you spend eight hours a day doing background paintings! that you're even considering showing us more background paintings in your free time is very kind! thank u, we appreciate it ~!
Me: *having a rough time and stressing about the fact that college starts tomorrow* Laura Price: *uploads speed paint* Me: *feeling better* Thanks, loved it!💖
Amazing work as per usual! I would love to see one of these with a commentary at some point... I would love to know your thought process when painting, like thinking about shape, colour, composition! Keep up the amazing work!
Amazing to see the level of detail you put in there. That's what separates the wheat from the chaff. Professional artists don't shy away from going the extra mile.
While I love how expressive your character designs are, your environment paintings really shine imho. The way you understand light, mm mm /italian hand gesture
Very good Laura! I'm impressed not only by your work, but by the positive comments below. As an artist, I use Corel Painter, only in the more traditional method of painting. Every now and again, I come across purists, who have nothing better to say. Art is art. Keep it up!
Your drawing style of making simple shapes that form the final picture is so fun to watch 😀. Also easy to keep on track what you are actually doing at each point.
Laura I love your style of video! I literally am obsessed with your speed paints and click so fast every single time you post one. Something about them is so remedial. Loveeee your work
Laura this is so amazing!! I love all the small textures. Thank you for another great speedpaint, I always feel inspired to try harder and make more environments!
Can you make a video describing how you paint with textures like you do? I understand they are textured brushes but I would love to hear about your thought process and what you decide to texture in your illustrations. Beautiful painting I absolutely love your work it is incredibly inspiring!
This video is a good reminder to artist for two major things: 1) The lasso tool is your friend, don't be afraid to use it and 2) never let anything scare you from drawing something you may find challenging because, in the end, everything is just shapes.
This is beautiful! And there’s really not many things cuter than euro cars. I’d love to see you do an environmental paint with physical mediums sometime!
I really love your spead paint but i also love your sit down videos!! I wonder if someday you can put voiceover in your speed paint (if thats not too much trouble for you of course)💖💖
I remember one of the early videos when i subbed back in 2016 u metnioned u wernt good at drawing vechiles but look at ya now. You have evolved into a super sayian level n drawing them now. Great job.
@Laura Thats beautiful. I have a question. I'm assuming that yyou do your paintings in RGB mode. If so when you go to make prints do yyou switch it to CMYK mode? Does that mute yyour colors whn you do so? I'm having a hell of a time with that as I'm trying to make prints for shows for teh first time. :(
Hey I'm a college student almost done with my associate and about to transfer to an animation school. I have a few questions for you. First I noticed you don't name every layer. How do you stay organized? Do you ever find yourself needing to go back and edit a layer and have trouble figuring out which one it is? Also this far I have managed to work on a laptop but I now need to buy a desktop. Do you have any recommendations on what I should buy?
I picked up the pen tool because you recommended it and now I love it! Is there a keyboard shortcut to deselect the path? I can deselect selection but can't quickly hide the current path from the pen tool without going into the paths tab.
Hi Laura! What is the rectangular brush you use a lot in this piece? I like how the strokes look and Ive been trying to recreate it so I can use it on procreate
had to hit that HD button, it's amazing seeing you work. btw, my last painting I did went over 480 MB, had to flatten, merge, delete layers and channels to 360 mbs (4600x4600 300 dpi). I wonder, how big memory wise are these paintings?
Thank you so much for sharing this with us! Even though it's a speedpaint it's a pretty in depth view into what your process is like and you posted it for free.
Would you ever consider including a PSD on a drawing you make for UA-cam? I always find I learn as much or more opening the file and digging through the layers and properties as I do just watching.
Hi Laura im new here, do u use clipping on like windows of the car so that a color is behind the window shape? kindly elaborate. Ps luv your vids and artwork
How do you get everything right in first take is unbelievable. The colors, the lines, and there is almost no adjustments being made of anything at all! How??
Hey laura , i am very happy to find your channel , your increasable aartist , i have question , when you do environmental design painting you use any reference if you is so please show us while painting thanks laura , i am hugest fan your.
Fell in love with computer illustration years ago. At the time I was designing ads for a news paper here in Colorado. I was also painting portraits for this gallery I was showing my work at. I tried to get the gallery owner to show some of my computer work, and she absolutely refused. Said it was a copout. Went on to work at a computer animation company, and after years of 70 weeks started hating computers. Now I'm getting excited about them again, thinking of purchasing the Dell drawing tablet. My question is do gallery's show your work? Ps You are very good.
I’ve seen professionals still use cs6 because it’s a much less heavier file program and CC 2020 makes drawing in it a pain if you don’t have a strong enough computer. I’d recommend trying to find something like that instead
you spend eight hours a day doing background paintings! that you're even considering showing us more background paintings in your free time is very kind! thank u, we appreciate it ~!
I remember in one of your older Q&A's, you said your least favorite things to draw were vehicles. Now look at you!
thank you for noticing! 😭
I was thinking the same thing! Do you still not like painting them?.. Even though you can.
I love these speed-paints! Only suggestion would be to have a voice over of you explaining some steps, or thought process behind the paining.
I love the style. That texture brings another dimension into the atmosphere
Me: *having a rough time and stressing about the fact that college starts tomorrow*

i just want to chef's kiss all of laura's speed paints THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL
Once you add the headlights to the car at 5:30, it looks like it's having this dramatic anime standoff with the one in front of it
That's so soothing to watch
I love how you do the line for the wires with a regular brush and then cover it manually to make it feel more organic and fit the style
While I love how expressive your character designs are, your environment paintings really shine imho. The way you understand light, mm mm /italian hand gesture

Hi Laura! just out of curiosity, how long does a piece like this take you to paint? :)
Could you please do a video on storyboarding?
Yes we want a storyboard tutorial

Your paintings are amaizing... and what is the software you are using to do the drawings...
had to hit that HD button, it's amazing seeing you work.

I need to use the pen tool more. Beautiful work.

i really want to know how much time cost make something like this awesome piece? gorgeous!
Would you ever consider including a PSD on a drawing you make for UA-cam? I always find I learn as much or more opening the file and digging through the layers and properties as I do just watching.
For real though...Someday I hope to be half this good. I'm practicing so we'll see. ;) Thanks Laura!!
Incredible! How long did this take?

How do you get everything right in first take is unbelievable. The colors, the lines, and there is almost no adjustments being made of anything at all! How??
Colours like gta🥰🙂 beatifull
It is really cute that you think that our cars are cute
Lovely! But I miss when you talk a bit more about your process and learnings/challenges while making a piece :)

What brush do you use ?
Laura: Hey watch me do a speed paint!
Me: This would take me 32 days
Forever for me
i just started digital art, what are those dotted lines thingy that i see most artists use?
Most likely the pen tool. The dotted lines indicated a selection or the points of your shape.
@@animelili201 thankssss
Which version of photoshop do you use, and which one do you recommend? because I bought the 2020 version and hated it, besides being very heavy
I’ve seen professionals still use cs6 because it’s a much less heavier file program and CC 2020 makes drawing in it a pain if you don’t have a strong enough computer. I’d recommend trying to find something like that instead
I recommend Krita. It's free to use and works more or less the same as photoshop.
Chiara Marker good suggestion!also medibang paint is something to keep in mind as well because it’s free
I am just wondering, how much time it will take for me to get to your level of art.
I love your videos. The Bob Ross one's are my favorite! what is that Outro track called??
thank you! it's Blues by Safakash!
