe it was something like that, but I don't feel like rewatching the movies to find out.
@@user-dz6fy6qv2l according to this universe, it was a gift from the Russians to Sebastian Shaw before Magneto acquired it. There are no further details about it's composition. But given that the aforementioned is true, we can safely assume the helmet is NOT adamantium.
I am glad Jenn pointed out Alex and Scott's age. That bugged me the most in these timelines. In the comics Scott was the original X-Men group that Xavier recruited. Even in the comics Scott is a bit older than Alex and Alex isn't really introduced until later on.
Personally, I have a great time whenever I watch the wolverine, I know the 3rd act is a bit off but overall I think its a very good movie, which dwells on the effect of wolverines past actions. From where he saved the life of the silver samurai when he was in the army to when he took the life of someone he loved to save everyone else.
@@chand911 yeah movie Apocalypse is so uninteresting. He's just a generic villain who wants to take over the world. He's not fleshed out and his design isn't good
Apocalypse is the literal definition of a one-dimensional villain. He's got some cool powers and stuff, he's not the worst but certainly not the best either. Worst comic movie villain probably goes to the dark elf dude from Thor: The Dark World
if they did things right, Havok should not have died in that blast because of the nature of his powers. He specializes in absorbing cosmic energy, so he's immune to it, and releases it as plasma beams, which he's immune to too he's also immune to Cyclops' blasts, which is a 3rd energy type resistance I read he absorbed also Gamma energy, in the comics and he has radiation and heat immunity I think it is safe to assume he has absorbption/resistance over every type of energy, including the one generating that huge explosion Add the fact that he PASSIVELY absorbs energy (so even without thinking on doing so) and having him dead in that "big boom" is quite a bad scripted fact
I keep forgetting that Holden isn't really a comic fan so he generally does not know the facts about things that pop up in the movies. I'm sitting here answering Jens questions like she can hear me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
James McAvoy actually shaved his head in the first movie because for some reason he thought he was playing bald Xavier. They told him they wanted him to play a younger professor full of hair, so they made him wear a wig in the first movie till it grew back.
I don't really watch the "my friend watches" videos. Don't personally vibe much with your friends opinions and jokes most of the time, so for me it would be amazing if you rewatched the wolverine movies with Jen!
Holden don't forget that Magneto is a Master at not just moving Metal but also Moving People through their Heart/Emotions...The Whole X-Men World/Universe is basically Professor X and Magneto Playing Live Action Chess with the Mutants as the pieces and the world is the board
The hate comes from Jennifer Lawrence phoning her performance in starting with this movie, along with Mystique being such a focus, most didn’t like that as it is such a departure from the source material. Apocalypse and his power were under represented along with his costume looking really awkward. So that’s hate from the diehard fans of these characters. Critics felt the plot was really boring and not really well written. Generic villain wants to destroy the world plot. So this movie got it from both sides.
I don't like it because First Class and Days of Future Past had very good plots surrounding the treatment of mutants and it felt different with their approaches. The antagonists were used to enhance the plot and the movies were not centered around the final boss battles. An example of the journey being more interesting than the destination especially with the relationship between Charles and Erik. However with Apocalypse it feels like nothing substantial really happens. The Apocalypse character in this movie is very uninteresting. He's just a bad guy who wants to take over the world and the X Men team up to fight him. He isn't fleshed out at all and it feels like Oscar Issac is phoning it in. Michael Fassbender is again fantastic as Magneto but it really feels like he doesn't do anything. He should've been continuing his struggle against humans instead of the writers giving him a family, just for them to quickly die to make him bad again. In hindsight I don't think this movie needed to happen as Days of Future's Past had a good ending and Apocalypse is a very stale follow up. And this is coming from someone who didn't read X Men comics and got into the movies because of First Class
The worst part of the film is that it single-handedly ruins the mutant-human dynamic from previous films by having one mutant destroy entire cities and kill probably millions or tens of millions of people. At that point there is no argument in favour of not registering mutants if even one could cause that much destruction, really muddies the nuance of the civil rights metaphor of the X-Men. Also the villain is lame AF, half the actors phoned it in, and Magneto (best thing in previous movies) is a complete flip flop whose character development is ruined.
(In the comics) Storm is actually from Kenia, his father is from the US, and she lived part of her childhood in Egypt. She's been Black Panther's wife. Hope to see a connection between her and Wakanda in the MCU's X Men.
Mystique isnt really that important, its only in the movies and because shes played by Jennifer Lawrence is she important at all--in comics she is basically a mid range villian/spmetimes ally but never really much of a main character
You're running round in circles trying to work out whats canon and what's not with these. But most say that the events of DOFP change the course of history, which is why things are different moving forward with the younger cast, making the trilogy irrelevant.
So I as well as you guys all thought Moira Mactaggert was a normal human until I got into the comics. Fun fact, she is actually a mutant and has the ability to essentially reincarnate herself, and I love how they nodded to this by how the mentioned she looks the same In this movie. Also, where were the sexual jokes this video Holden? I missed them so much. But hey, you talked to your dogs like I exactly do!!!!
Wasn’t crazy about this movie but still appreciated getting to see Sophie Turner and Jubilee and I feel some of the special effects were pretty cool especially when it comes to Apocalypse
that's actually not how Mystique's costume looks in comics at all - they just gave her an X-Men outfit with white instead of yellow also, gotta love how it's yet another movie that completely fucks up Cyclops' power - his optic blasts don't set things on fire (like the tree) - there's no heat to them and it pisses me off to no end when people just think it's like Superman's power
*X-Men: Apocalypse* , *X-Men: Dark Phoenix* and *Fantastic Four (2015)* are the only movies I can think of I didn't go and watch at the theatre due to the negative reviews...

I would go on about Archangel dying in a plane crash, and Psylocke just walking off the battle's aftermath, but that alone says enough lol
One big positive is that the team had near comic accurate versions of their most famous costumes... But I take it back a bit because we never see them again and get a very boring version of the blue and yellow X jumpsuits.
I cant believe they did Angel dirty twice. But yea. I hated this movie. Apocalypse is so short. I dont know why that bothers me so much lol
@@dericplummer9272 No, it really should, the shortest Apocalypse had ever been was like in X-Men Legends 2, and he's around over 6 feet.
I agree 100%. Couldn't have said it better.
My biggest complaint is that they HAD the suits at the end and just...went to those horrible suits in Dark Phoenix. Ugh.
Fox sucked.
This. All of this!
You can't get too caught up in continuity errors in this movie. This is basically a brand new time-line that was created by new events in the past that happened in Days of Future Past. You can't really think of this as a prequel any more. It's like the new Star Trek movies. They were starts of an entirely different time-line

@@chand911 ok ...good for you. Hope you can enjoy movies that way. By being overly critical

I would also probably correct myself and say they aren't actually errors ...because of the new time-line. They are, now, just new occurrences.
Technically wanda and pietro aren't erik's children
@@Boibluu they've swapped enough times between Magneto, the Whizzer, the High Evolutionary, some random gypsy that fans really don't care and just go with Magneto to be done with that mess.

16:14 "They're trying to keep it comic accurate."
It's a shame they didn't keep her character comic accurate.
I like how Holden's dogs surround him as soon as he opens his bag of chips lol
I love when Apocalypse tells magneto “come and see”. From the Bible. “….and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.”
Creepy. I totally missed that
Loved the out of nowhere "I don't think so" from Raiden in the first Mortal Kombat movie when Storm shows up towards the middle of the video lmao
Haven't seen legion but Dan Stevens was great in "apostle" (Netflix horror film by the guy who did the raid) so I'm sure he's great in legion aswell
I would love if they continued the mutant universe with Legion.
OMG. Those are a blast from the past. But. Should they watch them Before or After the New Mutants?
Sucks that "The Gifted" only got 2 seasons
@@3Kings_Industries They're both their own shows, separate from the movies. You can watch them whenever.
Holden’s amazement that Jen mentioned Silver Surfer was a highlight
my theory with how parts of this movie and dark phoenix differ from the original trilogy is because wolverine's changes to the timeline created a ripple effect and changed other things. i'm going with the logic of time travel from the flashpoint comic and animated movie (which i'd love to see you and jen react to some of the dc animated movies)
also, so glad holden is also a fan of john mullaney! saw him do a show in philly back in october
Basically yes. It’s simply a different timeline.
Well I thought that was the exact point that movie that they changed the timeline
Yeah this is the "new future". Though Jean goes crazy decades before she's supposed to and is fine in DoFP when Wolverine wakes up.
I agree, but in the end , Logan is the only great movie among them. The other wolvie movies are a bit meh IMO.

Lol when Jen says she'd like to rewatch Wolverine Origins you can see the pain in Holden's face... I feel you, man :D
After listening to the discussion after the movie; her reaction to Dark Phoenix is definitely going to be interesting.
It was unnecessary in a very uneven movie, but all the same, seeing Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine go berserk is always glorious.

The Power Rangers theme being played each time when they showed up was very funny yet gold! 😂
Even though Jenn has already seen Origins, Wolverine, and Logan, I think you should do them again after this anyway. That way she actually knows who the characters are and has a connection to them, rather than going in blind to that series of movies.
It doesn't have to be a "first time" video, but maybe a "My Girlfriend re-watches ____"
I would love to have her renewed perspective on those movies after having watched the rest.
I think Jen forgot, but we already faced the event that leads Mystique to being bad: it was "Days of Future Past" main focus...
Yep. They’re not prequels. It’s a different timeline
You don't think they understand the exact thing they mention in this very video? :')
@@Wolfer1OOO Yeah, Holden mentioned the timeline change very briefly, I didn't catch it. It's just that he initially said those were continuity errors.

I've never understood how telepaths can't read Magneto's mind with his helmet, but they can read Wolverine's mind with an adamantium skull...
I don't think that the helmet is made of adamantium. Wasn't it made from the same metals that Cerebro was made out of? I believe it was something like that, but I don't feel like rewatching the movies to find out.

Mystique and quicksilver being two of her favorites, can’t wait for dark Phoenix :)

@@chand911 yeah movie Apocalypse is so uninteresting. He's just a generic villain who wants to take over the world. He's not fleshed out and his design isn't good
Cartoon Apocalypse was better. Sad to say.
Apocalypse is the literal definition of a one-dimensional villain. He's got some cool powers and stuff, he's not the worst but certainly not the best either. Worst comic movie villain probably goes to the dark elf dude from Thor: The Dark World
@@mikehunt69981 I'd go with Mr Freeze in Batman & Robin.
if they did things right, Havok should not have died in that blast because of the nature of his powers.
He specializes in absorbing cosmic energy, so he's immune to it, and releases it as plasma beams, which he's immune to too
he's also immune to Cyclops' blasts, which is a 3rd energy type resistance
I read he absorbed also Gamma energy, in the comics and he has radiation and heat immunity
I think it is safe to assume he has absorbption/resistance over every type of energy, including the one generating that huge explosion
Add the fact that he PASSIVELY absorbs energy (so even without thinking on doing so) and having him dead in that "big boom" is quite a bad scripted fact
I'm really glad Jen enjoyed this movie, I quite like it as well!
The actor of Alex Summers is Lucas Till, who plays MacGyver in the rebooted show
I don't really watch the "my friend watches" videos.
After 6 years, I still don't get the hate for this movie
Got her before she was a big name, so they took advantage and pushes her front and center, even when she shouldn't be.
They rode that Hunger Games train until the tracks went out
Yes, in the comics Storm grew up as an orphan on the streets of Cairo, Egypt.
I would be interested in watching rewatches with the added context of the previous movies to get her informed thoughts and opinions.

I would rewatch all 3 because with the context of these movies, I think she’d feel different about them.
Wasn’t crazy about this movie but still appreciated getting to see Sophie Turner and Jubilee and I feel some of the special effects were pretty cool especially when it comes to Apocalypse
that's actually not how Mystique's costume looks in comics at all - they just gave her an X-Men outfit with white instead of yellow
also, gotta love how it's yet another movie that completely fucks up Cyclops' power - his optic blasts don't set things on fire (like the tree) - there's no heat to them and it pisses me off to no end when people just think it's like Superman's power
