From an outside perspective as a distant observer of the Elmdor fight (on PS1), Ramza and his goons storm the castle, kill off his two lady friends, then they break his legs (speed), reduce his mind and magic to nothing (MA), break his arms (PA), insult him to lose all hope and Bravery, and then someone begins to rip all his clothes off of his back, rendering him completely naked. Seriously, to get the Genji gear + Masamune, Ramza orders his troops to literally rape the man just for his stuff 😂
Lol. The detailed analysis of what really happens lol. But I will argue that this isn't the real Elmdore as this one is just a resurrected zombie lol so we aren't doing anything bad I say lol. But yeah you pretty much summarized how we get his equipment lol
yuh and the real unundead elmdor was probably a piece of shit to begin with to even entertain, let alone follow through with, an alliance with you know... literal demons. 🎊🎊🎊 so rape away i say. 🎊🎊🎊
The Genji gear is still my favorite equipment in the game even after all these years, I remember spending hours upon hours trying to steal the whole set from Elmdor. And even now (I don't play for optimization, I play for theme) My favorite character always wears the Genji.
Its such an epic set. It took me nearly three hours my first time stealing it. I had no idea how compatibility worked or about monk and attack boost and etc. In short my chances were low and bad RNG on my side lol. Good memories though
I tip for making the stealing process easier, just create a Female monk with the Sagittarius sign, attack up and steal, she will have optimal stealing chances
For those who don't know, in the 10:40 map, there is a chance to battle ninjas, and they can throw all the best/legendary ultra rare weapons in the game, incuding chaos blade, Chirijiraden... So you just need to keep them in a position where they can only attack you by throwing and u need to have the "CATCH" skill.
Thanks I actually made a video guide on how to get those weapons. However, you can still go back to get them. These items in this video are all one time deals in nearly all cases.
Great stuff, I almost forgot about the faith rod. Really takes me back to treasure hunting back in the day. The battle with Elmdor and trying to get Escutcheon 2 could be such a huge pain but getting all those items were worth it.
They really were and was a cool part of the game with such rare items. Good times of playing it back in the day and not understanding on how to be immune to Vampire and Stop Bracelet lol
So in FFT PS1 you can get a bunch of black garb and ninja gear from random encounters. Before the rooftop battle if you grind up a few levels a ninja wearing black garb will appear. By grinding these and stealing them you will get a full immune to stop team allowing you to actually win the rooftop battle, which is normally unbeatable and intended to be lost.
In Yugue Woods this also can work in War of the Lions as well. This isn't a rare item though and even though it is a hard fight there are ways to win the battle without this method. Its good to be faster than the enemy units.
My first time through tactics I was a preteen and upon encountering elmdoor I saw his equipment and immediately reset to make a build to strip him down. Good times
11:40 escutcheon 2 nelveska temple treasure finder on rafa with thief/item for best chance. Don't be overleveled. Complete fort bessellet, recruiting Orlando. Also have beuwolf and reis (dragon form). Personal notes as I completed this: Also thank you Jace for all the tremendous hard work here 🙏
Fun fact, in the ps one version...if you recruit Orlandu and he is over a certain level 50-70 im not certain on the particulars....he will come equipped in maximillian armor!!
I love that you added the tidbit about getting Generics and renaming them won't work for Tynar Rouge. I'm sure some people that dismissed them would try!
Thanks so much for watching the whole video up until that point lol. This video took me a while to create as capturing all relevant footage and putting it together took so long. Five stars ✨✨✨✨✨
We talked about female Monks the other day and what makes them just absolutely amazing healers. Rouge+Ribbon is worth way more than anything that buffs HP or PA and I can't recommend it enough. Using a female Monk with this setup will let you run 4 other heavy PA units with no other magic without fear of having an inability to heal effectively. Add on top that you can give our little lady Shirahadori (or Blade Grasp) and/or Mana Font/Mana Shield on top of that, means you can keep Dual Wield and keep the anti-homies off your homies effectively while moving to pick your down homies up. Mana Font is my least preferred method, as I try to keep at least Move+2 (or better yet +3) on whoever I have running heals. But it's all just flavor.
Yeah on monks I do like the extra move. Honestly to me that one move is a huge difference and mobility to me is the most underrated stat. I've been working on some other videos behind the scenes and I go over how the females are just so solid and hot take even outperform or a better choice than Orlandeau in a few of these situations.
To make treasure hunting easier, besides further lowering Rapha's brave, I made her into a ninja and equip septieme (the perfume with haste and invisible) and other speed gears such as thief's hat etc.. She'll get more turns due to ninja's speed and haste, can move better and won't be targeted by enemies.
It depends where you are at. I just have her mount a Chocobo in Midlight's Deep and have her dismount it for items. Even a ninjas mobility won't have her jumping down in several of those levels tbh
Seeing you steeling the Genji set makes me so jealous. And I'm surprised by how rare the Lip Rouge was, and how lucky i was to randomly set foot on a town on Cancer 1 lol
Yeah the PS1 is very cool in that regard that we get to steal that item. too bad it was taken out in WOTL. That happened in your playthrough? Talk about perfect timing lol nice
Im surprised you never mentioned the stone gun, i do not know if its available in the other versions but in the PS1 game i only had 1 opportunity in a very rare battle in the mountain stage by the robot stage, and there were a bunch of monks
Its rare but its not truly missable. As you can also poach Dark Behemoths for it I just tried to aim for all possible unique items that are limited in quantity
Did u talk about the javelin? It's the same as the eschueon shield 2 (I'm sure I spelled it wrong.) but in the other pillar. FYI. The most powerful spear and shield are the same name as their original weakest counter parts. They share the same name as the first shield and the first spear. The left pillar has the shield and the right pillar has the javelin.
Javelin II is another rare powerful weapon from Nelveska Temple or can be caught from a level 97+ ninja's throw. Plus there are other great swords from Midnight's Deep and can steal Defender from Meliadoul or poach an elderly treant. Catching ninja throws is out of the question.
This video goes over what is completely missable not what you can get 99 of. You can get Javelin II from ninjas so there is an infinite supply of them.
Cant remember the stage but in the deep there is a stage that spawns a bunch of ninjas. If you put catch item on all your squad you can get multiple copies of the most powerful weapons in the game.
I have videos showcasing that. They are some of the most powerful weapons but they aren't completely missable. This video I made showcases every single completely missable item that you can no longer get after a certain point in all version of the game
Thanks however it's not completely missable though. High level Ninjas can throw them at you the level 99 ones. This video is for every single item that once you miss out on it, it's gone forever so truly missable sadly
I wish the Tynar rogue was in the ps1 version. It was almost a game breaking item compared to other items. Put it on Agrias with euscthreon II, Excalibur and a good helm and armor with fell sword as a secondary ability and she could rival or maybe even surpass orlandeau.
Yeah I think so too. I do think she is more useful against enemies that cause a wide variety of negative status ailments though. But yeah I love both but always gotta say ladies first!
Duplication only works for weapons. And it only applies to the PS1 version of the game. I go over every single rarest missable item limited in quantity in every single version.
@J7Jase well i did call it the "weapon duplication glitch" xD Just mentioning since ps1 users have the chance to get more of all these great weapons (and shields) Either way great video i love all the rare equipment in fft so seeing it all in one vid was a lot of fun
Wouldn't the Buster Sword be considered one of a kind and hard to get also? With everything you have to do to get Cloud, then find the weapon, I remember it being a pain. Thank the heavens for the strategy guide I had for the game on PS1. Played the game and used the guide so much, it turned into a stack of papers because all the binding fell apart. Dropping it and having to reorganize it was such a pain.

One of my favorite ways to cheat, especially after beating a game normally, is to give myself what is essentially Game+ mode where I start with a all the goodies. I usually play a game on normal first before I cheat, but not always.
@@J7Jase Yep, I don't like people that cheat in multiplayer... nothing ruins an experience faster. The entire point of a game and fun is proper balance. for me... my cheating is mostly to rid myself of the parts of the game I hate like "grinding" through. Especially useless "fetch quests". I might do it once to experience that part of the story but if it's uselessly tedious... I won't hesitate to cheat. Part of the fun is just trying all the various tower configurations which means growth. Never felt like cheating in those games despite them having a "grind".
I know I am being a thorn in J7 Jase's side as well as others. You can beat the original game with only generic characters and items you can purchase at shops. An example is my ninja nightmare series on my channel. Ninja of either gender: Spell Edge. Spell Edge. Thief Hat. Black Costume. Feather Mantle. Throw. Item. Blade Grasp. Magic Defend Up. Teleport. Do not get me started at adding Math Skill as a secondary ability. I can switch out abilities depending on the battle.
Sorry, I have spent too much time here. Nice guide on the missable items. I forgot how I could take posting for granted. I did not drop everything and ran. ;)@@J7Jase
That one isn't truly missable that is why. There is no Buster Sword too. It looks more like Ultima Weapon in my opinion too. Higher level Ninjas can actually throw Materia Blade.
@@J7Jase maybe it has been so long that I’ve forgotten. I thought I’d acquired more than one through strong enemies. Thank you. Maybe it is another item that I’m confusing the Ninja Gear with.
I'm gonna test a theory. What if you power leveled your characters and possibly Delita in the beginning of the game, would the items that the enemy npcs change to better items? They're most likely unchangeable items but curious if you ever tried that
In random battles if you encounter human enemies which are quite rare can have stronger than normal equipment you can't yet buy at the shop. So I recommend enticing them or stealing.
@@J7Jase I swear I had it happen mid battle once on the PS1 version. It was a battle in the rain and I was grinding JP and I guess the battle went on for long enough. Burials Valley/Balias Swale is the map name.
Unfortunately no from my experience with trying to get them from throwing it and in guides I looked at. Although its virtually the same as Koga Blade lol just one of a kind in single player
What about Gafgarion's blood sword? I'm pretty sure that's a rare missable item? It's not very powerful or relevant late game but due to it's built in drain I like using it with aim until it's too weak to use for sustainability. Just thought I'd ask
Because you can get it as a common poach from Hydras I don't consider it truly missable. Every single item in this video in most cases is limited in quantity no matter what you do.
Hey J7Jase it is me again. This time I don't know the name of the music you used at the end of the video but I recognize it from another game. Could you fill me in on which? Thanks in advance!
@@J7Jase Ahhh yessss. When this game was the hotness and my friends and I played it, we were never sober so the tune didn't register a name. It is a core memory though!
WHAT! how could you missed Nagrarok and Javelin II when they're practically obtainable at Nelveska Temple along with Escutcheon II? not to mention that ribbon is extremely missable because only Alma has this item at the final battle.
You can obtain those items in other ways so they aren't truly missable. Javelin II can be obtained by high level Ninjas when they throw them at you. The sword can be poached. All the items I mentioned in this video aren't infinite. As for that Ribbon it's not missable. You can get 99 of these from poaching or Rendezvous and melee if on PSP multiplayer
What is Midnight Deep? Oh, says here it's the Deep Dungeon. Okey Dokey. I remember getting Escucheon then wondering why because it's not a particularly great shield.
The gameplay capture is mostly FFT WOTL. But all my information applies to all versions of the game. Play store mobile version doesn't have multiplayer sadly 👎
@@J7Jase bro, the last question, the fft wotl (mobile) have a online post game, or something like that? Multiplayer, change of items for craft or some like that (?)
This is the one gripe I have about this game, all the cool hidden characters and items you can't access until you're already in a position where you can beat the game. Cloud and Omnislash were so underwhelming after all the work you have to do to unlock them.
Small error but anyway I literally show all the clips and how to get each and every single item with my own footage. Mistakes can happen but it's not that big of a difference or deal in my opinion
@@J7Jase Yeah, I agree. I just strongly dislike the retranslation in WotL. I thought it was pretentious and that they were trying way too hard to sound Shakespearian. This is my favorite game of all time, and the fact that its translation was so jarring combined with the terrible gameplay performance in its original PSP release just ruined that version of the game for me.
Fun fact, you can get a Broadsword “II” if you walk onto the square Elidibs is standing on in the Deep Dungeon (Midlights Deep) final level. But the date must be exactly halfway through Sagittarius when you enter (Aka: Serpentarius).
The shield is the only true and real missable item. I recommend having low Bravery on that character as the lower your Bravery the higher the chances for a rare item. Hope that helps
@@J7Jase Yeah, i've seen that. I've been a "follower" of Hacktics for like many years now and one of favorite mods is JotF, it's just wacky. I thought Ninja Gear and a couple other items are worn (rarely) by enemies once your level is high enough. Is that not the case?
Sadly no. :( Just only in what I featured here.
@@J7Jase maybe it has been so long that I’ve forgotten. I thought I’d acquired more than one through strong enemies. Thank you. Maybe it is another item that I’m confusing the Ninja Gear with.
Great video! Can you add timestamps with item names? Would just help reference things faster!

3:40 LOL, I know there's an added battle where you fight an undead Algus....but what's up with this battle against 6 of him? Hahaha
A new battle in the multiplayer version of the game for War of the Lions that is.
I mostly hate how he wears Ramza's Chapter 2 and 3 armor
I didn’t know about some of these and I have been playing the game for a long time 😭
No worries it's not like all of these items are game breaking or that insane just collectors items lol

Have you ever had an encounter where the water level changed?
In mid battle? No
@@J7Jase I swear I had it happen mid battle once on the PS1 version. It was a battle in the rain and I was grinding JP and I guess the battle went on for long enough. Burials Valley/Balias Swale is the map name.
Couldn't you also get enemy Ninjas to throw Iga Blades for you to catch?
Unfortunately no from my experience with trying to get them from throwing it and in guides I looked at. Although its virtually the same as Koga Blade lol just one of a kind in single player
What about the javelin 2 in the same battle of escucheon 2?
Its not completely missable. High level ninjas can throw it.
It is ♎ Omega's Trick ♎.
@@chocobokoay3194 thank you !
iirc the elmdor samurai's armor is basically at almost the very end of the game.

Nice video. What about the ps1 version? What are the hidden treasures? I think I missed something.
In this video I go over the locations and every single item and in all versions. 👍
What was a music called in this video?
ua-cam.com/video/kwX0G1l-gRA/v-deo.htmlsi=pRRWqAPVHxHC9ja0
right here Castle Crashers Feint Remix
Did not know about the Rouge! Need to play the WotL version, I've been a ps1 purist 😅
I don't blame you but I still recommend WOTL for any FFT fan I say lol.
Yeah there are a bunch of new items not in the original PS one version, plus extra hidden characters with Luso and Balthier.
I just don't like the renaming of all the items/skills/areas/etc
@@motivatedregardless4816 yeah i grew up with wotl version, when i found out the original exist, i'm more confused why the name change and all
What about Gafgarion's blood sword? I'm pretty sure that's a rare missable item? It's not very powerful or relevant late game but due to it's built in drain I like using it with aim until it's too weak to use for sustainability.
Just thought I'd ask
Because you can get it as a common poach from Hydras I don't consider it truly missable. Every single item in this video in most cases is limited in quantity no matter what you do.
You can get the swords thrown to you by gafgarion in chapter 2 but you will need to grind hours for it
Those aren't missable weapons though or unique. Thanks though
The clips where you show Balthier you used 2 units with really cool armor, what are those?
Male and Female Dark Knight
Oh nice, I knew they existed but never actually unlocked them. They look really cool. @@J7Jase
Fantastic video
Thank you man.

Yes WOTL new game.
It depends on how you look at it. Based on its evasion rates its an amazing shield, you will just be at the mercy of RNG
A+ great video
Thank you as always!
So is there any missable items in the first 3 chapters that you can’t get later?
Good question no

Hi! 😅, i see you answer, and sorry but, all of this is for FFT wotl? The game is now in play store? It have a multiplayer?
The gameplay capture is mostly FFT WOTL. But all my information applies to all versions of the game.
Play store mobile version doesn't have multiplayer sadly 👎

@@J7Jase bro, the last question, the fft wotl (mobile) have a online post game, or something like that? Multiplayer, change of items for craft or some like that (?)

Isnt Javelin II also one of a kind in that same battle as escutcheon II?

Are there items that grant immunity against frog?
Yeah there are Ribbon being the best example
This is the one gripe I have about this game, all the cool hidden characters and items you can't access until you're already in a position where you can beat the game. Cloud and Omnislash were so underwhelming after all the work you have to do to unlock them.
Don't even remind me about Cloud 🤣🤣what a let down and he is one of my faves

Does anyone know how to get the koga blade?
Yes Ninjas can throw them at you 96 and over. So its not truly a missablle item after a certain point. You can get quite a few
great stuff
Much thanks!
Why use the retranslated name when talking about the PS1 version?
I've never heard of this before or have someone mention it before. You got an actual game clip of this?

You have no idea how i hate get the 4 items in Bewolf sidequest
More because is random and most of the time i get three but can't get the last
The shield is the only true and real missable item. I recommend having low Bravery on that character as the lower your Bravery the higher the chances for a rare item.
Hope that helps
I Rafa is your movefind char like me too cuz she had lowest bravery
Yeah a few Chickens and she is done so I use her for it
On the iOS version when you unlock the poach shop you can buy majority of the multiplayer items for 5 til each.
Those aren't truly missable items though. I go over every single thing in detail on what is missable in each version or limited in quantity thank you.
I play the best version, FFT The Lion War because of New Game Plus mode.
Good job I know that mod I mean I helped make it more popular and mainstream lol
@@J7Jase Yeah, i've seen that. I've been a "follower" of Hacktics for like many years now and one of favorite mods is JotF, it's just wacky. I've added a few of my own custom events since TLW expanded more event slots for players to work with, if they know how to mod it, that is.
For example, i'm a Ramza Agrias shipper and so i've added a few events for these two. I know, our engineer boy have crush on her but hey, Ramza is the best boy, man. I'm sorry, Mustadio.
