If you know how to level up game stats, any Final Fantasy Tactics character, except monsters, can reach maximum Stats. If your Cloud is rubbish, it's because you did the wrong Leveling, with the wrong classes and what happened. Classes influence Status gains as you evolve. Monk: Increases HP Mime: Physycal ATK B. Mage: M. ATK (from what I remember) ... So if you built the Cloud wrong, it will be weak. But building it is not easy. because to evolve well, you will have: 1) Focus on a class. 2)Fall into Trap LVL Down until you reach 1. 3) Reach LVL 99 as a character using that class at least 9 times (I don't remember exactly how many times) or more, for EACH INDIVIDUAL ATTRIBUTE. My Cloud had 999 HP, 99 SPD and 99 Phisycal ATK. It was always First Turn and had maximum damage with the weakest sword. Remembering that skills that increase Status contribute to permanent Leveling. For every 10 points buffed, the status increases by 1. - This helps a lot in the process, but it doesn't work with all attributes. with SPD and Phisycal ATK it works...If I'm not mistaken, the Mediator's Talk Skills and the bards' songs help too. But that's basically it. The intention of the video was good, but there is much more behind the FFT mechanics that few people imagine.
Lol. I know this game quite well and repeating everyone having max stats for every single video is stale and boring. I've done solo challenges, Got 5 Stars on all the Rendezvous missions, solo 5 stars on all the Rendezvous missions. Cloud's base is just weak compared to nearly everything else. Materia Blade for Limits, charge time is long, and the weapon does weak damage. I'm pretty sure I know FFT mechanics, made videos showing never before seen glitches, Chocobo riding mechanics and did a lot of challenges. Thanks though
Can you explain deleveling and releveling? Do you have a video that explains that? I only knew of deleveling to keep characters from outpacing the available equipment in the store.
Pretty much take a character but have them as a bard or chemist since they have bad stats and take them to a dengenrator trap and level down. Then level them up again as a class with superior stats like ninja, monk and so on. You will enjoy some nice increased permanent stat growth. I don't have a video on it yet.
@@J7Jase I found out having time magic as his secondary ability Makes his limit ability way more viable since you're able to use stop, and along with swiftness he could arguably be a really good support mage

I wonder if the stats of Orlandu and Cloud should've been swapped, like Orlandu is the Thunder God but he's an old man, and his "magical" sword abilities are strong enough, whereas Cloud in Advent Children could jump skyscraper heights (in theory with the Dragoon's move ability) and he was cutting pieces of buildings that Sephiroth flung at him like they were made out of butter. Cloud should've hit like a truck and have Haste as a default, oh well. Love your build ideas, he DEFINITELY needs molly-coddling to make him viable at all in FFT.
This is a great idea. And totally I wish Cloud was just better since this game did come after 7 and he was a guest character and all that hype for him just went down the drain when you got him lol. Thanks again for the awesome comment!
why not dual wiled with the materia blade in the second slot? i mean the first sword hit's pretty hi. That is how i had it together with short charge; he also good as a summoner with short charge and his limits and hi evasion, but as a mage is more challenging.
I mean sure but his limits I noticed were way too slow without Swiftness and Moonblade has way more weapon attack. Being a magic user is good too but anyone can be a summoner and in WOTL his MA isn't as high as in the ps1 version
I tampered with Cloud in FFTPatcher in my most recent playthrough. +1 base move on Soldier job class All Limit skills are instant cast. If this proves to be too broken, I will give the high tier ones a mana cost. I adjusted all of Cloud's stat growth to be equal to Cid's, and then I gave him a little extra HP and matched a Black Mage's MA/MP. In addition to what Soldier already can equip, I added all women's accessories, Katanas, Knight Swords, Rods, Robes, Shields. I buffed the Materia Blade to 22 WA, and 25% Block. I wanted to make it scale just like a pole, but couldn't figure it out (if someone knows how you would be the MVP). I gave Cloud the following innate abilities to top it off: Parry, Arcane Strength, Attack Boost, and Safeguard. Time will tell if this is truly busted or not lol.
@@J7Jase After much trial and error, I basically ended up redesigning all of Cloud's moves from the ground up. As far as how they scale, the targeting, etc. Basically giving him 50/50 physical and magic attacks, making the strongest ones require a charge up. And added Curaga, Shout, Fira/ga, Blizzara/aga, and thundara/aga to his base job. He feels extremely solid and unique now!
Cloud should've been allowed to equip the Female Only Accessories, main the Tyran Rouge. That would've balanced the trade off of him being locked to the Materia Blade for his Limits but nope.
That would have helped big time. They should also have lowered the charge time for his limits , increase his speed slightly, let him equip knight swords and lastly his base move should be 4. Just so we can get more variety and build potential for him.
If you're willing to forgo the Ribbon, you could make him a Dark Knight, make Limit your secondary command, and then dual wield something like Chaos Blade/Materia Blade. Alternatively, you could hack Materia Blade to do Advent Children style stuff. Maybe give it an attack of 40 and a weapon guard of 99 to mimic all that deflecting of everything Cloud does.
Thanks so much. I tried to replicate part of that audio again but it could never sound as good. There was a slight pause because my neighbor's dog was barking haha.
A bit of fun thing you can do for those that play with save editors you can level a behemoth to level 20-30 and then turn it into cloud he will have a ton of magickal power and with a brigands glove he will fire brave slash, cross cutter, finish touch and meteorain very quickly with swiftness and will hit like an mfing truck. If you want something more legit you must level him all the way as onion knight or mimic otherwise his stats will suck. I recommend doing the behemoth stuff with lioneditor and you will have a fully functional cloud. If you want extra cheese set him as a female and give him tynar rouge, he will solo most encounters.
@@J7Jase That was my hunch 😱 I knew he looked like Sephiroth the first time I ever played FF Tactics!!! Those long silvery white locks and that distinctive miserably cool, yet so Sephiroth like face.
I mean, I agree that I find him extremely useless in FFT, and maybe I'm just new to this channel, but doesn't just turning him into a beat stick kind of defeat the point of using his Soldier class? If you were going to make a build for Cloud, you'd think you'd work around... y'know... CLOUD. Like I could sort of understand if you were trying to find a happy medium in that you gave him Dual Wield and had one weapon be the Moonblade for major damage (you did like 800+ damage in one hit from level grinding after all), could you just give him his Materia Blade for his second weapon? So he can still use his skills if he can't reach the foe? (Alternatively putting Materia in slot one if it needs to be there for the sake of Limit requirements?) I just don't see the point in using him in his Soldier class if you aren't going to use him as a Soldier. Turn him into a Knight or a Ninja or something if that's the case.

I remenber levelling cloud, I can say that was a bit dissapointing... Because for some reason, the most of the limits takes the magical damage and not the phisical damage, You and I, and the rest of the world knows, that cloud's magical damage sucks. Thats why I used the support ability to increse the magical damage, however. That just allowed me to use cross-slash and bravery, cause the other ones takes an eternity to use. In normal battles Finishing touch is the only limit that really works lol.
